📍Address: Tozan Kannon Temple, Fukuoka Various red leaf information online: Tonzan Kannon Temple is among the top 3 in Fukuoka Therefore, despite the inconvenience of transportation, I still tried to see it. 🗓️Itinerary: I went to Xiaosu Station and tried to hail a taxi. I tried using GO at both the north and south exits for 5 minutes but nothing happened. Luckily, I met a taxi at the station. Based on my experience, in small places, taxis will be waiting to pick up cars when they arrive or are about to leave. The one-way taxi fare for going up or down the mountain is ~3,000 yuan. The mountain is divided into two areas. There are not many people on weekdays, but due to the popularity, many locals still drive up. Overall, there are fewer people than in Kyoto. Some maple leaves are still yellowish, maybe because of the different tree species, but the ones here in Tennoin are basically red and half of them have fallen. This most beautiful place is probably only going to last until the weekend. Due to time constraints, there are still many corners that I didn't go into, including a paid tower that I didn't go into. I felt that the long-range telephoto shot at the turning point on the mountain road would be better, but it was against the light so I didn't take it in the end. 💞Recommended reasons: There is a courtyard with a wall of red plants behind it. Beautiful temple in the middle of nature. There are several paths leading to different altars. There's a train station nearby, but if you are driving, there is a big parking lot one street down - if the small parking lots in front of the temple are full. it's a 30-minute drive from downtown Fukuoka. It is possible to pay 500 yen and enter the Buddha statue. You also get to write a wish and give it for a monk's blessing. All instructions are in Japanese though. Make sure to wear knee length shorts or pants. Tatoos should also be covered. There's also a nice restaurant at the back of the souvenir shop at the bottom of the slope.

I went to Nanzo-in Temple, which is easily accessible from Hakata Station in about 20 minutes by train and is one of Japan's three major new Shikoku sacred sites. At the end of March, I visited Nanzoin Temple located in Sasaguri Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. As soon as you step out of the station, you can feel the calm and serene atmosphere. While there are tourists, it’s not overly crowded. The parking lot near the station is spacious, making it very convenient for those using rental cars. Now, let’s head to Nanzoin Temple ^_^/ Cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and I enjoyed a pleasant walk while admiring the flowers. The temple is home to one of the world’s largest reclining Buddha statues, and seeing it in person is truly awe-inspiring. I spent approximately 2 hours there ⏳. There are also shops and restaurants nearby. 📍Location: 1035 Sasaguri, Sasaguri Town, Kasuya District, Fukuoka Prefecture, 811-2405 ⭐️ Admission fee: ¥300 per person ⭐️ Please remember to show respect as this is not a typical tourist spot.
