In the 22nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1757), Governor Yin Jishen built the "Lake Center Pavilion" on the lake. In the first year of the Jiaqing reign (1796), the prefect Ren Zhaojiong rebuilt the "Lake Center Pavilion" on the lake and named it Tianjing Pavilion.
