Tsinghua University & A place where dreams come true
"As heaven's movement is ever vigorous, so must a gentleman ceaselessly strive along; As earth's condition is receptive devotion, so must a gentleman carry the outer world with broad virtue." These are such familiar words, and Tsinghua has influenced generations of its students with the motto "Self-Discipline and Social Commitment". To me, Tsinghua has always been the sacred place of learning in my heart. Alas, with limited talent and ability, I had no chance to attend Tsinghua and could only look on from afar.
Coming to Beijing to study, I was fortunate enough to book a visit to Tsinghua as a tourist, fulfilling my dream of getting close to Tsinghua. For the first time encountering such a higher institution, it enlightened my thoughts, not only with Tsinghua's beautiful campus scenery but also with its rigorous academic atmosphere and those exciting, touching stories. Stepping into Tsinghua, the encounter was brief, so brief it could be counted on one finger, just 4 hours, yet I could feel its antiquity and modernity. A quick glance, a fleeting impression, I experienced the cultural spirit of Tsinghua. Pavilions, lush trees, and the ivy-covered walls. Walking by the campus river with weeping willows, the distant cicadas singing, and the birds chirping. The exquisite Tsinghua, blessed by nature. Due to renovations, I could only gaze from afar, barely able to see the couplets on the gate. At the entrance of Tsinghua stands the lotus pond, and there stands the statue of Zhu Ziqing, slender and with a melancholic expression. I lingered by the lotus pond near Zhu Ziqing's statue; constantly capturing the beautiful scenery with my phone. This classic garden has both the grandeur of northern gardens and the delicate beauty of southern landscapes, endlessly inspiring imagination. Entering Tsinghua Garden, it was not only the beautiful scenery that captivated me but also the ordinary life. Walking on Tsinghua's track, I couldn't help but start running, drenched in sweat, but the breeze made my heart calmer. I happened to meet Tsinghua runners in core training and spent half an hour with them. Training running postures together, doing stretching exercises. Although the time was short, a runner's journey never ends, and the journey of life needs to continue to set sail, to strive.
Self-discipline and social commitment, this is the virtue of Tsinghua people, and for those of us outside the school, self-discipline and social commitment are also the source of our growth. Only by being self-disciplined and committed can we strive earnestly and pursue our dreams. Independent thinking, self-discipline, and hard work, the story of life never ends, there is only the process of continuous struggle. Whether joy or sorrow, success or failure, everything will become a fleeting cloud. Be kind to yourself, your life is yours to choose.
