Starbucks Reserve Roastery @ Pikes Street
#seattle #washingtonstate #starbucks #roasterycafe #coffee #original #mustvisit
Starbucks originally came from America and it's first outlets popped up in Washington state, Seattle. Once a small quiet city which now grew into a big bustling city where tourists will flock during the summer and spring seasons for cruise towards Alaska.
Not too far away in main downtown Seattle is the Starbucks reserve roastery where it 1st originated from. Located 1124 Pike St, Seattle, WA - Capital Hill, this reserve is huge!! When you enter, you be created by big metal canister where i believe the coffee roasting and churning are. But do drop by, because you will not get this elsewhere!
Seattle's Highest View
The view was wonderful. I was lucky that the weather was clear and I got to see Seattle during midday on a Saturday (there were fewer people too). The elevator to the 73rd floor is fast too but it doesn't make you dizzy.
I got the Classic Access for $30 and with it comes a $5 voucher for the gift shop or bar. I bought 2 magnets which was a 2 for 1 deal for $5. Technically, it was free.

Amazon HQ and Amazon Go
From Westlake Station, I walked around to visit Amazon Headquarters in Seattle. Beside it is also an Amazon Go shop where I "shoplifted". 😂 Kidding. I entered the shop with a QR code on my Amazon app, pick the stuff I wanted and then exited.
No queues or check out as the whole shop is filled with sensors. The store knows what I picked up and sent me a receipt later of my purchases.

Bellevue Botanical Garden
We visited this lush botanical garden in the Bellevue area outside Seattle, equipped with some nice walking trails and a cute cafe - perfect for grabbing a coffee and pastry for a relaxing outdoor stroll. The Bellevue Botanical Garden has several acres of display gardens, wetlands and trails. Most of it was generously donated by previous homesteaders who lived here, and admission is free to the public. They also have an adorable gift shop, plants for sale, and a schedule of activities and seminars. I look forward to going back for some of those events!

Washington Park Arboretum
The Washington Park Arboretum covers 230 acres and offers various trails to hike. It’s free to the public and contains a vast variety of plant life, and I enjoyed seeing pops of color from flowering shrubs and trees during my stroll. It’s a huge space, so don’t expect to cover all the gardens and areas in one day. There are lots of plants for sale as well, and different options for purchasing them. I saw couples and families also taking walks or biking in the park, but it was not packed with crowds - it’s a very pleasant and quiet space.

The Famous Ballard Locks, Seattle
#touristattractions #seattle #america #educational
Seattle has several attractions, where one of which is the Ballard Locks located at 3015 NW 54th St, Seattle, WA 98107. This is a complex place where you will find rows of lanes for ships to enter.
You will be able to read up on how it operated since the 1900s till today. Also, there is a place where you can go underground during the salmon breeding season to see salmons swimming against the current and up the ballard locks to breed. There is an educational tour on the type of eggs and how the salmon breed too!

The house that inspired the movie “UP”!
Sunny Sunday in Seattle! Walked from festive Fremont to Ballard, where we saw the actual house that inspired the animated film “Up”! From the balloons hung on the fence, this is clearly a landmark in Ballard. A certain Edith Macefield had turned down USD$1 million that was offered for her house which was to make way for a commercial property. They ended up constructing around her 116 year-old house. True story!
Interestingly, Ballard is a neighborhood built on shipping and Scandinavian culture, where the buildings are still reminiscent of a bygone era.

The Seattle Original Farmers Market
When one is Heading to seattle, your trip is never complete plate if you don't head to the pike place market located in downtown seattle at 85 pike Street where this is also located facing the Elliott Bay where people take this ferry towards bainbridge or bremerton which is located across downtown seattle.
Pike place market has been gaining its popularity due to its originality when it once open in the 1900s and is still operating making this one of the oldest operating market. Although the place might be old, the farmers market itself has many freshly caught seafood delicacies, or even freshly caught fried fish and many other food options with shops also selling collectibles items, arts and crafts and home made items. You should also visit this gum wall located right at the corner of pikes place where there seems to be a million gum where people will stick their gum on it, you don't wanna lie on it, trust me.

Yummy Pho in Seattle
I don't know about you, but when I am overseas I love trying Asian food in other countries too. It gives me a different perspective as to how the Asian food is cooked or presented overseas. Sometimes the taste is different, the method of cooking is different or even the ingredients may be different to what we have back home.
I was in Seattle and I was craving for some Asian food that was hot, soupy and comforting. At 1201 pine street, lies a Vietnamese restaurant with the name 'pho 4 you'. I had the beef pho to take away so that I can enjoy it in my hotel room. I was surprised that the beef packed was raw, so you have to quickly pour in the piping hot soup so that the meat will be cooked medium rare. Overall, the soup was tasty, the beef was tender and noodles portion was big. My tummy is happy!

Pike Place Fish Market & More
Just like Tsujiki fish market that is famous in Japan Tokyo, in Seattle there is the Pike Place fish market. This market is an open air fish market that has been opened for decades. What is interesting about this place or rather what people come here for is to catch a glimpse of stall employees playfully throwing fish around the market. The seafood sold there are fresh and everything looks good! Nearby, you would also be able to Miners landing and the great wheel of Seattle. Miners landing is a place where you can have fun at exciting attractions such as the carousel and sea tours. You also find famous restaurants like The Crab Pot at Miners landing too.

The Gum Wall
Believe it or not? Hygienic or not? Well, the gum wall in Seattle is actually a tourist attraction. The wall is actually a brick wall that has been covered with all sorts of colourful gums that have been chewed on and people just paste them there. You can find this unique tourist attraction under Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. Shockingly, you see many people hanging out at this area too. People are there busy taking selfish with the gums stuck to the wall and do be careful when you are there because you may have gum stuck to your shoes. All in all, it is still a fun place to visit and check off your bucket list.

Seattle's Space Needle, Spheres & Street Food
Seattle is definitely a quieter side of America but there are still attractions to be seen and explore. One example not to be missed is the Seattle space needle. It is an observation deck which you can go up and treat yourself to the amazing view of Seattle. On top, there is also a rotating restaurant. Next, one can visit the Seattle's spheres, which is also the amazon sphere. There are tours within the spheres which you can sign up for free and I heard reservations gets snapped up easily so book early if you can. Do not forget to visit the Seattle's great ferries wheel too.
You can get cheap street food in Seattle, my tacos were yummy and cheap for only 2.90USD. If you can, do also try Beecher's handmade cheese. They are an artisanal cheese maker and their Mac & cheese was so delicious. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #foodie #awesomepic #passionpassport #bucketlistreboot #seattle

Bruce Lee's tomb on Halloween & More
What were you doing on Halloween day? Partying or perhaps tricks or treating? Well, it is a taboo for us asians to even talk about the dead or visit a cemetery but that is what i did. I visited Bruce Lee's and Brandon Lee's tomb stones in Lake View Cemetery in Seattle. It is actually an attraction and to be able to see a well known legend and actor's tomb, along side with his son's brandon's tomb, it was mind blown. The place is peaceful and somehow i enjoyed the quietness. It wasnt spooky or scary.
At the Westin Seattle, it is cute to see a best painted pumpkin competition going on within the hotel and you can vote for your favourite pumpkin. If you walked into the estate area of Seattle, you can housed decorated with Halloween stuff. It is definitely an eye opener. #spooktaculartrip #mytripvlog #tripblazers #urbanexplorer #awesomepic #passionpassport #bucketlistreboot #seattle

First Starbucks In The World & More
When you travel to America, most would visit livelier and bustling cities like Los Angles or San Francisco but once you explore the quieter side of Seattle, you will realise it's charm and fall in love with the place.
At Pike Place Market in Seattle, you could find the original starbucks or rather the first Starbucks outlet in the world. The Starbucks shop maintained it's old school shop front and you can buy drinks from this shop. If you're feeling hungry, head over to Cinque Terre ristorante in Seattle. You can find wonderful tapas at half price during their happy hour. Cheap and good! Drinks are equally affordable during happy hour too.
Take a walk after a meal and enjoy the sights of Seattle. The Seattle Great Wheel, which is their ferris wheel is gorgeously lit up at night. #tripblazers #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #awesomepic #passionpassport #seattle
A Snowy Wonderland At Twin Falls
Seattle is full of hiking trials located almost at every corner. During winter, some of the trails might be close due to the heavy snow or hard slippery ice which might be dangerous for hikers. But for one who loves the cold weather and love to do some hiking, this is a place you have to go and I do recommend twin falls!
Twin falls is located at SE 159th St, North Bend where you can start at the twin falls trail head. This is a well maintained track and one of the many popular hikes during winter due to its moderately challenging route which only takes about 90mins to complete. But do be careful as this trial runs parallel with the river, the route might get slippery due to frozen ice and you might fall and slip(which happened to me). But nevertheless this is one of the many fun hikes in winter that you should explore!

Sunset Chasers at Golden Gate Park
People who are heading to seattle and love the sunset views setting over the horizon, do head to golden gate park located at 8498 Seaview Pl NW, Seattle.
Before heading to the park you can plan out your day before watching out for the sunset, like having a picnic as there are several benches on the park, and with the perfect cooling weather in seattle I don't see why this isn't a must do list.
For most locals here you will see them doing sailing, kayaking or even stand up paddling as the waters are rather calm here. If you would like to go for a swim, you can but the waters here are cold as it comes from puget sound, but i have to say the waters here are really clear!

Roadtripping From Sanfranisco - Seattle
One of my most unforgettable trip is doing a solo road trip from San Francisco up towards Seattle. It is one of the longest drive I ever did, with a total of almost 13hours that is if u drive straight.
Well it took me 2 days, a 8 hour drive on the first day and another 6 hours the next. Solo driving on a trip like this can be really tiring but it can be enjoyable too if you plan it right!
From San Francisco I did a stop over in a small town called crescent city which I had a short night stay overlooking the sea to relax myself for the next day. And the scenery can also be quite beautiful if you take the time to stop and look around. And if you like the cold weather plan your trip closer to winter but not in Feb - March as it can be really snowy and icy which some roads might possibly be block too!
This is one fun and adventurous solo road trip I've ever done!

Plane Enthusiasts Head To Musuem Of Flight
For any plane enthusiasts, its a joy to see the many evolution of planes since the very start of flight by the Wright brothers who invented and build the first ever motor powered airplane.
Seattle has a musuem called The Museum Of Flight located at 9404 E Marginal Way S where it holds one of the largest air and space collections. For aircraft models alone, it has almost 150 airplane collection, from the world first fighter plane, to the world first commercial jet to present day aeroplanes.
For activities there are also other interactive activities like spacequest VR, flight simulators and many more. For people who drives, the musuem of flight had a big parking lot that is free for visitors as well. So parking will not be an issue here.

Seattle Space Needle
The most Iconic landmark, also a symbolic structure in seattle, 605-ft.-tall spire at the Seattle Center, with an observation deck & a rotating restaurant.
Do make sure you plan your activities at the space needle as there are several things to do. From photo-taking, skyhigh selfie, lounge or even walk the skyrisers. Entrance fee to the space needle cost from 25USD to 38USD depending on the day and time you go. As this is a popular attraction, there might be a long queue at times, especially closer to sunset. Part of the space needle floor is made up of tilting glass benches leaning out to the city and also a glass floor for you daring people to step on it and look all the way down to the bottom.
As the space needle was built in 1961, there is a long history of the tower, where it was once a radio tower, it also withstand an earthquake of 9.2 magnitude, it was also once a restaurant. The space needle has stopped rotating since the earthquake, i believe a safety concern.
BUt there is much to see and do up the space needle. Spend sometime up there, get a coffee, have some food and absorb the view from the above. You can see the entire 360 of Seattle up from the tower. Oh and also, do get a jacket as it could get really chilly and windy up there as well.

Famous Pike's Place Market
When one go to Seattle, a trip is not complete without the famous Pike's Place.
Pike's Place Market is located at the main entrance of the covered market area(which helps to cover you from the cold winter days), and is famous for its crowd pleasing antics with fish mongers showing of their daily catches.
This is also known to be a foodie heaven with more than 30 restaurants ranging from grab and go delis to fine dinings. There is definitely something for everyone, satisfying everbody's tastebuds. One of the oldest restaurants here is the Athenian Seafood Restaurant and bar from 1993 located right on the waterfront.
First time visitors may think the market is just what theyt see of the street, but below the street-level stalls is a whole other world of curious shops specializing in vintage finds, collectibles and even magic tricks. If you have couple hours to spare, its a great place to get creatively lost.

Alki Beach overlooking Seattle Skyline
Alki Beach is a popular place for couples or visitors to catch the entire downtown seattle. Be it in daylight or sunset or even the night lights.
Beautiful long stretch beaches with parks and running treks for people who wants to end their evening with a nice run or stroll.
Alki Beach stretches for approx 4km which definitely will get you an awesome skyline view of seattle.
Location(getting there):
West seattle juts out into Elliot Bay directly West of downtown Seattle. This can be easily reached by car via the West Seattle Bridge. From Downtown Seattle, follow the signs and find your way to I5 South and take the exit for West Seattle. Once across the bridge, turn right onto Harbor Ave SQ and this will lead you around the tip of Duwamish Head and onto Alki Point.
There are also alot of cafe's by Alki beach which is just across the road overlooking the view of Seattle Skyline. And there is also a replica of the statue of liberty which reminds people that it was once called New York - Alki.
Most people like myself, get takeouts and seat by the carpark and just absorb the views, letting the sunset slowly set and the Space Needle and skyline slowly lights up. It is breathtaking.

Rainier semi-unveiled
Attraction:
People say if you can only do 1 hike for Mount Rainier, you should do the Skyline trail. I have to say it did not disappoint. I’ve been to lots of places, 3 times in Switzerland. Skyline is comparable, especially with the fall color palettes. Gorgeous.
At Panorama Point it was slushy, need poles and waterproof boots. Gaitors recommended.
Do not at weekends cuz this trail is too popular. I went on a Wednesday, sunny on the way up but couldn’t see anything when I reached the top. Well it is what it is for high altitude weather — unpredictable.
On the way down during sunset the fog dispersed and Rainier came out— absolutely breathtaking. #Pnw #Seattle #hiking #Rainier #Mountrainier
Getting there:
2-2.5 hrs east drive.
Visitor center is closed but restrooms are open.
No shops no restaurants this season.
Go to Reflection Lake on the way up!
