A Sprawling Sanctuary at Upper Bukit Timah…
Discovered a special sanctuary during our own little pilgrimage on Good Friday…
This is St Joseph’s Church along Upper Bukit Timah Road.
The sprawling church grounds add to the grandeur of the nicely refurbished main building and steeple, and the Chinese characters on many of the signages hint at a link, perhaps, to early Chinese immigrants who were converted to the faith by European missionaries back in the day. Indeed, a Google search unfurled the full story…
The massive land area was well utilized with life-size dioramas of the 14 Stations of the Cross built along an uphill pathway.
And there was another quiet spot nearer the main church building, where a set of statues stood, inviting you to sit and take in the tranquility…
I’d consider this a historical landmark in Bukit Timah and it’s definitely worth a visit.

WALK AND PRAY
Kamay ni Jesus is one of the most crowded place during Good friday. But recently when we arrived around 6pm the place has only few people since it's getting dark. They already close the gate getting to the biggest statue for security reason, one of them is there's no enough light to walk up to the hill . It was facilitated by Philippine National Police who asked to show the vaccination card before entering. But over all experience just to be in the place is already a blessing to pray in a big white rosary and grateful. #holyweek #goodfriday #travel #QuezonProvince #philippines #church
