My fav village on the french riveria 😍🇫🇷😍🌵🍀🌴🌿
#timetotravel
Èze village is a charming small town on the french riveria that is up on the hill, therefore it is a bit tricky to get to by train.
You will have to either uber, hike or bus from the eze train station. The bus stop is always crowded and the bus does not run very frequently. For ubers, we called one but the driver tried to rip us off and said he has to charge more when he arrived. As for hiking, I would not recommend hiking up since the French sun is a killer ☀️…
If you are coming from Nice, I would hands down recommend taking the buses 82 or 112 and the journey would take you approx 30 minutes.
Although èze is more difficult to get to as compared with the other cities on the french riveria, you should not miss out on visiting it!!!
In the heart of èze is a botanical garden called Le Jardin Exotique. Definitely would recommend visiting because the views is GOD SENT. It is advised to get tickets at the machine at the beginning of the slope and not at the ticket office, so that you wouldn’t have to queue!!!

BEACH CLUB IN ANTIBES 🇫🇷🫶😍⛱️👙
#timetotravel
We travelled to Antibes on a Sunday and every beach club was so crowded 😮!!! We made the mistake of not making any reservations at the beach clubs.
We were lucky that Yolo Plage has four exact sun beds that are free and is reasonably priced. And the staff are very nice and accommodating.
Everything at Yolo Plage is amazing, from the drinks (get the Hugo Spritz!!), ambience and vibes. Beach and water is clean. The water is slightly chilly which is perfect because we were walking and tanning under the sun ☀️ for too long.
While we were swimming, we saw two swans 🦢 which caught us all in a surprise haha!!
We spent half the day at Yolo Plage and managed to catch the sunset 🌅😍
L' Effet Mer Plage, a tiktok famous beach club was our first choice but they tried to overcharge us 😒 Would not recommend you to go, instead head to Yolo Plage!!

Beach Club in Menton — the town of lemons 🍋🇫🇷🫶😍
#timetotravel
My friends and I visited the beach club on a weekday in June and was quite empty. We had the luxury of choosing the best seats in the club!! 😍 Out of all the beach clubs we went to, this one is the prettiest one!!
Contrary to the reviews I have read online, the staff are very hospitable and accommodating. Perhaps because the beach club was quite empty and we had all their attention(?)
The beach and water is nice and clean but the water is slightly chilly, the food and drinks options are extensive and yum. However, do note that the beach club is on the expensive end of the spectrum, everything (beds, towels, food and drinks) costs us around €70 per person, and we are a group of four people…

TO ALL F1 LOVERS… VISIT MONACO 🇲🇨 🏁
#timetotravel
To all the Formula 1 fan out there, I would 100% recommend doing a track walk/ drive if you are in the south of France!!!! My friends and I all do not have a license so a track walk it is… Do note that there is a lack of pedestrian space and you might have to walk on the streets for some parts.
To non Formula 1 fans, you should still go and visit since Monaco is only a ~30 minutes train ride away from Nice and Monaco has so much to offer apart from F1 related stuff.
I have seen the tracks multiple times on TV but I would never have imagined seeing this in real life. 😍😮‼️ I was so excited and was in awe the entire time I was doing the walk!!!
Now that I have done the track walk, my goal for myself is to attend a F1 grand prix in Monaco!!!

Pebbly Beach in Nice, France 🇫🇷
#timetotravel
This beach definitely CHANGED my perception about beaches because why are beaches pebbly in old nice???
I made the mistake of not wearing a pair of waterproof, closed toes shoes on this trip and it was tricky getting into / getting out of the water because my feet was stuck in the pebbles and it hurts just walking on the pebbles.
I visited during June and the water was still quite chilly but anyhow we rented sun beds from Hôtel Amour Beach and got a bottle of rose 🍷 to enjoy in the sun ☀️

Plane spotting at Hotel Amour à la plage Nice
Got to the beautiful private beach of the Hotel Amour right after landing in Nice, it’s only a 20min trip from the airport using the city tram. Great place to suntan and swim all day while watching planes take off and land from the Nice airport. Great and authentic local food on the menu and lovely natural wines to pair with. The staff was lovely and spoke good English and the showers and locker rooms were very cute and convenient. Highly recommended. #timetotravel #frenchriviera #privatebeach #beachlife #Niceisnice #instatravel #goodlife

Indulge Yourself at La Tarte Tropézienne

Indulge Yourself at La Tarte Tropézienne
We wanted to try this Tropezienne Tarte and although it originates from St. Tropez, most of the French Riviera resorts have adopted it.
If you’ve ever had a Victoria Sponge Cake it’s pretty much that with some sugar crystals sprinkled on top. Goes very well with your favourite hot beverage.
Additionally we tried the triple chocolates mousse cake which, as a self prescribed chocoholic, I must say was divine. The Noisette and Raspberry cakes were equally good however, it didn’t match the triple chocolates cake.

Shop on Antibes Street and Meynadier Street
Have a walk on this almost Oxford Street in London look-a-like shopping street. Here you will find all your favourite brands and more. During our visit, the streets were busy and all shops had outside pop-up stalls.
For more local flavours, souvenirs and crafts try Meynadier Street. This street is really cute with colourful buildings, local shops and lots of tourists.
Anything from pastry shops to clothing stores, you will see them all.
Just wandeing around and enjoying the little streets of Cannes and visiting those cute souvenirs shop makes it worthwhile.

Take a Ferry to St. Marguerite Island
This is one of the famous landmarks in the area. We didn’t have the time to go to the island but did see it from afar from the castle hill.
This is where it took the Man in the Iron Mask 11 years to leave the tiny, forested St Marguerite Island. The mysterious individual was believed to be of noble blood, but his identity has never been proven. His cell can be visited in the Fort of St Marguerite, now renamed the Musée de la Mer (Museum of the Sea).
This museum also houses discoveries from shipwrecks off the island, including Roman (1st century BC) and Saracen (10th century AD) ceramics.

Admire the Yachts at the Port of Cannes
Port of Cannes is a modern and fully-equipped port that welcomes yachts to its marinas in the heart of the French Riviera. We really enjoyed walking by the port and admiring the beautiful yachts.
We thought we will see a lot of big and expensive yachts in Monaco, however we felt there were more and nicer boats in Cannes, so definitely pay a visit to the port.
The port is beautiful and the views towards the city and old town are great. The yachts are absolutely stunning 😍 Take your time to admire them and enjoy your time around the port.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Palace of Festivals, Cannes 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #france #frenchriviera #cannes
Walk the Red Carpet at Palace of Festivals
By the title you guessed it. This is where the famous Cannes Film Festival happens and where all the movie stars come. The building itself looks modern yet slightly dated but definitely worth a photo.
Here you will also see Casino Barriere Le Croisette. The building is situated by the Marina opening to a beautiful view towards the main boulevard and overseeing the old town in the background.
There is a big statue of a camera nearby, so this might be a good photo opportunity 😀 Then you move on to explore the rest of Cannes
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Promenade in Cannes, France 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #france #frenchriviera #cannes
The Promenade de la Croisette is the waterfront avenue with palm trees. La Croisette is known for picturesque beaches, restaurants, cafés, boutiques and luxury hotels.
Croisette beach
Whilst you are on the promenade why not go on the Croisette beach and put your feet in the sand? Unlike Monaco and Nice, the beach here is really smooth almost like in Punta Cana.
Really enjoyed walking around and enjoying the beautiful views. The sand is so fine and so nice to walk on. The water is clear but was rather cold in October.
Overall a great experience alongside the promenade.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Forville Market, Cannes 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #france #frenchriviera #cannes #market
Pay a visit to the famous market Marché Forville where you can find fresh local produce and flowers. Make sure you visit before lunchtime as most of the market stalls disappear after lunch.
Here they also sell fresh fish, seafood and oysters. The stands are beautifully presented with fresh produce and it is worth visiting even for 5 mins.
You can see a lot of local people at the market as well. There are stands selling freshly squeezes juices and fruits, so you can easily refresh.

Visit Church of Our Lady of Hope
Church of Our Lady of Hope (Église Notre-Dame-d’Espérance) is a hilltop Gothic-style stone church completed in the 1600s overseeing the bay area. You can enjoy some nice panoramic views of Cannes from there.
The interior of the church has its own character and you can even find an old cemetery which dates back to the 16th century. Definitely a church worth visiting whilst in the city.
What is also very impressive is the views from the church. You can see so many parts of Cannes from above, it is really beautiful and worth spending some time admiring the views.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Climb up to the Château de la Castre
#celebratewithtrip #france #frenchriviera #cannes
This is pretty much the castle hill where the old Roman fort used to be. You could enter the castle tower which has been converted to a museum showcasing landscape art, musical instruments and ethnographical items.
We didn’t enter the museum however, we did take some time to gaze at the wonderful views from the viewing point.
Below the viewing point you will also see the Cannes sign visible from the whole bay area. Many tourists choose to take their photos with the sign as well.
Overall it's worth going there to enjoy the beautiful views of Cannes from above. Would recommend 👌 Overall it's worth going there to enjoy the beautiful views of Cannes from above. Would recommend 👌
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Cannes old town :)
#celebratewithtrip #france #frenchriviera #cannes #oldtown
Le Suquet is Cannes’ old town quarter and the original site of the city. The largest part of le Suquet is pedestrianised so you can enjoy the small shops, colourful buildings and narrow streets.
There are lots of restaurants and cafes around, so just pick your spot and enjoy the atmosphere of the city.
With its medieval buildings and a castle on top of the hill, it offers an incredible contrast to the glamor of the modern part of the city.
Cannes itself isn’t a large city and so it may feel a day can be enough to explore this movie star city. Below we suggest a few things worth considering for your trip there.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Transport information about Cannes 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #france #cannes #frenchriviera #transport
We travelled from Nice to Cannes by train. Trains are almost every half and hour and are very accessible. You can check times and prices here. Once you are in Cannes you will find that the train station is conveniently situated at the forefront of most touristic areas.
Although there is public transport in the form of buses mostly, we found that for exploring this city you can simply walk around. You also have options of using the pink electric bus, tourist train or hop on hop off bus.
They have this cute pink bus which is tiny and takes you around the city. We didn't feel we needed to use public transport but If you are not into walking or too much walking, then this might be a good choice 😉
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Exploring Cannes 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #france #frenchriviera #cannes
Cannes pronounced /kæn, kɑːn/ is a city located on the well known French Riviera. It is a commune located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, and host city of the annual Cannes Film Festival, Midem, and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Whilst it originally started as a Ligurian settlement in 2 B.C., it is unknown where the name Cannes comes from. Historians suspect it may have to do with the name “canna”, which is reed in English as the area may have been a swampland in the past.
Nowadays Cannes is a city of just under 80 000 people and is an important cultural and economic hub in the South of France.

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) The famous hotel Le Negresco
#celebratewithtrip #nice #france #hotel #frenchriviera
Hotel Le Negresco is a landmark in Nice. It was named after Henri Negresco (né Alexandru Negrescu, 1868–1920), who had the palatial hotel constructed in 1912.
He was educated and worked as a confectioner at the luxurious Casa Capșa in Bucharest, Romania, and left home at the age of 25. As director of the Municipal Casino in Nice, he had the idea to build a sumptuous hotel of quality that would attract the wealthiest of clients.
Although soon after opening, the First World War broke out and so he never really saw his dream realised.
Having said this, the hotel has been restored to what Henri Negresco envisaged. The hotel features a spectacular Baccarat 16,309-crystal chandelier in the Negresco’s Royal Lounge which was commissioned by Czar Nicholas II, who due to the October revolution, was unable to take delivery.

The Greeks were first to establish a city by the name of Nikaia.
It’s believed they named it after the Greek Goddess of victory – Nike. Now you also know the origins of the name of the famous shoes brand.
Up until the 18th century most of its history was part of Italy’s and namely under the Duchy of Savoy. The official language was Italian and everything about the city was of Italian influence.
After changing a few times hands between the French and the Italian Kingdoms, Nice ultimately became part of nowadays France. The agreement between France and Italy was ratified through a referendum offered to the people of Nice.
