Stepping into the laid-back rhythm of the South Pacific, the locals in Fiji love smiling and telling me, "Take it easy buddy, it's Fiji Time here!" Fiji's pure vibe and its almost "sluggish" laziness really made me feel right at home. Here, time isn't something you keep track of—it's something you happily waste in the crystal-clear blue waters and the warmth of the people. Fiji is made up of over 300 islands, like pearls scattered across the South Pacific. This time, I started from the main island of Nadi and went island-hopping to Mana, Castaway, Funky Fish, Malolo, and Musket Cove. The Sandbank was the most dreamy stop of my trip. This sandbar, made of fine white sand, only reveals itself briefly during low tide. Standing in the middle of the ocean with soft white sand beneath your feet, surrounded by clear, emerald waters—that sense of isolated beauty is truly unforgettable. Monuriki Island is the filming location of Tom Hanks' movie Castaway. The island even still has the SOS signal traces from the movie. Beyond the stunning underwater coral reefs, the fine white beaches and crystal-clear waters will make you never want to leave. Sea turtles symbolize good luck in Fiji. As a wanderer, I absolutely love the turtle's "wherever the ocean is, that's home" mentality. Snorkeling around Mana Island and watching the sea turtles paddle gracefully seemed like a reminder that life should be this carefree! I stayed on Mana Island for four nights, tagging along with boatman Joesese to pick up VIPs arriving by seaplane (he joked that only broke people take the boat). I also joined the locals in foraging for sea grapes, catching fish on the beach, and even making rings out of coconut shells. Nadi Street Survival Guide: While the people on the outer islands are pure and adorable, you need to keep your wits about you in the main town of Nadi. My hostel owner jokingly warned me about the many "crocodiles" (overly enthusiastic scammers) on the streets. I was once pulled into a wood carving shop on Nadi's main street to drink Kava. They passionately introduced their culture, only to slap me with an astronomical price tag at the end. If you run into overzealous shopkeepers, remember to politely decline, or you might be pressured into buying a bunch of stuff! When in Fiji, your taste buds need an island-hopping tour too: · Kokoda (Raw Fish in Coconut Milk): Fiji's national dish! Fresh fish is marinated in lime juice and mixed with coconut milk, onions, and chili. The Grand Pacific Hotel is just that :'GRAND'. You can sit by the pool taking in the beautiful scenery across the Suva Bay and have an afternoon tea party on the beautiful balcony while admiring the flowers. Theres a Bula Bar , Function Rooms that can host entire formal occasions and luxurious guest rooms. Holiday Inn hotel is just right outside on the edge of town- close enough to be near all the various shops and malls but also far enough to be away from all the town noise and traffic etc!! it’s the perfect location if you want peace and convenience in Suva. Grand Pacific hotel has an amazing range of cakes and cheesecakes for only $10 a piece!! You can grab a slice from the bakery in the front and walk over to the back and look for a table by the poolside to sit and enjoy your desert with a beautiful view of everything and nice breeze. A bunch of us went fishing along the seawall in Suva, and the cool thing is it’s right in the middle of town but in a nice secluded area where it’s private enough to sit and fish peacefully but also is in a path where just enough people walk by, making it feel safe. It was my first time ever going fishing and I managed to catch my first fish which was so exciting!!! Although it was the only fish I caught in about a whole hour of sitting there, the actual act of fishing was so relaxing and peaceful- good for my mental. I highly recommend fishing at this spot behind Thurston garden because it’s safe, it’s comfortable, has good breeze, and you get to meet a lot of great people who pass by as you fish. This location is also really convenient because it’s close to the shops and to the main road. And as you can see, all you’ll need is a hook, line, bait and any old bottle to get your fishing game on🤩 #fishing #passingtime #relaxing

Location of this place is so awesome! Just like 15 minutes away from Suva itself. Really easy and relatively cheap to reach it with taxi or local cars. Roads are in good condition, but do NOT think you can walk through the paths without getting your shoes muddy and wet. Rains are very often in here. There is a lot of a small waterfalls and beatiful creeks to take pictures and selfies. Mostly bigger waterfalls are crowded with locals and also mostly teenagers. swimming also totally nice and relaxing. please take care of your belongingwhile swim. It might disappear sometimes 😄. Our local friend also told us to hire a guide for walkthrough, so that those teens could't rob us on our way. I am not sure but most of the local were nice and kind. In almost every corner of the South Pacific Resort, the original island style is revealed. Walking into the resort away from the world, several employees wearing traditional costumes slammed the snails above the lagoon and gently hit the wooden drums. Afterwards, several companions held flower garlands and walked through the wooden promenades to meet the tourists from afar, offering refreshing tea. This solemn and quaint welcome ceremony brings the time to the ancient times of Polynesia.

We spent the last week and a half in Nadi and Suva where we stayed in places from Lautoka to Wailoaloa to Suva. Last January, I visited the Pacific island country 🇫🇯Fiji for the first time! Arriving from Sydney on a direct flight from Fiji Airlines, you knew you had set foot in Fiji when you saw a large swath of land filled with tropical woods! The Fijian people are very tall and strong and very enthusiastic, they often say they live in “Fijian time” and live a slow life😌😌😌 Along the way, you can see a lot of their customs, casual stalls, local markets full of exotic fruit varieties, huge flower baskets, and cool big buses that drive and play Hawaiian-style music😆😆 We also visited the Fiji Museum, let's say the museum, but it's actually very small inside, and the furnishings are not as complete as in advanced countries. I bought one myself as a souvenir 👚 Overall, Fiji is a country that is definitely worth visiting. In addition to Fijians, Indians and Chinese make up a certain percentage there, so they can eat very authentic Indian food.
