Looking back at the steep rock walls I had just traversed (Pic 2), the crowd climbing up that narrow ridge now looked as tiny as ants. The rocks glowed a rugged red in the sunlight. Along the trail, I even bumped into a fearless little furry friend (Pic 3), calmly munching on a pinecone near the perilous cliff edge—now that's a true cliffside hermit! 🦅 The 9.5-foot-wingspan overlord of the canyon (Pic 5): Passing by an educational signboard about the California Condor, seeing its exaggerated wingspan compared to the vast red rock canyon before me, I really wished I could witness their majestic flight across the sky with my own eyes. Farewell, Angels Landing! ☀️ The golden canyon ignited by the midday sun (Pic 1): Returning to the valley floor, the midday sun poured down unreservedly. Rows of trees, already dressed in their autumn colors, gleamed like gold under the blazing sun, sharply contrasting with the hundreds-of-meters-high vertical dark red boulders behind them. This color contrast is absolutely insane! 💦 Temple of Sinawawa: Sneaking a peek at the entrance to the "Water World" (Pics 8-10): Hopping on the shuttle and getting off at the final stop, Temple of Sinawawa, I took a short stroll along the Riverside Walk and finally arrived at the starting point of the legendary The Narrows. Before my eyes, the Virgin River flowed gently through the steep, confined, thousand-foot slot canyon. Watching those hardcore hikers fully geared up and marching into the freezing river water, I couldn't help but sigh: without renting specialized waterproof and slip-resistant canyon boots, waders, and trekking poles, you can really only be a bystander on the shore. Next time, I'll definitely come fully equipped to conquer this river-tracing route! The first half was conquering the cliffs, and the second half was checking in at the earth's rift. It’s also the goal for many visitors coming specifically to check in 🏔️ However, you need to apply for a lottery in advance, and only winners can enter the final climbing section. In the spring, the low sun angle highlights the cross-bedding in the sandstone. The parking lot is tiny, so getting there before dawn is essential. We saw a family of bighorn sheep grazing on the steep cliffs right next to the trail—they seemed completely unbothered by the early morning hikers."

How can outdoor enthusiasts pass up this route! Four years ago, when my dad went to the US, I helped plan the trip and discovered Zion National Park. After watching videos from other bloggers, I fell in love immediately! This time when I went, I quickly finalized this spot✨ We left the Airbnb at 5 AM and arrived at the park entrance in about an hour. The advantage of arriving early is you don’t have to spend time slowly looking for parking; there are plenty of spots to choose from! There was also a surprise💫 Many wild deer were walking on the road in the morning, making it feel like stepping into Snow White’s world! 1. Scout Lookout We started hiking around 7:30 AM, the temperature was fine, and the sun was out. We reached the top around 8:50 (the starting point of Angels Landing, but we didn’t get the permit, so we stopped here). There were many squirrels 🐿️ at the summit. We sat up there eating bread, took some photos, and after an hour, we leisurely headed back down. Difficulty: 2. The Narrows This is also one of the classic routes. You have to walk a long way before reaching the water path. If the weather is bad, this route will be closed. When I went, the water was super cold. I only took photos at the beginning of the water section and then turned back. TIPS: You can rent a wetsuit to keep warm (I didn’t rent one to save money and regretted it a bit after getting in the water). Difficulty: 3. Canyon Overlook This route requires driving yourself; there is no shuttle bus. It was 2 PM when we were still hesitating in the car about whether to hike, but then we thought, “We’re here, so let’s do it!” Online guides said this route is quite easy, so some people even hiked in flip-flops, haha. Compared to the first route, it’s definitely much easier, but I still recommend hiking shoes because some parts can be slippery. This trail is the most highly recommended—really beautiful and less difficult. Difficulty: After these three routes, we were out of energy and went home. This national park has many other trails worth exploring, including The Subway Trail (permit required), where you can see dinosaur footprints, and the Pa’rus Trail, which is a very chill route suitable for those with less stamina. I have to say, this was the most unforgettable and favorite day of my US trip. I recommend it to friends like me who love to use physical effort to experience different environments! TIPS: Be sure to bring hiking poles and sun-protective clothing. You don’t have to buy expensive hiking shoes; you can search online for “kampung adidas”—lightweight and cheap. If you don’t want to bring them back, just leave them in the US without regret. Prepare bread, cookies, and fruit the day before so you can replenish energy along the way. If you want easy parking, arrive early and first hike the routes accessible by the shuttle bus; parking at the Canyon Overlook entrance is limited, so try to go around lunchtime when the morning crowd has left and the afternoon crowd hasn’t arrived yet!
