Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre is an incredibly convenient place to stay—the kind of hotel you can reach on foot right after crossing the border. 📍Walk straight to the hotel from the checkpoint This time, when I crossed from Singapore into Johor Bahru, I was genuinely impressed by the location of Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre. After entering Malaysia, I could simply walk straight to the hotel. And in just a few minutes, you can get to JB Sentral, where you can catch a train or head to different attractions. It’s a huge plus for independent travelers. 🛏️Clean and comfortable room The room gave me a great first impression—it was neat, clean, and the space didn’t feel cramped. After coming back at night, I could really rest well, which is such a big plus when traveling. 🛍️Food, shopping, and entertainment right downstairs Right next to the hotel are Johor Bahru City Square and Komtar JBCC. If you get hungry at night, there’s nothing to worry about—just step outside and you’ll find plenty of restaurants and local eats. 🍞A nice little breakfast surprise The next morning, I went to Medina Baru Restaurant across the street. The freshly made roti smelled amazing the moment it was served. Simple, tasty, and very affordable—it totally put me in a good mood after breakfast 🥹 ✨Overall impression What stood out most from this stay was this— Getting around became so much easier, and managing my time was a lot more convenient, which made the whole trip go much more smoothly.

Here’s a quick guide to Johor Bahru (JB) for anyone who loves weekend escapes with unbeatable value 🚘✨ Pump cheaper petrol, stock up on groceries, and sneak some self-care into the mix! Top Spots to Visit: 1. Local Petrol Stations in JB – Fill up your tank and save compared to Singapore prices. Most stations open early, so no stress if you’re heading back late! 2. Giant Hypermarket (Taman Sutera, JB) – Get your grocery fix at this mega-mart, open till 10PM. Try their fresh bakery section for a sweet snack! 3. Massage Salons (e.g. Healing Touch, JB City Square, open daily till late) – Reward yourself with a relaxing massage without breaking the bank; foot reflexology here is recommended. 4. Food Hunt – JB is full of gems like Restoran Kin Hua (Jalan Trus, open morning–afternoon) for kaya toast and Huat Kee Bak Kut Teh (Taman Sentosa, open till 10PM) for hearty meals. Insider Tip: Always check petrol station queues before committing—weekday mornings tend to be less crowded. For groceries, bring your own bags as some shops charge for them. If you’re up for food adventures, arrive early in the day—places fill up fast and some signature dishes sell out by lunchtime! Getting Around: Rapid Transit Link and local buses are easy if you don’t drive, but nothing beats having your own car for speed and convenience. Apps for ride-sharing are reliable if needed—and parking is way cheaper than in Singapore. Extra Useful Tips: No visa needed for Singaporeans, but bring your passport for customs checks. Malaysian Ringgit is king—don’t forget to check exchange rates. Weather is tropical: light clothes + umbrella recommended (showers are frequent!). #JBFoodie #CheapPetrol #MassageTherapy #CrossBorderTravel

If you're craving an authentic late-night durian experience, Ah Shui at JB is a great place to indulge. After settling into your accommodation nearby, head out for supper and discover lively durian stalls, each offering a variety of durian types to suit every palate. From Black thorn to Mao Shan Wang, and of course their local picks are all yummy too! Driving in this area is highly recommended as it gives you the flexibility to explore at your own pace, and parking is usually convenient near the popular stalls. Alternatively, taking a cab works well—just let your driver know you’re after fresh durian, and they’ll know where to go. Once you arrive, you’ll notice the abundance of seating options around the stalls. After picking out your preferred durian—whether you love the creamy sweetness of Musang King or want to try something unique—grab a table, sit back, and savour the moment. Most stalls are open late into the evening, making this an ideal stop for supper after a busy day. Many of these durian sellers are seasoned experts and are happy to help you select your preferred variety or teach you the taste differences. The atmosphere is relaxed with groups of locals and travelers alike enjoying the king of fruits under the night sky. Pro tip: bring some wet wipes with you, as durian can get messy! They do provide tissue and gloves while you focus on your indulgence! If you’re driving, keep in mind that it’s easiest to explore the JB area by car for safety and convenience, especially if you’re heading out late at night. If you’re unfamiliar with local roads, booking a cab via popular ride-hailing apps can save you time and hassle. #JohorBahru #DurianLover #FoodieTrip #MalaysiaEats #LateNightSupper

Who knew there was such a budget-friendly and affordable hotel in Salatiga City with a calm, warm, and aesthetic vibe? It's absolutely perfect for a family trip. The hotel is cozy and peaceful, despite its vintage feel. The building has 3 floors, but if you're traveling with family, it's best to request a room on the 1st floor since there's no elevator. Getting to the hotel is super easy, and it's close to the bustling parts of town too. It's only about an 8-minute drive to Pancasila Square. Oh, by the way, this is a Sharia-compliant hotel. It's called Hotel Nina Syariah Salatiga. hotel
