Shrinking Royal Palace of Cambodia
This is a huge complex and beautiful. There’s lots to see so wear comfortable shoes and respectful clothing (covered shoulders, backs, and knees) or you'll be kicked out after paying your entry fee. We just walked across from the hotel where we stay. Palace Gate Hotel was next to Royal palace. If you are not staying around that area, please take a tuktuk tour of the city before going there which I highly suggest. The complex is divided into 3 main compounds. The Silver pagoda, Khemarin Palace and Throne Hall which is still used today for religious & royal ceremonies. I would recommend a tour guy to see the highlights since there’s a lot to see. Informative afternoon of exploring and photo taking. $10USD per person entry, extra $10USD for a guide. One can understand if access were restricted to areas used by the royal family; but entire areas of the gardens were cordoned off. Many other halls in the palace were barred for entry.
Please be mindful the staff are insistent about "no photos inside royal/respectful spaces" and they will jump on you if caught doing a sneaky.
Highlight: The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Silver Pagoda) is a must see. Be mindful that many of the silver tiles are covered with carpets for protection, but the Emerald Buddha and surrounding display is exquisite.
➡️ Suggestion: Go early (two opening times; one morning and one afternoon) to ensure you have time to wander through it all.
⏱️Opening Hours: 9am-12pm, 2-5pm (Everyday)
📍Address: Samdach Sothearos Blvd (3), Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Another one off my bucket list…Angkor Wat!
We woke up very early to catch the beautiful sunrise at majestic Angkor Wat. Measuring 162.6 hectares, it is the largest religious structure in the world. Originally constructed as a Hindu temple for the Khmer Empire by King Suryavarman II during the 12th century, it was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the century and now described as a "Hindu-Buddhist" temple. #angkorwat #siemreap #cambodiatrip

Peaceful in Cambodia
I'm very glad to come here. The people are lovely, honest, nice. I came here in March. It might be a little hot. But I like this peaceful country. Food is easy to buy. Convenient travel I really like the tuk tuks here. Sit back and enjoy the sightseeing breeze and admire their country. Their culture have in common with Thailand. Because we are the closest neighbors. I really like this place. And they use the dollar currency. It is considered very convenient for spending.#trip #cambodiatrip #phnompenh #peaceful
Angkor Wat is a temple complex, indeed the largest religious structure in the world and part of the capital city of the Khmer Empire, which controlled all the area in what is today the modern country of Cambodia.
