What can I say about Berlin? Regularly, I’m asked what is the best place that I’ve visited? It’s a tough question. There’s so many beautiful and awesome places that I’ve been to, that it’s so hard to choose just one. But as a city destination, Berlin would be right up there near the top of the list. Why? It is a unique place that pretty much has everything. The history, the architecture, the culture and a pretty awesome lifestyle. It’s a city that doesn’t sleep, but in a cool way. There’s always something new to discover in every nook and cranny within the city. Berlin has certainly had its lows as well as its highs. The city had to endure the end of World War 2, and the destruction that followed. Afterwards, the city was cruelly split into two, where West Berlin could thrive and East Berlin was left under the influence of the Soviet Union. In 1989, that all changed. A year later, in 1990, the city and country were officially reunified once again. Everything that Berlin has been through has made it the city that it is today. Make sure you visit the museum quarter whilst in Berlin, and head to the Pergamum Museum to see the Ishtar Gate. For food, currywurst is a must. But you’ve also got to try Burgermeister. A burger chain that has converted some quirky places into Burger joints. Sanssouci Palace is an awe-inspiring destination. We departed from Berlin's social center at 8:00 AM, armed with our entry tickets for 10:10 AM. To make transportation easier, we purchased a Berlin ABC day pass, which helped save on travel costs. After several transfers, we finally arrived at this magnificent palace. The interior of the palace is opulent and artistic, though not particularly large. Every corner is filled with artistic charm. Audio guides are available in multiple languages, including English and Chinese, allowing us to delve into the history and artistic value of the palace. These explanations gave us a glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle of ancient royalty, leaving us utterly captivated. After the tour, we visited nearby shops to purchase some souvenirs. These items were exquisitely crafted and made perfect keepsakes. Later, we returned to the city center, enjoyed some local cuisine, and continued exploring nearby attractions before heading back to the hotel. Overall, I highly recommend Sanssouci Palace. The ticket price is quite reasonable, and the cultural experience it offers is truly remarkable. If you visit Berlin, make sure not to miss this splendid destination!
