[2025 Dayi Stay] Travel Guide for Xiling Snow Mountain Maple Leaf Hotel (Updated May)

The plank road leading to the snow country is like a fairy tale world. Xiling Snow Mountain is China's largest alpine ski resort with the best facilities at an altitude of 2,200 to 2,400 meters. It also has a large snow playground, a large grass skiing field, and an alpine grassland sports playground. I bought a bus ticket online for a 7 o'clock departure, which goes directly to the entrance of Xiling Snow Mountain Scenic Area. If you drive 🚗, Dayi County North Second Ring Road has officially opened for trial traffic. You no longer need to go through Dayi city to go to Xiling Snow Mountain from Chengdu city. It only takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the scenic spot! After we arrived at the entrance of the scenic area, we took the first Yuanyangchi cable car up the mountain. 🚗 Transportation: We drove from Chengdu. Note that it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the cable car entrance. The wooden cabin hotel in the photos is the hotel next to Snowflake Hotel, called Scandina Resort Hotel. You can walk over to take photos. Snowflake Hotel, Maple Leaf Hotel, Sunshine Holiday Hotel, Scandina Hotel, and Yingxue Hotel are all very close to each other. They are all halfway up the mountain, and you need to take the first cable car to get to the hotel. You need to go up the mountain early in the afternoon, as the cable car closes at 4–5 pm. 🍽 Restaurant: There are many places to eat in Yingxue Square, including many chain brands. We had Shouchailu Roast Duck for dinner, which cost about CNY 100 per person. (We brought a lot of snacks, instant noodles, self-heating hot pots, and water, which were very heavy to carry up the mountain. We found that everything is sold on the mountain and is not expensive.
