In Asahikawa, Hokkaido, I couldn't help but take a picture of the fantastical scenery that you don't often see. It was a feeling I'd never experience in Sapporo, another city in Hokkaido that I visit often.

We arrived in about 2 hours, including a break. The factory is located off the main road. If your rental car navigation system is outdated, it may not find your destination. In that case, use Google Maps on your smartphone. 🏭 Arrival The factory has a warm and stylish atmosphere, typical of Hokkaido. It's so stylish, it doesn't even look like a factory. 😳 The view behind the factory is so relaxing. My main goal was to make my own perfume. 🌿 It was crowded, so I got a number and had lunch at the attached cafe. There was a queue of about seven groups, but I killed time by browsing souvenirs. The Sunagawa-exclusive yellow-packaged cosmetics were so cute I fell in love at first sight. The original pancakes and juice looked so delicious, I couldn't stop adding them to my basket... 🛒 The factory also had a children's play area and a book library. Factory tours are available, but reservations are required. The attached cafe is relaxing, with plenty of vegetable-rich dishes. The pizza and sake lees carbonara were so delicious I've decided to return! (I actually returned six months later.) After lunch, it was time for the long-awaited perfume-making experience. My number was called just as I was being guided in. First, the staff will explain everything, then we'll create our labels. Once we're ready, we'll choose our fragrance and mix it together! 🌿 The lab-like atmosphere is so fun! Guys are sure to love it too! Once your perfume is ready, we'll pay the bill and call it a day. 📌 Shiro Cafe Shiro Cafe Sunagawa Main Branch is a cafe on the first floor and a store on the second floor where you can purchase Shiro cosmetics and perfumes! You can actually purchase Shiro cosmetics and perfumes, and you can even make your own perfume at Shiro Cafe! I took a day trip from Haneda to Sapporo New Chitose! As expected of Hokkaido! It was summer, but it was cool and comfortable! The main attraction of this trip was the famous perfume shop Shiro! The only place you can make your own perfume in Shiro's shop! The shop also has a cafe, factory, and store, so you can have a great time! It takes an hour and a half by car from Sapporo Station, but I really recommend it! It's great to be able to make your own perfume with your favorite scent. From there, I had ramen and soft serve ice cream at New Chitose Airport before heading home. I had ice cream at Iwase Farm, located on the way up from Sunagawa Service Area. It was a hot day, so there was a line at the store, but the turnover was fast and I was able to buy it right away. Accessible from the general road of National Route 12. The hall houses a cafe, restaurant, Kitakaro, and souvenir shop. The second floor features a free indoor play area, and in winter, there's an outdoor snow slide and giant snow sculptures. The photos show the Sunagawa Service Area at the beginning of the snow season and during periods of heavy snowfall. It's the northernmost service area in Japan! It's famous for its soft serve ice cream, but it's closed in winter. There are gachapon machines for station signs and headmark pouches.
