Lingshou County is in the eastern foothills of the Taihang Mountains to the northwest of Shijiazhuang City, in west-central Hebei. The county is home to the capital of the ancient state of Zhongshan (414-296 BCE), from where its people began expanding their territory and creating the “ancient Zhongshan culture” over 2200 years ago. Lingshou County has many tourist destinations. Natural attractions include the Wuyuezhai (“Five Mountain Village”) National Forest Park, known as “Shijiazhuang's backyard”; the truly unique scenery of the Hengshanhu (“Heng Mountain Lake”) Resort; Sanmeng (“Three Dream”) Mountain; and Shenxian (“Divinities”) Cave. Cultural attractions include the Zhongshan state archaeological site and the Northern Qi-era (550-577) Youju Temple. There are also red tourism attractions like the Chenzhuang Campaign Memorial.
