Lingang quest: Haricots
Haricots Coffee is located in Harbour City Plaza Fitness in Gangcheng Square, Lingang New City. Also known as Chaquexing.
This coffee shop is also a fast food and steak restaurant, depending of the time of the day, inviting for a brunch. It’s located in second floor, but easy to spot. Ambience is nice, a bit rustic and spacious. Music is also quite inviting to chill for a moment.
Bakery was starting around 9:30am, I supposed because I found no pastry 🥐 or bread available despite the fact the kitchen seemed busy. My coffee, I found it a bit expensive for a blend, specially in Lingang area. However, there were no many coffee shops or restaurants available either.
On the other hand, my friend really liked his bubble tea. Cakes 🎂 look good, but not a big fan of sweets in the morning.

Lingang quest: Dishuihu’s sculpture park
Lingang new city is located in southeastern Shanghai, rapidly developing into a gorgeous and beautiful city surrounded by green areas, Dishui lake, canals, wetlands and Nanhuixincheng beach.
If you are going around the Dishui lake you might find very areas of shadow (desperately, in a very hot summer morning) and rest. This scenic spot is the best in all Dishui Lake China Masters Theme Sculpture Park.
This spot gives you the whole view of the lake and a nice view of Dishuihu West Island (although is under construction and we were not able to enjoy it that much). It has a public bathroom, extremely important if you’re walking around this area.
We found lots of people taking pictures, eating ice creams and children playing freely. This is the major shadow spot, so most people stays around here. This morning was a little too hot.

Lingang quest: A kiwi rest by the lake
Lingang new city is located in southeastern Shanghai, rapidly developing into a gorgeous and beautiful city surrounded by green areas, Dishui lake, canals, wetlands and Nanhuixincheng beach.
If you are going around the Dishui lake you might find very areas of shadow (desperately, in a very hot summer morning) and rest. Kiwiana restaurant it’s not only located within the Lingang New City Main Urban Area City Park (for some reason, this area has a very long name and it’s divided in units), but has this amazing view of the lake.
This New Zealand style restaurant is an amazing option to explore, restaurant architecture and ambience is beautiful. Also, it’s located among the area of sculptures, so you can go for a walk after
your meal. We didn’t eat here because of time, and My companion’s reluctance to try foreign food. However, I’ll definitely will be coming back soon. Food looks delicious.

Lingang quest: Noodles
Lingang new city is located in southeastern Shanghai, rapidly developing into a gorgeous and beautiful city surrounded by green areas, Dishui lake, canals, wetlands and Nanhuixincheng beach.
A few steps from the lake you can find Shangu Noodles, very crowded place and highly recommended. Plates are big, ambience is calm and try to give an old Beijing city impression (according to my Chinese friend). Although, we found the noodles to be a bit salty.
Considering this area is still under construction, you find many empty buildings or relatively expensive restaurants, therefore this is still a good option near the lake. During a very hot summer day, walking around this area with very little shadowing or resting spaces, you just take what you get.

Lingang Quest 7: Shopping Festival
Any plans for this long weekend? Come to visit the Dishui Lake and Lingang’s Shopping Festival! This festival has many games and food available for people visiting Dishui Lake and willing to have a lot of fun this weekend.
Lingang New Area has a extension of 5.6km, mostly characterized for commercial buildings or research facilities. Nevertheless, this festival target to increase tourism, showing the public the beautiful coastal area so near from Shanghai downtown and all the fun activities you can do here.
Dishui is the largest artificial lake in China. It’s diameter of 2.5km forms a perfect circle. This festival goes from metro exit to bordering part of the Dishui lake. Tjere were not many people when I came, but seems the festival extended for few days.
And you get a very nice surprise! There were several vending machines for ice cream, fruits salads and cotton candy controles, so you get your order served by tiny cute robots!

Lingang Quest 4: Dishui Lake
For an amazing one-day trip near the city, come to Dishui Lake. Lingang area is located in Southern coast of Shanghai. With an area of 2.5km diameter, Dishui is the largest artificial “freshwater”lake in China.
However, you can smell the salt in the air, probably due to beach proximity fresh and salty water mixture was inevitable. Did I mentioned the beach is also a couple kilometers away to make this day a full summer experience? Or to consider staying for the weekend.
If you want to make it an adventure, you are welcome to go around the lake in bicycle, motorboat 🚤 , sailing ⛵️ or even fishing 🎣 (leisure only). Best time to visit the lake is during summer, in winter becomes a cold, windy and cloudy area.
You can also enjoy a nice ice cream or coffee by the lake, a nice place to enjoy with family or for a romantic date. This is a place I continually visit to boost my energy after heavy work weeks.

Lingang Quest 5: Sushi
Lingang area is located in Southern coast of Shanghai, by end of metro Line 16. Although, feels like a completely different city. Worths the visit!!
Shitamachi is a sushi restaurant located in Shanyuan Rd shopping mall, next to Shanghai Maritime University. Place is quite nicely decorated, waitresses always pass by you to check if you have enough fruity tea with your food or give you tips on how to enjoy your meals even more. For example, to eat your mochi hot, if not will get too hard to eat (2nd pic, middle dish).
First pic it’s liver sushi, quite delicious, but too small. Shiitake mushrooms had a great flavor, also the takoyaki (octopus) balls were amazing. We got a second takoyaki dish on the house, very appreciated. Chicken rice came with miso soup, very delicious too, yet we were too full to fully enjoy it.
Shitamachi also has a big variety of drinking options. Just not for a Thursday afternoon. Will be back soon!

Lingang Quest 2: Queen Imagine coffee
Nothing like short summer trips to explore those areas near you you didn’t knew about. Lingang area is located in Southern coast of Shanghai, by end of metro Line 16. Although, feels like a completely different city. Lingang has limited access for vehicles, a bit isolated from the city and public transportation. Yet, there are many places to visit and enjoy, much more affordable than Shanghai downtown.
Queen Image is a small coffee shop with super cute cakes. You can either share it with a coffee or take it home. One of the most popular shops among students. Even myself, not so much of a sweet tooth, couldn’t resist to bring a cupcake home. Rainy season started, not much option to sit down but doesn’t mean cannot be enjoyable later. And it was as delicious as it looks. Probably will visit again soon to try another one of these cuties. Probably the ‘Love’ tiramisu.
