Royal Palace of Amsterdam 🏰🇫🇷
#europetrip
The Royal Palace of Amsterdam, also known as Koninklijk Paleis van Amsterdam, acts as the King's residence when he's in the city. Constructed in 1648, the building was a massive undertaking, requiring the sinking of 13,659 piles to support its grand structure. 🏰💫
Inspired by ancient Roman architecture, the exterior of the palace is classically designed, while the interior is lavishly furnished. The apartments are adorned with a plethora of reliefs, marble sculptures, ornamental details, and friezes, along with ceiling paintings by Ferdinand Bol and Govert Flinck, who were students of Rembrandt. 🖼️🏛️

Flower Power: My Bloomin' Fantastic Keukenhof
Alright, buckle up because I'm about to take you on a journey through a garden so gorgeous it'll make your Instagram explode with envy! Picture this: you step through the gates of Keukenhof Garden in Amsterdam and suddenly you're surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colors that would make even Monet jealous.
I'm talking rows upon rows of tulips in every shade of the rainbow – it's like Mother Nature herself decided to throw the ultimate springtime party! And let me tell you, the fragrance in the air? It's like a symphony for your nose. You'll find yourself stopping every few steps just to take it all in.
But Keukenhof isn't just about the flowers (although let's be real, they're pretty darn amazing). There are winding paths to explore, charming bridges to cross, and even a few hidden nooks perfect for a quiet moment of reflection. Oh, and did I mention the windmills? Because yes, there are actual windmills dotted throughout the garden, adding a touch of Dutch charm to the whole experience.
Now, I could go on and on about my favorite parts – like the mesmerizing flower mosaics or the themed gardens that transport you to different corners of the world – but honestly, you just have to see it for yourself. Keukenhof Garden is like stepping into a fairytale, and trust me, you won't want to leave!

Heineken experience in Amsterdam
A must-visit experience when you visit Amsterdam because Heineken is founded in Amsterdam! 😍 You get to see how they make their beer, learn their history too! Not only that, each person will be given 2 token for you to enjoy different Heineken beer! There’s the 0%, gold & silver! I personally prefer the gold beer, it’s thinner, smoother than the silver one! 🤣 Whole experience will take about 1.5hr.

Places to go in Amsterdam
Here’s three activities I did when visiting Amsterdam
• Keykenhof tulip gardens - A wonderful place to visit in the spring when the flowers are blooming, if walking around the sculpted gardens isn’t for you, you can also hire bikes or a boat and go on a tour around the actual flower fields
• Hortus Botanicus - This botanical garden has a wide variety of plants and lets you discover butterflies up close. It has a nice cafe and is situated right on a canal making it a great place for lunch
Zuid-Kennermerland - After short train ride to Haarlem and then renting bikes, we cycled to the national park that’s located on the coast of the Netherlands. There’s so many paths to discover here, and we ended up over the dunes and on the beach, after grabbing a snack from the cafe here. It’s a safe easy place to cycle to and would be great for a family

I’d rather live in Amsterdam!
#fallingseason#amsterdam
Amsterdam is a one-of-a-kind destination. The picturesque canals, vibrant tulip markets, and friendly locals made our trip truly memorable. Amsterdam - Venice on the north🏖️⛲️
#wheretogo #amsterdam #netherlands #veniceonthenorth
As 1 of the most popular tourist destination in Netherlands, Amsterdam has been named as Vernice on the North due to more than 30% of waters covering the surface of entire city and its citizens have been living with it for over 700 years.
Travelling here, I would recommend:
- Take picture with the magnifient Amsterdam central station that opened on 1889.
- Rent a bicycle to explore the city (make sure you always on the bicycle path so that you wont crash with the tram on the road😰😰)
- Take the tram to go to different areas in the city.
- Visit the museums such as Van Gogh museum but make sure you book it in advanced 1st because we missed out this place for not buying ticket earlier.
- Explore the red light district at night. 💃🏻💃🏻
- Take a 1 hour canal cruise to experience and sail past the beautiful heritage building.
Tip:
Do not really recommend to visit in Sept as it is raining season and we almost got wet in the rain everyday during our visit 🥶

Canal Cruise, the best way to explore amsterdam 🇳🇱🚤
#timetotravel
Amsterdam is a city known for its long waterways (if you look at the world map, the aerial view of Amsterdam is like that of a spider web). Therefore, the best way to explore the Amsterdam Canal is via a Canal Cruise!!
When I visited Amsterdam back in July, I booked the Canal Booze Cruise with a local operator called “We Are Amsterdam & Starboard Boats”, as the name suggests, the cruise provides free flow alcoholic drinks which is superb.
As I was solo travelling, at first, I thought it might be weird to get onto the cruise by myself. However, the operator, the guide and other passengers have proven me wrong.
The guide did a very good job at explaining the history of Amsterdam and what I can conclude after the Canal Cruise is that the Dutch were poor designers and architects. It is because they used to build houses with wood and a fire had burned all of the houses, and the same accident happened twice in history. I was also told that the “Dancing Houses” on Damrak Canal was formed because the Dutch built the houses on stilts which caused it to wobble, tilt and sink into the river.
As I was sitting next to a group of Vietnamese girls from the States, we began having conversations and I made friends with them!
The cruise lasted around 45 minutes, and I wouldn’t mind for it to be longer!!

Historical Amsterdam museum
Museum-hopping in Amsterdam is really convenient as many of their famous museums are located within the vicinity of one another in the borough of Amsterdam South. This one we visited was the Rijksmuseum, showcasing mainly the artworks and heritage symbols of the Dutch.
The entry tickets are fairly pricey, costing around 24 euros per adult, but the artefacts on display are very aesthetic and meaningful. There was even a huge notebook for the public to pen their hopes and well-wishes based on the theme of one of the art pieces!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoy your drink in minus 15 degrees celsius 🥶🍻❄️
I booked tickets online and it costs around 228 HKD, the ticket comes with two drinks inside the ice bar (you can choose either shots or beer) and one drink outside the ice bar (i choose a gin and tonic because you can never go wrong with it 🤷🏻♀️) I would say this package is quite worth it.
The ice bar is a pirate themed bar 🏴☠️, the staffs got really into character during the briefing and a video was played to let us understand the story behind the ice bar, which was fun!!
When it was time to go in, we were asked to get into a queue where we were handed out thick puffer jackets 🧥 and gloves 🧤 to be used inside the ice bar.
As mentioned we can pick 2 drinks to enjoy inside the ice bar, I picked two shots because they are unique only to this ice bar!! The drink was served in a ice sculpted cup but too bad i forgot to take a picture 😩 since it was really cold inside and i could not use my phone with the gloves
There was a photographer inside the bar that help us take pictures with our drink but turns out you have to pay for the digital prints which was a let down :( But other than this, I had so much fun!!

Cheap Beer & Big Fries!
Took a trip to Amsterdam & while the country is not the cheapest, it is nice & the public transport was good. The Beer was cheaper than Apple juice here & the fries were €6 for a decent portion.
I didn’t see much of Amsterdam’s sights but being able to get around easily & enjoy the weather was great for me. When I come again I would probably plan more time as my trip was rather short. #amsterdam
A DAM good weekend!🇳🇱
Recently returned from an awesome weekend away in Amsterdam! I visited Ripleys believe it or not, Tony’s Chocolonelys, Body Worlds, Vondel Park, Red light district etc! We stayed at the Alexander hotel which was beautiful, perfect location and short walk to the centre, the staff were wonderful and breakfast was basic but lovely! Trams around the city are very easy to navigate. We also did an evening canal cruise which I highly recommend as seeing all the lights around Amsterdam was incredible. I would 100% go back and visit Rotterdam next time😁#amsterdam #vondelpark #adventure #travel

Amsterdam
As a Singaporean, visiting Amsterdam was a truly freeing experience. I’m not just talking about the fact that w**d and v*pe devices are legal there, or the proud displays of the 🏳️🌈+ flags, but the lack of overly modern buildings and the abundance of flora and fauna. Vines and flowers seem to grow everywhere with little to no trimming! Wide canals lined with bicycles and cars and occasionally, people having a meal (just be sure not to fall in!)
Speaking of bicycles, don’t ever wander into the bicycle lane or cross it without looking both sides twice, the locals there don’t play around and they cycle really fast.
Everything is within walking distance, or you can choose to take the public transport. Public restrooms are a bit tricky to find, so download the Flush app if you’d like. But most restaurants have them available (with a 0.5-2£ fee to use depending on the place). #amsterdam #summervacation #celebratewithtrip

Stayed in this service apartment for 4 nights. It is such a great place as we are able to cook and you can also do your laundry at the first floor.
