The weather is wildly unpredictable, even in the dead of summer. Norway is a destination that doesn't need over-the-top activities to blow you away. Just cruising down the road, playing some chill tunes, gazing at the mountains, listening to the waterfalls, and breathing in the crisp air is enough to fill every single day with pure, simple joy. It's definitely a bucket-list trip you'll be itching to do all over again. ❤️

The Loen Skylift, located in Loen, Norway, is one of the steepest aerial tramways in the world and was voted one of the top ten cable cars globally in 2017. You can get there from Oslo by bus or train; the bus ride takes about 6 hours. A round-trip ticket for the cable car costs 850 Norwegian Krone (NOK). Alternatively, you can purchase a one-way ticket up and hike your way down. The cable car's steel rope stretches 1,524.4 meters (about 1.5 km). In just 5 short minutes, it hoists visitors 1,011 meters vertically from the fjord's base straight to the summit of Mt. Hoven, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Nordfjord. As one of the steepest cableways on Earth, it boasts an average gradient of 45 degrees, maxing out at a steep 60 degrees. The ascent feels completely normal. However, on the descent, if you stand at the front of the cabin like I did, you'll suddenly get the thrilling drop-tower sensation—it's exhilarating! So, if you're not afraid of heights, I highly recommend snagging a spot at the front for that extra rush. Once you reach the top, there is a restaurant where you can dine with a view, but I strongly suggest going for a walk first. Head over to the observation deck next to the restaurant for a sweeping view of the stunning blue glaciers and fjords. Framed by turquoise waterways, towering peaks, and a beautiful blue sky with clouds, it's an absolute must-visit spot for incredible photos. After snapping some shots here, head out the other side to hit the trails. A quick 5-minute walk takes you to another viewing platform with an even more distinct landscape. The trail is incredibly easy to navigate; I spent over an hour hiking here, which was wonderfully refreshing for both body and mind. On the way back, I was lucky enough to spot someone wingsuit flying—gliding through the air like a massive eagle. It was a truly spectacular sight!

Briksdalsbreen is one of the most famous branches of the Jostedalsbreen, the largest ice sheet in Europe. It is located at the bottom of the Oldedalen valley within the autonomous municipality of Stryn in western Norway. The glacier is Norway’s most famous glacier, attracting more than 300,000 tourists each year. It flows down from the top of a mountain at an altitude of 1,910 meters, and a glacial lake is formed at about 346 to 350 meters above sea level. In addition to beautiful glacial views, there are also magnificent waterfalls (Kleivafossen), gurgling rivers, ice lakes, and majestic mountains, which are simply mesmerizing and completely intoxicating. Another selling point of Brixda Glacier is that the hiking trail is very easy to walk, the road is paved with sand and gravel, and only has a slight slope. If you start from the entrance (i.e. restaurant and souvenir shop), it takes about 45 minutes to reach the ice lake. If you have limited mobility or want to save a little leg strength, you can take a special local open electric mountain bike (Trollbil), which costs about 300 NOK for an adult round trip (200 NOK one way), with discounts on some travel websites. Before leaving, I suggest that you must visit the display board at the entrance of the souvenir shop, which will show the dramatic expansion and contraction of the glacier since 1900 when there were scientific records. And the most most most important reminder is that after entering the 21st century, due to summer high temperatures and winter snowfall, the glaciers retreated sharply, by 2007 had completely withdrawn from the lake range. I really have to rave about Olden 💡💡� Spending 3k on this cruise is such a great deal!!! 🚢 Second stop: Olden Norway’s most beautiful fjord town 🌊 This is the northernmost check-in spot on this trip~ Arrived at 9 AM but didn’t want to leave at all~ 📸 Must-see spots: ✔️ Glacier Lake The water is even more dreamy than Tiffany blue ✨ ✔️ Loen cable car station Bird’s-eye view of the entire fjord is breathtaking! ✔️ Oldenvatnet lake Reflecting the snowy mountains, stunning enough to take your breath away~ 💡 Travel tips: ⚡️ Travel light for more convenience ⚡️ Bring a windbreaker ⚡️ Make sure your camera has enough memory! ⚡️ Get in line early for the cable car, it gets crowded Let me tell you! Our road trip from Finland to Norway was an unforgettable adventure. We drove from Northern Norway all the way to the south, and every kilometer was filled with breathtaking scenery. But after exploring Norway, my opinion completely changed. The landscapes here are simply on another level. Stryn is an absolute must-visit, with its spectacular mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and stunning waterfalls. And if you’re looking for one of Norway’s true natural wonders, don’t miss Geiranger Fjord. Its dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and peaceful waters make it one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. I highly recommend adding both Stryn and Geiranger Fjord to your travel list. If your in the area of Loen - whether it’s a day trip or camping - this glacier hike is a must. It’s an easy 45min walk up with a clear safe route - you can even get a buggy up for around £13 a person if your not up for the walk. The walk has numerous view points of the incredible waterfalls and rapids but make sure you bring waterproofs!
