A lifetime experience is to head to the world renowned Kruger National Park located in South Africa.
This is one very popular game reserve that you have to go if you are coming here to johennasburg. They have a wide array of animals, reptiles and birds and has a huge area covering more than 19k square metres.
The best experience for this reserve is to be driven in one of the high elevated keeps which gives you a bird eye view among the high dry grasses making this experience a never to forget. Also, don't forget to catch a glimpse of the African sunset too!

Unexpectedly a bigger space than I thought. Simple menu. Lovely and really friendly service. The atmosphere and seating is very comfortable and you can chill out for hours; to work or otherwise. Really aesthetically pleasing interior.

Cape Town South Africa
OH CAPE TOWN 🇿🇦 Can’t believe it’s already one year ago since I had the chance to visit South Africa thanks to @radissonhotels ! It was actually my last trip overseas 😭 So to celebrate it, here is a series of pictures taken around Cape Town, where we had a blast exploring the city and its surroundings. Definitely one of my favorite memories from last year !

Per capita 150 yuan to live in South Africa's own swimming pool villas, it's so cool!
Cape Town has too many good-looking B&Bs, whichever is cost-effective, we came to Simon's Town in Cape Town Let me meet such a magical landlord, their family likes Santorini in Greece too, and bought a house directly at the beach to dress up as Santorini.
When I just got up, I just met the clouds and passed through the mountains. I ate dinner and watched the sunset and dusk. The work was tired and looked up. The blue sky and blue sky cured the fatigue. The house that can see the scenery with this open eye has become my dream.
There are three bedrooms and one living room. The main bedroom is a view of the eye and the bathroom has a special raft.
The kitchen utensils are complete, there are more than five choices for cups and forks, and the cutters are also very sharp, which is very suitable for cooking.
The living room wall is Baker from the seaside. There is a small sailboat in the cupboard. The spacious living room is connected to the open kitchen. Every place where the sun shines in is a fan. Clean and transparent floor to ceiling windows.
A villa with a price of 900 yuan per night, you can stay for 6 people, only 150 yuan per person, great value! !
When parting, the landlord made a special trip to send us and gave us a big parting hug. When she heard our round-the-world trip, she kept saying: fantastic, and I think, like she can Living with freedom and satisfaction is another kind of fantasy.

South Africa is beautiful!
#2024wish
My fav post COVID trip was to South Africa to see family and friends after 5 years. I did the following route : Johannesburg , Durban, George, Pretoria in 3 weeks.
As usual, the most fabulous scenery and delicious foods and there are plenty of amazing photos from each area of this trip, but more so the top foods we had every single day.
South Africa itself is so large and has so many wonderful places to visit in each area.
My favourite on this trip was the Garden Route , the first image is Wilderness Beach , and the second image is the fabulous Guest House called Moontide which is part of the Luxury Collection.
The last image is the Lighthouse in Umhlanga Rocks from the hotel restaurant where we had a fabulous seafood platter!
For 2024, my wish it to travel to Costa Rica

After 7 years, I returned to the place where I first worked in South Africa, the border town of Musina
After flying from Zhengzhou to Johannesburg, South Africa via Shenzhen, I went directly from winter to summer, and then drove all the way to Musina. This is a border town located at the junction of South Africa 🇿🇦 and Zimbabwe 🇿🇼, and it is also the place where I worked in Africa for the first time in 2016 and stayed for more than half a year. After many years, I returned to this place and still felt familiar and emotional.
I happened to stay at the Lifestyle Hotel again. When I first came to work here in 2016, I lived here for several months.
Most of my friends in China will feel that Africa lacks water, but in fact, it is a generalization. In slightly better hotels in Africa, swimming pools are a must, and a large number of flowers, plants and trees will be planted.
South Africa was previously considered a developed country, but in recent years it has been declining, development has stagnated, and there is even a shortage of electricity. There is a scheduled power outage every night here, so the hotel has specially equipped a generator. The weather is hot, so air conditioning is a must.
South Africa, when can it show its prowess again?

First time in Africa!
I went to South Africa for the first time for my friend’s wedding. Got to see tons of wild animals and it was a great get away from the city.
The weather was amazing and the sunset was awesome.
We stayed in a lodge and every meal was provided.
They had course menu or buffet style, especially the meat was good.
Bought some beef jerky for a souvenir and my friends loved it. Would recommend.

Safari Adventure in South Africa
My recent safari adventure in South Africa was a thrilling escape into the heart of the African wilderness. While it's a different country altogether, South Africa is a destination that's easily accessible from Birmingham, and it offers an unforgettable wildlife experience.
South Africa's #WildSafaris are a wildlife enthusiast's dream come true. The country boasts a variety of national parks and game reserves, each with its unique charm. I had the privilege of visiting Kruger National Park, one of the largest and most renowned in Africa.
The thrill of spotting the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) in their natural habitat is an experience like no other. Game drives led by knowledgeable guides provided up-close encounters with these magnificent creatures.
Apart from the Big Five, South Africa's diverse ecosystems are home to a wide array of animals and birds. Witnessing a herd of elephants at a watering hole or observing a pride of lions on the hunt are moments that will stay with you forever.
In addition to wildlife safaris, South Africa offers a rich cultural experience. Visiting local communities and learning about their traditions and way of life is both enlightening and humbling.
South African cuisine is a delightful surprise, with flavors influenced by various cultures. Don't miss the opportunity to savor a traditional South African braai (barbecue) or try local dishes like bobotie and bunny chow.
When planning a safari in South Africa, it's essential to consider the best time to visit, as wildlife sightings can vary depending on the season. Dry winter months are often ideal for game viewing, but each season has its unique appeal.
In conclusion, South Africa's wild beauty, incredible wildlife, and warm hospitality make it an ideal destination for a safari adventure. Whether you're a nature lover or simply seeking an extraordinary travel experience, South Africa delivers in every way. #SouthAfricaSafari #WildlifeAdventure

Travel Season
South Africa is located in the southern hemisphere, with seasons opposite to those in the northern hemisphere. Most areas (Pretoria, Johannesburg) have a tropical grassland climate, the western coast is a tropical desert climate, and the southern coast (Cape Town) has a Mediterranean climate.
South Africa is suitable for travel all year round, with good weather throughout the year. The best travel season is from September to November, when the weather is good and the temperature is moderate, with an average temperature of 15-25°C.
The year is divided into four seasons, December to January is summer, with the highest temperature reaching 32~38°C; June to August is winter, with the lowest temperature reaching -10°C ~-12°C
Power Socket
The voltage in South Africa is 220V/230V, 50HZ, using the South African standard three-round socket, it is recommended to buy a conversion plug in advance in your home country, or purchase it at major airports and large shopping malls in South Africa
Culture, Customs and Taboos
Social Etiquette
South African social etiquette can be summarized as 'black and white' and 'mainly British'. The so-called 'black and white' refers to: constrained by race, religion, and customs, the social etiquette followed by black and white South Africans is different; mainly British refers to: for a long period of history, white people controlled the South African government, and white people's social etiquette, especially British-style social etiquette, prevailed in South African society. At present, the common greeting etiquette adopted by South Africans in social situations is a handshake, and their titles for their interlocutors are mainly 'Mr.', 'Miss', or 'Mrs'. Among black tribes, especially in rural areas, black South Africans often show a style different from the mainstream of society. For example, they are accustomed to giving ostrich or peacock feathers to distinguished guests. The appropriate thing for guests to do at this moment is to insert these precious feathers into their hats or hair. Taboos
South Africans who believe in Christianity avoid the number 13; black South Africans greatly respect their ancestors, and they particularly avoid disrespect to their ancestors by outsiders. When talking with South Africans, there are four topics that should not be touched:
1. Do not praise white people
2. Do not comment on the relationship and contradictions between different black tribes or factions.
3. Do not criticize the ancient customs of black people
4. Do not congratulate the other party for having a boy

A weekend get away to the bush is always an experience when one visits South Africa. Not too far a drive from the main city Joburg one can find an escape from buildings, the buzzing cars and chattering people. A day spent on a game drive is never a day wasted. There is always lots to see and the peace of the bush calms ones mind.

I've been looking to buy an apartment in the area, and went to check out the mall. I have to admit, I kinda gave up on this center a few years back... The area is so amazing, but this mall never seemed to tap into it.
BUT the place is looking so much better now. No more closed shops, and tenants upped their game with the shops looking stunning. And the negative vibe seemed to have gone, everywhere I went the people were friendly. Loved the lunch special at Lulu's Bar at R80, good value. The Spar there is an institution, glad to see the standards are still high. A few other gems worth noting is the Listening Room (audiophiles will love the old school "valve" approach to high quality sound). And Baraka's new larger store has brought a lot of energy to the Jarvis Street side.
Also a tip: there is lots of indoor parking, but I've always missed it. Try entering the parkade from the Dixon Street side (coming off Somerset Rd), and once inside turn left up the ramp. I was amazed to discovered 2 floors of parking I never knew about ! !

One of the historical places I would like to recommend is the Cape Town Holocaust and Genocide Centre, especially to those who love learning about the history of cultures or communities. The South African Jews have a European heritage and many of them were holocaust survivors who have vivid memories of the atrocities committed against Jews, during World War 2. The migration of these survivors and those who took refuge in South Africa, was the beginning of the Jewish Community in South Africa and this community has no doubt enriched the country and contributed to its political, cultural and economic growth.
The Cape Town Holocaust and Genocide Centre is an excellent records/documentation/archival venue which provides the public with a rich variety of sources in the form of photos, videos, and other memorabilia. There is also a section in the centre where you can sit down and watch holocaust survivors give their individual stories and experiences.
Also, there is a cafe where you can rest and enjoy a cup of coffee and snacks or a meal. There is also a Jewish Library which you are also welcome to visit. And on the opposite side there is an historical museum. Please note that when you enter the property, you are expected to show your passport or ID to the security guard and your bags will be scanned. Also please remember that the holocaust centre is free but there is fee required for the museum.
Overall a very interesting tour !!!

Many vendors have set up stalls in the Green Street park area. After reading previous reviews, we did not expect much but we were greatly surprised at the variety, quality and unique souvenirs. Sure some of the vendors wanted us to look at their merchandise but we have experienced very aggressive vendors in Mexico and these do not compare to them at all. The prices are inflated but the vendors expect to barter with you. Do not go if you do not want to barter for lower prices. I bought some scarves with elephants and zebras. We bought a springbok skin that was beautiful and reasonably priced. My son found an African designed stone plate and my daughter found a silver Tree of Life necklace. We have seen the exact same merchandise in brick and mortar stores and the prices are a lot higher especially in the V& A Waterfront. Highly recommend shopping here. We only paid in cash and not sure that credit cards are accepted !!

I ended up walking through this Centre several times as it was where the shuttle to my hotel was located. This gave me the chance to explore the Centre in some detail. Lots of well known international shops, some local shops and a mixture of restaurants and other type of retail places. Bright, fairly new, kept clean and serviced, with good access to the V&A Harbor. Lots of restaurants both inside the Centre as well as some at the very end of it close to the waterfront. Something for everyone.
I enjoyed checking the Centre out. It is well designed and fits right into the waterfront. Well worth checking out when you are at the V&A waterfront !!!

Unfortunately we came here on a terrible day, poor visibility, wind and rain. We visited Cape Point and rode the funicular to the lighthouse. There was a long queue going up and down. My husband went straight to the lighthouse but the view is no better at the top. Despite the poor visibility, I could see the rocks below and the beach.
We also visited the Cape of Good Hope. Due to the weather, the waves literally hit the shore. There's a sign there you can stand behind for a photo.
Unfortunately we didn't see the baboons and it wasn't clear where to go to see them. We have a backup map which helps a bit in getting around. On our way out we went to the information center because we wanted to have lunch. There are toilets but no shops or cafes. 😍😍😍
