Jingjiang Palace In Guilin China 🇨🇳
#chinatrip
There's a historical gem called Jingjiang Palace in Gulian, which is steeped in cultural and historical significance. The city of Guilin has a rich history dating back to the reign of Qin Shihuang, known for building the Great Wall and the Lingling Canal. During the Tang Dynasty, Li Jing established a city beneath Duxiu Peak, serving as a hub for administration and education for centuries. However, Duxiu Peak and the King's City were off-limits to the public until recently. 🏰
Jingjiang Palace, erected in 1372, showcases grand architecture with a commanding gate, sturdy walls, and a meticulously planned layout. It boasts towering halls, pavilions, and breathtaking views of water and mountains, reminiscent of the legendary Asgard. Constructed before the Forbidden City in Beijing, Jingjiang Palace is a miniature version of the Imperial Palace in Nanjing, highlighting Ming Dynasty architectural brilliance. 🏯
For 280 years and twelve generations, the Jingjiang kings called this palace home. Within the complex lies the Du Xiufeng Reading Rock, featuring ancient Cliff Inscriptions by Wang Zhenggong from the Southern Song Dynasty. Among these inscriptions is the renowned phrase "Guilin landscape world first," marking the beginning of Guilin's reputation for its stunning scenery. This phrase is deeply intertwined with Guilin's history and culture, capturing the region's beauty and charm. 🌄

Mesmerizing Li River 🏞
Yangshuo is one of the five most beautiful scenic places in China. With that, the best, most beautiful, and more ideal way for both a transfer and a sightseeing experience during your natural scenery exploration in Guilin is to take the Li River crouse from Gulin to Yangshuo (However, there is no Li River cruise back from Yangshuo to Guilin at present.
Li River offers the best chance for your complete appreciation of the picturesque Guilin Karst mountain landscape in total leisure. With the soft breeze, you will encounter the marvelous scene of the Nine-Horse Fresco, a famous lively image on the back of the 20 RMB note. There are two comfort levels of cruises 3 stars and 4 stars.
Suggested:
I suggest staying 1 or 2 nights in Gulin and then taking an early morning cruise to Yangshuo and staying another 2 days there.
How to book tickets:
To book the Li River cruse tickets, you can book through the official platform of Li River Cruise, however, which can only be completed on the Official Account on WeChat.
You can buy the ticket on site at the dock. However, the cruise tickets are sold out very quickly during peak season from April to November. Therefore, you are still suggested to book the Li River cruise ticket in advance.
Visitors booking Li River Cruise by your own need to collect your tickets at the 3 specific sites in Guilin:
Site 1: No.9 West Lane, Zhengyang Road, Guilin (桂林市正阳路西巷9号)
Site 2: Entrance of Parking Lot in Xiangshan Park, Minzhu Road, Guilin (桂林市民主路象山公园停车场入口)
Site 3: 1F, Xiangshang Mansion, No.31 Canluan Road, Guilin (桂林市骖鸾路31号湘商大厦一楼)

Guilin: Longsheng sunrise at rice terraces
Longsheng is famous for its beautiful rice terraced fields and ethnic villages in mountainous areas. The well-known Longji Rice Terraced Fields were built along the mountains slopes wind from the riverside up to the mountain top.
You need to take a bus from Guilin to Longsheng to get here. it’s a perfect place for a relaxation. Just enjoy the scenery, observe the local people and they are lifestyle. Wake up early in the morning and go to watch the beautiful sunset that you will not probably see anywhere else. Local food is amazingly fresh and delicious.
We went there in the end of May when the fields were filled with water which reflected the sky and the sun. As for me I think it’s the best time to observe the terraces. However, they say November is also good as the fields turn gold and the view is also breathtaking.#guilin ##Longsheng ##riceterrace#china #trip
Lijiang Rover 🛶 Raft boat Tour
#falltrip
It is always impressive when we get closer to those spiky big mountains and being on adds an immersive experience! 🏔️
.
we decided to go from Xingping village to the famous 9 horses mountain 🐎.
I have to say it wasn't my favorite trip, I expected more.
Our hotel had a deal for about 200rmb per person that includes pick up from our hotel in the West Street Area (45 min to Xingping) and return. Not a bad deal but still not sure if it is worth the money 💰.
.
It is mostly nice to be surrounded by nature in a quiet raft boat without crowds around.

One of the prettiest places in China
📍 Yangshuo, Guilin, Guangxi Province 📍
if you have been in Vietnam before, this will remind you Ninh Binh ! it is amazing to just grab a scooter and ride along the river and through the city!
The rental is sooooooo cheap, just 40rmb, whole day, an electric scooter that can ride 200km with a full charge 🤯.
don't miss that opportunity to explore the countryside and admire the beautiful rice fields!
I recommend staying in the West Street area where at night is full of life with bars, restaurants and so many street shops open until late 😁
there are so many activities to do around, 4 days is enough to see everything you want 👌🏻

Elephant Trunk Hill Park
Elephant Trunk Hill Park is a lovely place to visit even on a wetter day. The park meanders around much of the lake, and while it can be very busy in places, it is not hard to find peace and quiet. The views from the top are fantastic, and the views of the main rock from across the lake are lovely. Not worth a specific trip, but definitely a nice extra if you are in or near Guilin.#guilin #Elephant #parks #lakes
3 Weeks in China! ✈️🇨🇳👍
#timetotravel #china #shanghai #chinatravel #xian #chengdu #guilin
With borders and visas finally back in action, it’s a great time to travel to the vast and beautiful lands of China. Filled with history, culture, scenery and incredible food to boot, spending three weeks here can disappear in the blink of an eye.
So how best to spend your time?
5 days in Shanghai (you can have a day trip to SuZhou here) - here you can see Nanjing Road, The Bund, the French concession, Jingan Temple, Xuhui district and much more
4 days in Xian - obviously the biggest sight to see is the Terracotta Warriors which will take a whole day. there is also a show at the city walls in the evening which shouldn’t be missed and food in the Muslim quarter
4 days in Chengdu - the pandas if that’s you’re kind of thing. Chengdu is a great place to chill, get lost and drink lots of craft beer! Go to the Tibetan area!
5 days in Guilin (you can have a day trip to Yangshuo here) - The lakes, the caves, the rice terraces, Yangshou and a show
I travelled with my 60+ year old dad and aunt and we took the train between cities - it’s a lot but it’s not impossible!!
Stunning Yangshuo Courtyard with a view ⛰️
Yangshuo has been my go to summer getaway destination for the past three years, it’s relaxing, slow-paced and stunningly beautiful.
The Giggling Tree/Gegeshu hotel is nestled away from the town centre/West Street area and easily accessible by moped (plus you get to enjoy riding through some of the most breathtaking scenery en route).
The beautiful rustic courtyard is away from the street and far enough from the crowds of West Street that you feel really at peace here.
The full English breakfast set came with a coffee and a juice for 50rmb and is a welcome taste of home. I sat in the courtyard under an umbrella and read my book over breakfast one morning and it was really tranquil. Some of the staff speak English and are really helpful, and their menu is also available in English.
Even if you’re not staying here, I would recommend coming for a coffee or a meal in a relaxing environment.

Moon hill in Yangshuo, Guilin
Entrance ticket: 20 RMB
Climbing time: around 60-80 minutes in total
Location: Yangshuo, Guilin, China
When: June 2023
Moon hill is a perfect hill to climb for everyone. It takes around 30-40 minutes to climb this hill. There are stairs till the top and a sightseeing platform at the top of the hill. It was rainy when we went there and even though it was a bit slippery we still were fine. The scenery from the top is great. There is a restaurant at the bottom of the hill where you can enjoy your meal while looking at the beautiful hill.

Karst Mountains in Yangshuo
We took a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, absorbing the beautiful views of the karst mountains from the water. Then we stayed at an inn outside of the old town so we could spend some quiet time relaxing and exploring the countryside. There were hiking trails through small villages, along fruit orchards. I also hiked to a little 500-year-old bridge and up some mountains for the gorgeous views. Street vendors are available all over to provide snacks and refreshments.

Yangshuo
Yangshuo is situated around 2 hours away from Guilin which has an airport. To get to Yangshuo, you can either get a taxi or a river cruise (which is lovely when the weather is nice). Yangshuo has a national park with lots of lovely views and wonderful B&Bs at very affordable prices. Outside of the National park, there is a cultural square that has bars, restaurants and shops which can get very busy. It’s a perfect place to visit in April/October outside of the rainy season and the most popular activities including walking, cycling and activities on the river #yangshou #Amazingpics #guilin #travel #china #cycling #nature #mountains
Stunning views at Ruyi Peak!
When travelling to Yangshuo I highly recommend visiting Ruyi Peak.
Enjoy a scenic cable car ride up to where you reach the cross suspension bridge.
Once you've crossed the bridge there are stairs which take you up to the peak point where you can get a stunning view of the mountains.
You can then make your way down to the glass walkway bridge to take some photos sitting on the bridge.
The hike will take you about 2-3hrs total.
It was a beautiful day but extremely hot! So I suggest carrying sunblock, a hat, and water bottle.

Guilin River Cruise!
Route: Get picked up from your Guilin hotel and travel on a boat for three hours to picturesque Yangshuo town.
The boat journey is definitely one of the top tourist sights in the whole of China. The experience of standing on deck and sailing past these unique karst mountains is surreal but beautiful. Get your cameras ready to shoot some photos.
Tip: When you arrive in Yangshuo, stay the night and enjoy the culture there.

The Waterfall Hotel!
Hotel Name: Lijiang Waterfall Hotel
Location: The center of Guilin, Guangxi province.
I stayed in this unique hotel for two nights in the summer. The hotel is in the perfect location for walking around this picturesque city of Guilin.
It is beside the shopping streets and beside the famous park with the two pagodas.
The view from the hotel is absolutely fabulous and you can see the pagodas. The hotel itself has a waterfall running down the side.

Yangshuo | Guilin | China
Another rock climbing spot with routes for all levels - First timers to Pro. Yet, Yangshuo is one of those places that seems to have something for everyone.
Spent 7-10 days during 3 different trips there and I discovered new Yangshuo experiences every single time.
You can enjoy a very local (touristy) night life on its main road (west street), grab a coffee in cute cafés across town, overdose on mangoes, #china #guilin #chinatravel stop for an excellent pizza at Demo on your way for a river swim at Double Beach, explore some caves while abseiling, grab a scooter to ride the famous loop or get some height with a hike, if you decide to see the area from a different angle.
If Yangshuo’s is still too busy for you, you can also check out other small villages a couple of km from Yangshuo with plenty of guest houses. Tranquil stays guaranteed.
I don’t like visiting places more than once since there are so many other places to experience, but Yangshuo is that one place that just made me change my mind.
Picturesque Caves in Guilin
Reed Flute Cave is a cave-based scenic spot located in the northwest suburb of Guilin, Guangxi, China, 5 km from the Guilin city center. It is about 240 meters (787ft) deep and 500 meters (1640ft) long. The cave has a great number of various exquisite stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars and stone curtain, which have been forming since 180 million years ago. Guilin is a wonderful city to visit and if it is raining or sunny, this is a suitable place to visit.
If you take a taxi from the center, you will arrive here in fifteen minutes. The entrance fee is not expensive and you can wonder around taking wonderful photographs to see the different colours and textures. Suitable for going with families too.
Tip: Bring a light jacket because it can be chilly - around 17 degrees.

Rooftop Hotel with a View!
Located in the northeast of part of Guangxi province in south China, Guilin is considered to be the pearl of China's thriving tourist industry on account of the natural beauty and historic treasures. Covering an area of about 27,800 square kilometers (10,734 square miles), the city is rather compact when compared with other major travel destinations in the country.
I decided to stay at the Boyard Hotel hotel. This hotel offers breathtaking views from the hotel's rooftop. I went during sunset and sunrise to take absolutely breathtaking photos of Guilin city and the Karst mountains.
The breakfast at this hotel is also great. Western food and Chinese food - excellent coffee and cakes. The view from the 14th floor of breakfast is also wonderful and you can spend several hours admiring the view whilst eating a scrumptious breakfast.

One afternoon in Guilin
Started our new year road trip from Guilin in Guanxi province on our way to Sichuan. I walked out of the hotel and found a Meituan electrical bike so that I could explore a bit around town. I also hiked up the little Diecai hill to see the city from the cave. around 15 min walk up. and I had to pay 25 rmb as a foreigner but the Chinese don’t have to pay these days.
The mountains that surround the city are stunning to watch, I never get tired of the view. #newyearadventure #guilin #travel #explore #china #guangxi

Longji Rice Terraces
Longji Rice Terraces Scenic Area is very large and have 3 main villages. From Guilin it's around 1 and half hour drive. There is a big parking place and then electric car drive you to the hotel. You can spend one or two nights there and enjoy in a view and amazing nature. Food is also very good, try some local dishes and there is a lot of hotels with a good view from the room. Try to go there when it's not holiday so you can enjoy in peace and feel that vibe to maximum. #longjiriceterrace #guilin #mytripvlog
A trek to Longji Rice Terraces
#china #guilin #wintergetaway
Visiting Longji rice terraces was one of the top things on my list on my last trip to Guilin. We went during winter season, so the terraces were filled with water and reflected the warm sun as we hiked up the hills to see them.
We loved not only the beautiful views, but also the hospitality from the local minority people who walked us there and also fed us in their home with traditional bamboo cooked rice.
Rice Terraces in the Autumn-Sun
Longji Rice Terraces, translated to Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces, have its name because the rice terraces look likw a dragon and the mountain range behind looks like the backbone of a dragon. They are maybe the most famous rice terraces in China, close to Guilin city in Guangxi.
I've been there twice, once in summer and in autumn. Autumn was more cooler and easy to hike.
📍 Longji Rice Terraces, Guilin, Guangxi
🏨 I recommend to sleep inside the scenic area for one night, in this case you can see the sunrise and also the sunset. So beautiful!

Raidens retirement vacation
Today we discovered Shangri-La in Yangshuo . basically it’s folk authentic park with beautiful scenery .
On the way to this place , my bike died but this fact didn’t stop me . I got the new one and continue my journey.
It looks quite boring from the start , but when you go deep you can acquaint with some local traditions in food , behavior , dressing etc .
Make sure your tickets include boat trip . I didn’t want to take it , but I didn’t regret . During the trip I saw lot of nature views , trees blossom . There are some checkpoints in the way where park stuff dance when they see new boat .
the main thing about boat trip was floating through the cave .
try to find a time and visit this place ☝🏻Enjoy 😇
P.S. for mortal combat fans : don’t forget to buy one of these Raiden’s hats 😄

“Husband”mountain or Xianggong Shan
Today I discovered another beautiful spot in Yangshuo - Xianggong Mountain . To be honest I expected longer climbing route , but in fact it took around 15 min to reach the top . At the top there is a gorgeous view of the Lijiang river - this is exactly what I drove here for more than an hour.
About the name . Local people told me that there is a tale that every woman who will reach the top of this mountain - will find a husband very soon . I’m
wandering if after that she will come one more time ? Will she find second husband ? or third ?😂
P.S. If you guys will live nearby or will have free time , you should come here and enjoy at least this stunning view .
Enjoy🙏🏻

Wonderful Teahouse in Guilin Downtown
Zen Tea House close to the Seven Stars Park belongs to a very nice Japanese style hotel in the center of Guilin city. The hotel is very nice, but you can also visit their Café/Teahouse as a non-hotel-guest. It's a nice hideout from the busy downtown and you can relax a little from sightseeing.
📍 Dijiayuan Road 8 in Guilin, Guangxi Province
🍵 I recommend the Matcha Tea Milk, but the coffee is also very good! They have an inside area and also a small outside area with a small balcony.
💰 Prices are fine, calculate with about 50 RMB for two drinks for two person.

Back to Old Times - 'Xiong Village' in Guilin
During our last Guilin trip, we rented bikes and cycled around without any destination. After some hours we arrived in some very rural areas and found 'Xiong Village', or 'Bear Village', between Guilin city and Yangshuo. 🏞️
The village is very remote and most houses are empty, it looked like most of the population moved to newer districts. Nevertheless it was a great experience to walk trough old streets with buildings from another time. There even was a Gucheng style touristic street that is abandoned since years. Very interesting.
📍 If you want to visit the place, follow the location above, it's correct. Best way is with bike 🚴 or taxi.

Longsheng Rice Terraces in Guilin
Longsheng Rice Terraces, also called the Longji Rice Terraces are pocated in Longsheng Guilin. The distance to Guilin downtown is 77 km. Great view, minority villages, a cablecar and nice walking routes were on our to do list. 🍚🏞️
Longsheng Rice Terraces is actually a group of rice terraces, so you can stay one day or three days and it won't get boring... we stayed two days in a nice guesthouse.
🚍 From Guilin you can take a local bus or a small tourist vehicle, which will be faster. If you're a group, you can also take a regular taxi.
🎟️ Ticket to the scenic spot is around 80RMB.
