All-inclusive guide for food, accommodation, and transportation, focusing on no backtracking—quickly save this!📝
🚢 【How to Get to the Island? This Guide Has You Covered】
Whether by high-speed train or self-driving, the first stop is recommended to be Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Pier (ample parking available). Remember to buy the combined ticket in advance (about 220-240 RMB per person), just swipe your ID card to board the ferry, saving queuing time. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes. Once on the island, mainly rely on the yellow shuttle buses in the scenic area, costing 5-10 RMB per person, very convenient to reach any temple🚌
🙏 【Two Days One Night Blessing Route, No Backtracking】
This trip focuses on immersive Buddhist worship, no rushing from spot to spot, making both body and mind feel very healing🌿.
Day 1️⃣: Climb High and Look Far, Pray for Wealth and Luck💰
Foding Mountain Huiji Temple: Take the cable car up the mountain (one way 40 RMB). This is the highest temple on the island, with an extremely broad view overlooking the entire mountain and sea. Huiji Temple is famous for praying for children and marriage, said to be very effective✨
Fayu Temple: Those with good stamina can walk down 1,088 steps from Huiji Temple, along the way seeing the "Sea and Sky Buddha Kingdom" stone carving. Fayu Temple is the second largest temple, housing the national treasure "Nine-Dragon Coiled Ceiling" relocated from the Forbidden City.
Shancai Cave + Fanyin Cave: A must-visit for wealth prayers! Remember to bring new 100 RMB bills ending in 8 or 9, rub them on the cave walls (left rub to keep wealth, right rub to generate wealth), then put them in your wallet to take home, symbolizing bringing wealth back💸. The Fanyin Cave’s sound of the tide resembles Buddhist chants.
🏡 【Stay in Zen Ambiance】
For convenient early morning worship, chose a newly opened guesthouse on the island.
Located near the Wanfo Pagoda of Huiji Temple, quiet yet close to the hustle, just a few minutes’ drive to the Foding Mountain cable car🚗. The guesthouse features a minimalist Zen-style New Chinese design🌳. Rooms have full smart controls, zero-pressure mattresses—after a day of walking, you won’t want to get up🛏️, plus floor heating and fresh air systems for great comfort. The most thoughtful is the free shuttle from the pier, no need to carry luggage yourself, with attentive butler service🧳.
Day 2️⃣: Core Blessings, Make and Fulfill Wishes🌟
Pujisi Temple: The largest and most popular temple for incense, the top choice for praying for safety and making big wishes. The temple has 8 main halls, which can be visited clockwise. Free incense sticks are provided. Pray for marriage at Pumen Hall, wealth at Jialan Hall, and studies at Wenshu Hall!
Zizhulin + Bukengqu Guanyin Courtyard: The founding ancestral temple, facing the sea.
Nanhai Guanyin: A 33-meter tall golden bronze statue.
💡 【Practical Tips】
Bring enough cash change: Incense and flower vouchers (tickets) at temples cost only 5-6 RMB and accept cash only; donation money also requires bills💰
Dress appropriately: Wear comfortable flat shoes, walking 20,000 steps a day is no joke👟. Do not step on thresholds inside halls, no photography, and keep a sincere heart🙏
Vegetarian meal experience: Pujisi and Fayu Temples offer vegetarian meals for 10-15 RMB, enough to fill you up. Remember not to waste food🥬
