Closest subway station: Changshou road (line 7) + ~10-15mins walk. What to expect- Quite a gorgeous temple! It is a very short visit though (About 30mins or so). It is quite close to another temple (Jing’an temple). I rode a bike from Jade temple to the other. I’d recommend visit both on the same day. I’d say it’s a fun visit but not a “must”. In the eighth year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing dynasty (1882), Master Huigen from Mount Putuo went to Mount Wutai, mined jade, carved five jade Buddhas, and brought them back to Mount Putuo. When passing through Shanghai, he left a sitting Buddha and a reclining Buddha, and built a temple in Jiangwan Town to enshrine them, which was called Jade Buddha Temple.
