The first travel destination of the new year was... On weekdays, there are fewer people, and at 6 AM, there were about six visitors 😊. In the afternoon, there were more cars, and the parking lot was almost full, so I thought there would be more people. However, there were hardly any visitors at this observatory, and it seemed like most people went to the observatory further ahead 😊 Lucky! From this observatory, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Ago Bay, with its 60 floating islands and peninsulas overlapping like layers. At an altitude of 140 meters, you can marvel at the stunning scenery of one of Japan's most famous ria coasts. The walking trails are well-maintained, making it perfect for hiking and trekking. I went to Oharaimachi (Okage Yokocho), a tourist spot located in front of Ise Grand Shrine in Ise, Mie Prefecture! Oharaimachi is an 800-meter street lined with shops, and it was fun just to browse! Here are some of my favorites and some recommended by my followers. 😸 ◾︎ Fukusuke, famous for its Ise udon. If you go early, you can try their handmade Ise udon! Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time and it was sold out, but if you've tried their handmade Ise udon, please let me know what you thought! 😋 ◾︎ Akafuku It's very famous and can be purchased at department stores, but at the main store, you can eat the handmade udon made by artisans. ✨ The winter-only "zenzai" (red bean paste) was also delicious. 👏 ◾︎ Iwato-ya Japanese confectionery shop. I bought a souvenir of "Iwato Mochi," a specialty made with freshly pounded rice cakes that's only available at this store! ◾︎Snoopyaki The Snoopyaki, which looks just like the sign in front of the store, are also great to eat fresh! ◾︎Starbucks I didn't notice it, but this Starbucks has a very rare "siren"-shaped onigawara tile.👏 I posted this photo to my story and a knowledgeable follower told me about it.🙌 ◾︎Sumikko Gurashi-do Next to the merchandise shop, there was also a place where you could buy takeout ningyo-yaki and other treats! ◾︎Grand Mercure Ise-Shima Resort & Spa The hotel I stayed at this time. Riding the sightseeing limited express train "Shimakaze" is an excellent way to explore Ise-Shima, Japan. #SummerThemePark I went to an amusement park with my kids during summer vacation. It was close by on a trip from the Kanto region, so I decided to give it a try. It was summer vacation, it was hot, and I wasn't sure where to go, but we decided to go anyway, and it was a great decision. They had indoor attractions, so we could enjoy them in the cool air, and even the more challenging outdoor attractions didn't have to wait, so it was very relaxing. The dancers in the parade were wonderful, and we enjoyed dancing along, so it felt very homey and fun. The building also had a European feel, making it perfect for a change of pace, and there was a water play area, so it was well thought out and I was very satisfied. I thought the price was a bit high, but the building and atmosphere were better than I expected, and it was empty, so it was worth it. I would definitely go again. #train The most proud #express sightseeing train of #Kinki Railway Company is none other than #Shima-no-Kaze or #Shima-Kaze (#しまかぜ), which has been popular for more than 10 years since its debut in 2013. There is one train departing from Osaka Namba Station, Kyoto Station and Nagoya Station every day to and from Mie Ise Shima area, and the terminus is at Kashikojima Station. The blue-green color scheme symbolizes the clear skies of Ise-Shima. There are a total of six carriages. The beginning and end of the first and last rows are made up of six large pieces of glass formed from multiple angles, showing a sense of jumping layers. The front and rear sections are observation cars, which are also the most popular cars, especially the first row, which has a view as wide as the driver's seat. In addition to the popular observation car, there are also group boxes with seats for 3 to 6 people. More importantly, one of the coffee cars is divided into two floors, and you must be led to your seat by a service staff. If you arrive late and there is no seat available, you can only eat at your seat. There are many local meals and specialties of Mie on the bus, such as curry rice, Matsusaka beef bento, Akafuku's cakes, etc. I ordered curry rice, which was full of spice.
