A Cozy Haven in Sagada: Blue Mountains Cabin
#timetotravel
My stay at Sagada Blue Mountains Cabin was a tranquil retreat in the heart of nature. Nestled away from the bustling center, this cozy haven is a stone's throw from the majestic Blue Mountain. The serene surroundings, combined with the warm and welcoming staff, made for an unforgettable experience. What stole my heart, though, were the adorable resident dogs who greeted me with wagging tails and infectious enthusiasm. Whether I was exploring the nearby trails or simply unwinding on the cabin's porch, the ambiance was pure bliss. 🌄🏡🐶 #SagadaBlueMountainsCabin #NatureRetreat #WarmHospitality #DogLoversParadise

How can I move on from last weekend? 🥹🥹
Last Thursday, I traveled to Sagada with 26 travelers from all over the country.
That alone surprised me. I was expecting most of them will be coming from Metro Manila.
I was wrong. Almost half of them traveled from Visayas and Mindanao.
“Seryoso ba? Baket?” I always have these thoughts while receiving their booking details.
My goal for “Travel with Me to Sagada” is to make it the ultimate joiner tour.
I want them to experience what I have experienced in Sagada. I want them to fall in love with Sagada and to give them their best travel experience.
I am confident that they will fall in love with Sagada. What I am not so sure of is if I can make it “the ultimate joiner tour”
The 26 are so diverse. Age, religion, language, personality…
The only common denominator is, they’ve watched my Sagada videos.
The first day was an awkward get-to-know stage. The second day accelerated too fast.
There were funny banters, helping each other, laughing at each other, and sharing their vulnerable stories.
On our last night, we had a bonfire to wrap things up. To process their experience, for closure. Kasi dapat may closure. 😁
I was overwhelmed by their stories.
It was the deepest affirmation that I’ve reached the goal. Not only of the “travel with me to Sagada” tour but the goal I’ve set as a content creator.
I am creating content to inspire people to see the beauty of life, to discover the beauty of the Philippines and the Filipinos.
I designed the itinerary, with the goal in mind that those who will join the tour will never forget their experience. I want their experience to be too good, they will have a hard time moving on.
Joke’s on me. I’m having a hard time moving on from our experience and our friendship, too! 😭
The 26 travelers represents you, my very supportive followers. You who believe in me and my content.
You’ve shown me how I’m living my purpose. You give me direction. You give me confidence that I will get there, that I will be where I want to be as a content creator.
I am eternally grateful for all of you. Thank you for giving me a platform to share stories and to help Filipinos to travel.
Malayo pa ang lalakbayin natin. I am confident that andyan kayo kahit malayo pa ang lalakbayin ko.
To Van prayer meeting, van senior high and van tahimik sa umpisa... Maraming maraming salamat sa inyo. You made Sagada a more special place for me🥹🥹🥹
Sa inyo pong lahat, from the bottom of my heart,
THANK YOU! Hope I can travel with you next time.
With so much love,
Shayne

Hanging Coffins: Sagada's Ancient Tradition
Perched high on the cliffs of Sagada, Philippines, the Hanging Coffins are a haunting and fascinating testament to the ancient burial traditions of the Igorot people. For centuries, the indigenous Igorots have practiced the tradition of hanging coffins on the steep limestone cliffs, believing that placing their deceased loved ones in elevated locations brings them closer to the heavens and ensures their spirits rest peacefully.
Each coffin is meticulously crafted from hollowed-out logs and secured to the cliffs using ropes or wedged into crevices, defying gravity and standing as a symbol of reverence for the departed. The sight of these suspended coffins, weathered by time and surrounded by the rugged beauty of the mountains, evokes a sense of awe and wonder.
The Hanging Coffins of Sagada hold deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Igorot people, serving as a tangible link to their ancestors and heritage. Visitors to Sagada can embark on a guided trek to witness these ancient burial sites firsthand, gaining insight into the beliefs and traditions of the indigenous communities.
While the practice of hanging coffins has declined in modern times, the Hanging Coffins of Sagada endure as a poignant reminder of the rich cultural tapestry of the Philippines and the enduring legacy of its indigenous peoples. They stand as a testament to the profound connection between life, death, and the natural world. #tripstars #travel
We Survived Sagada!
👉Caving - Spelunking. Cave Connection (Lumiang and Sumaging Caves in Sagada, Moutain Province)
👉I (we) survived. This is beyond my comfort zone.
Imagine, five hours of spelunking which was exciting and fearful. Katulad ito ng game na supermario na after level 1 ay level 20 kaagad at ang bilis pa ng pagtaas ng kasunod na level. Every level ay kakaiba ang challenge. Puwede maaksidente o mamatay sa bawat level.
👏👏👏YES! I (WE) SURVIDED SAGADA.

The Sagada Lemon Pie House Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Pleasant Cafe in Sagada!🇵🇭
#timetotravel
It was my family's first trying out a Lemon Pie. This isn't your typical pie as of course with the name itself, it is a little bit sour but when partnered with their moutain tea then it becomes a perfect combination! The interior and facade of his cafe is simple but cozy. You can have a chat with your friends or your family as it doesn't get too noisy their. It is quite small and an intimate place. A must visit cafe in Sagada if you want to try a lemon pie.
Address: Atey, Dao-angan, Sagada. Enjoy your lemon pie!

Marlboro Hill Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Experienced being above the clouds!
Catching the sunset above a sea of clouds… Marlboro Hill is located in Sagada, one of the popular tourist spots in the Philippines.
Sharing this once in a lifetime experience.. I know there are other countries with a spectacular view such as this but I would like to share one from my own.
Am getting old already so I was thankful I still got to do this before my knees can’t take it, haha! Sagada is accessible by land travel. However, to get to the top of Marlboro Hills, you have to trek uphill. Your fitness level will depend how early you should go there to start the hike. Our group of 5 consists of me, my dad, my son and 2 guides. I have quite bad knees and my dad as well so we had to stop every once in a while during the hike. We started between 3AM to 4AM, if I remember correctly. It took us almost 2 hours of trekking uphill muddy soil. The portable walking sticks I bought from here (SG) came in very handy!!! When we reached the top of Marlboro hill, there were a lot of people already but we still managed to find a good spot.
Another anticipated moment aside from watching the beautiful sunrise is the rolling in of the sea of clouds… That was such a sight, capturing it in timelapse! My photos didn’t bring it justice but I managed to have a few good shots.
Near the viewing area, there are portable toilets and a few eateries selling coffee, congee, sandwiches, etc. Aside from hiring transport and guide (costs vary), you need to pay a tourism/environmental fee (less than equivalent of SGD3).
Please check out all the photos, see the wonder of nature through my eyes…
