So it is a must to check for weather updates in Mauritius when you are going out. You can drive to the nearest point and hike your way up and you will passby this most beautiful viewpoint in Mauriitus known as Maconde viewpoint and when you are at the highest point, you can see the entire mountain is surrounded by a windy road in between the ocean. It is a 80 meter drop waterfall and you can view it from a safe distance. There is no need for any admission fee and there are some souvenirs shops at the entrance. It is a forested area and you have to hike a short distance to arrive at the look out. It is a large conservation space and even parking is free. So you are able to visit all these places with a rental car, there is no need to join a day tour. This is an island on the southwest of Mauritius and nearby Le Morne beach and Tamarin Bay. This is one of the popular places to see dolphins. I paid for a boat and snorkling trip with lunch provided and paid 10500 Mauritius rupee (about S$300) for 2 adults. It was a small tour of about 10 persons and we set off on a speedboat. The waves were calm and each time 2 persons will dive in the sea with the instructors.
