Tragedy meets Beauty - Pompeii
A city that rose from its ashes...
Around noon on August 24, 79 CE, a huge eruption from Mount Vesuvius showered volcanic debris over the city of Pompeii, followed the next day by clouds of blisteringly hot gases. Buildings were destroyed, the population was crushed or asphyxiated, and the city was buried beneath a blanket of ash and pumice. For many centuries Pompeii slept beneath its pall of ash, which perfectly preserved the remains. When these were finally unearthed, in the 1700s, the world was astonished at the discovery of a sophisticated Greco-Roman city frozen in time. Grand public buildings included an impressive forum and an amphitheatre; lavish villas and all kinds of houses, dating back to the 4th century
BCE, were also uncovered. Inside were some preserved remains of people sheltering from the eruption; others lay buried as they fled; bakeries were found with loaves still in the ovens. The buildings and their contents revealed day-to-day life in the ancient world—and stirred 18th-century interest in all things classical.

Take a trip to Pompei 🇮🇹
Pompei is a famous ancient city that was destroyed by the mighty volcano Vesuvius years ago. It is now a tourism destination for many wanting to learn about the history of this great city and one of the worst disasters in human recorded history.
It is very close to the big city of Naples, and being in the Campania region, the city is surrounded by nature consisting of mountains, greenery, and plenty of animal life.
There are plenty of places to eat here including a cafeteria where you can get some of the typical Italian foods one may like or even international snacks. However, be warned because it is a bit more expensive to buy food here instead of eating before coming.
Pompei can be reached by bus only about an hour away, or by car taxi and many tourist groups can be seen here in the summer.
The city is wide and vast so be sure to wear walking shoes for the cobblestones. View in awe the many houses, gardens, and places people lived.
There are museums and a gift shop one can visit for souvenirs too.
I especially enjoy the views of the villas people of wealth used to live in with the open roofs and big garden areas.
Overall. I would say that this is worth a visit if you happen to be in the Campania region or visiting the city of Naples.
DON’T MISS OUT!! It’s worth a visit.

if possible, have the tour guide to explain it to you during the tour. otherwise, please look for its story before visiting the place - this will make the visit more exciting.
dont forget to visit the indoor museum where you could see the real humans and their belongings (tbh, this is the highlight of the place for me 🤧)

It’s very beautiful. I love Italian culture!
I went to a lot of museums there and it was amazing. If you are going there be also careful of people who are stealing. The hotels are nice! The people there were very nice. I loved the heat since I was there in the beginning of September. I really advise going there with families or maybe on a school trip, just like I did! Food is so delicious! I recommend going too restaurants that local people go there cause from experience I think they are the best! ALSO DO NOT FORGET SUNSCREEN LOL !! If you are going there I wish you a good stay :). #naturalwonders #fyp #italybeauties #pompeii
