Next to the Drum Tower, we went to Yaoji Fried Liver and ordered fried liver (the taste was okay), stewed liver (I liked it), buns (the signature dish was delicious), fried tripe (I wasn't used to it, the taste was average), and fried milk (the sweet dessert was good). We weren't full, so we went to Juqi Roast Duck in a nearby alley. The roast duck restaurants in Beijing are all decorated in a traditional style, which is a bit expensive, but very comfortable. The roast duck was served on a heart-shaped plate with the Chinese character "福" (meaning "blessing") on it. The pancakes and condiments were served on plates with the letters "BJ" on them, which together spelled "I love Beijing." It was very creative. The roast duck skin was crispy and oily, and the meat was tender. With the condiments and pancakes, it was just the right taste! The noodles with soybean paste were also good. The noodles were chewy, but the sauce was a bit too salty.
