Tsim Sha Tsui Eel Specialty Store
This small shop located in Tsim Sha Tsui specializes in eel, with a wooden interior design. We chose two types of eel rice boxes, both of which were exquisitely presented.
First is the Eel Kaleidoscope for $98, with beautifully arranged slices of eel and a soft-boiled egg in the middle, served on rice with shredded egg.
The Salamander Bowl for $198 is another signature dish, with a generous portion that's enough for two people. The giant eel is thick and covered in a rich sauce, making it perfect for social media. Underneath the eel is a thick layer of egg, making it quite satisfying.
For an additional $30, you can get a soft-boiled egg, pickled vegetables, eel liver and white clam soup, and genmaicha tea. We added one set meal. There is also hot water available for drinking.

🪿Chess Piece Roast Goose🪿
Craving roast goose, I always think of the highly popular 'Chess Piece Roast Goose'. I adore the unique aroma of roast goose, and they insist on using 5-pound mother geese raised without antibiotics for their crispy skin and tender, juicy meat with a rich, oily fragrance. Today, I made a pilgrimage to their branch on Carnarvon Road, where the display window is filled with freshly roasted meats, irresistibly fragrant 😋
For two people, we naturally ordered the most cost-effective set meal for two, which for only $248, includes their famous roast goose, another roast meat of your choice, Chinese broccoli, two servings of rice or vermicelli, and two servings of soup or drinks 👍🏻👍🏻
🪿▪️ Chess Piece Roast Goose Signature Dish
Luckily, the chef gave us the goose breast portion 🤣. The roast goose skin is glossy and when bitten into, there's a smoky flavor. The skin is crispy, and there's a thin layer of fat between the goose meat and skin that's rich and overflowing with flavor. The goose meat is well-seasoned, tender, and juicy, and goes perfectly with a mouthful of fragrant rice.
🐖▪️ Single Mix Roast Meat Signature Dish
For the other roast meat, we chose char siu, which was equally outstanding. The char siu's surface is charred to a delicious crisp, with a perfect mix of fat and lean, tender and full of honeyed flavor 😔
🥬▪️ Countryside Chinese Broccoli
Eating roast meat, you must have Chinese broccoli to balance the greasiness, and this set meal really is well thought out 👍🏻
🍚▪️ Choose Two Servings - White Rice/ Vermicelli/ Rice Noodles/ Ho Fun
🍲▪️ Choose Two Servings - Traditional Soup or Hot/Cold Drinks

🍴🍽🍴🍽🍴🍽🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍴🍽🍴🍽🍴🍽
A few days ago, after finishing a class in Tsim Sha Tsui, I wanted to find a place to sit down and have dinner with friends. However, the area was packed with people 🤦🏻♀️ so we walked a little further to find a place to eat in Hung Hom. Avenue75 caught my attention with their cocktail menu, which features six signature cocktails, each with a story explained through pictures and text. I was impressed to find that the cocktails and the wall paintings in the restaurant complement each other, both featuring different countries' art and culinary cultures, successfully blending art with fine food and drinks 🥂
🥢Lobster Sauce Seafood Linguine $128 🆗
The lobster sauce is not too strong, making it easy to eat, and the linguine is also very chewy. The seafood includes large prawns, squid, and mussels, all of which are fresh and surprisingly, the squid is served whole!
🥢Osaka Sauce French Fries $75 🆗
I love both Osaka-style food and French fries, so this Osaka-style sauce French fries was perfect for me 😋 The fries were crispy and served with sweet salad dressing and Osaka sauce, which disappeared quickly from the plate 🤣
🥢American Asparagus Garlic Butter $48 🆗
The asparagus was seasoned with garlic butter, making it very flavorful.
🥢Ukiyo-e $110 🆙
I spent a long time choosing from the six signature cocktails, but finally settled on Ukiyo-e, which I found to be the most easily drinkable. This cocktail is made with rum as the base, mixed with jasmine green tea sake, plum wine, yuzu juice, and natsu mikan, and has a layered taste. You can first taste the alcohol, followed by the sweetness of the yuzu, making it a refreshing drink 😋

The popular Japanese restaurant [Kuro-Mon Suizan] has opened a new branch in Causeway Bay, which is super spacious and decorated with a full Japanese style, just like the Tsim Sha Tsui branch. Leisurely afternoon working away from the office
The perfect location to work out of office, whether you’re working from home or a freelancer. Spacious seating, white interior decorations and delicious food. Their large cup of coffee can let you chill as you work hard.
My partner has said they do one of the best matcha latte in town, thick and balance in the flavour 💚
The Salmon Benedict was delicious and I personally love grilled chicken and avocado with sweet potatoes 🥑
I strongly recommend this NOC at The Wai Shopping Centre at Tai Wai. Just above the MTR station, convenient and comfortable.
Note: Their air conditioning is a bit strong 🌬️
Bring a coat if you’re afraid of the chills after a long sitting.

Quick Yakitori Fix
《博居酒屋 Petite》
Petite is an intimate izakaya on the street full of bars in Prince Edward. I was enticed by its atmosphere and u-shaped counter.
We ordered two different sets:
🌼雛菊
•銀杏 Gingko
•ナス Eggplant
•ネギマ Chicken & scallion
•砂肝 Chicken gizzard
•ソーセージ Chicken bone-in pork sausage
•イカしそロール Shiso squid roll
•ネギ牛 Beef with green onions
🍁紅葉 Momiji
•椎茸 Shiitake mushroom
•薩摩芋 Sweet potato
•月見つくね Minced chicken with egg yolk
•しそ豚 Shiso Pork
•黒豚ネギマ Kurobuta & scallion
•ホタテ Scallop
•牛タン Beef tongue
Food was served very soon upon order. Was thinking about having beer or shochu, but their efficiency left us no time lol. The seasoning for a few skewers was a bit too heavy for me which was compensated by the fresh cherry tomatoes, juicy veggies sticks and fresh cabbage.
My favorites included
Gingko - could tell from the shape that they used Japanese gingko. Not bitter at all.
Kurobuta pork belly - beautifully layered fat and meat. Good sear on the surface.
Onigiri - pipping hot, very crispy on the outside like the burnt rice of claypot rice
Overall good variety of each set menu, and I recommend this restaurant to you if you need a real quick kushiyaki/yakitori fix!

花椒八角 Hidden Heat
Went shopping at the Tung Chung outlets but didn't wanna settle for expensive mall chain restaurants. Looked up google maps and spotted the newly opened Hidden Heat.
To my surprise, this restaurant not only provides Sichuan cuisine but also hot pot and grill!
We went for the grill option. Most meat dishes were only $68 with a good portion. Seafood like mussel and oyster were also available. Served with chili powder, cumin powder, salt, pepper and minced garlic. My favorite was no doubt grilled lamb with cumin and garlic!
Strawberry smoothie and mango smoothie - refreshing and balanced sweetness. Thirst-quenching.
Barwang the Wall Chardonnay 2021 - fresh notes of peach and citrus. Good acidity.
Osmanthus jelly topped with mango - comforting treat after eating lots of meat.
Fair prices, attentive staff, comfy seats. Would revisit for the spicy dishes!
