Chongqing's hidden gem - Tianxin Temple.
Chongqing Tianxin Temple Guide ✨
Temple Introduction
Tianxin Temple is located in Tianxing Temple Town, Banan District, Chongqing. It was built during the reign of Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty. Before the liberation of China, it was known as one of the four major Buddhist holy sites in Chongqing, along with Luohan Temple, Huayan Temple, and Ciyun Temple. The surrounding mountains naturally form a lotus petal shape, and the temple is located in the center, also known as Lotus Mountain.
Check-in Points
• Ancient Ginkgo Tree: There is an ancient ginkgo tree over 1,200 years old in the temple, which requires four people to embrace. Despite being struck by lightning and burned by fire, it is still full of vitality. It is the largest ginkgo tree in Banan and forms a beautiful picture with the temple.
• Ancient Temple Architecture: The existing upper and middle halls are basically intact, with an ancient architectural style, green bricks and tiles, flying eaves and brackets, full of historical charm, and very photogenic.
• Ancient Horse Caravan Road: The ancient horse caravan road in front of the mountain gate bears witness to the prosperity of the past. Walking on it, you can almost hear the sound of horses' hooves and the cries of merchants, feeling the changes of time.
Best Time to See Ginkgo Trees
