NOT A HOTEL Fukuoka
#fukuokatrip
Anyway, the staff was very hospitable, the room was a nice space (and above all, the sound quality of the speakers was excellent), and when I chatted with the operator on the app, I got a reply right away, so I was very impressed with the smoothness and hospitality. thank you.The four of us ate a mizutaki dinner (reserved on the app) in a room called Atelier, and there were many types of appetizers and side dishes, and it was more delicious than eating at a restaurant, and they paid attention to every detail.

Chikae Fukuoka
#fukuokatrip
One of the highly recommended live seafood restaurant in Fukuoka. A popular tourist destination.
There are English menu- a plus point for tourists. Not all staff know English. Thankfully, we had no issue with the ordering of the food. There was a few staff that understood English.
An unforgettable meal! Very nice and yummy sushi sets. Not too much and not too little, just right. However, tempura, karage average. Great service and traditional Japanese decor. Recommend for sushi and seafood lovers. Prices on the higher side.
The Royal Park Canvas Fukuoka Nakasu
#fukuokatrip
This time, staying in Fukuoka again, we spent three consecutive nights at The Royal Park Canvas Fukuoka Nakasu. The hotel opened in 2023 and the rooms are 22 square meters.
Located by the river, our room was on the Sky Floor, 13th floor (the hotel's highest is 14th floor), and it's a corner room, offering a distant view of Fukuoka Tower. The windows are surrounded by a window ledge, so we often sat there enjoying drinks.
This time, we opted for the breakfast package. The hotel's breakfast arrangements were thoughtful, offering three options: 1. Buffet breakfast at the restaurant, 2. Lunch at the lounge until 3:00 pm, 3. Packed breakfast box (but you need to inform them by 7:00 pm the night before). We had buffet breakfast for two days and a brunch today at 12:00 pm, as we were preparing to go to the airport. We chose the Japanese-style brunch; the fish roe rice was delicious, and because of this brunch, we would consider staying at this hotel again. 🙂
The hotel also offers a thoughtful service of purchasing their breakfast, which includes drinks in the evening from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the lounge or bar, including soft drinks, fruit juices, desserts, red and white wine, and sake.
Lastly, the hotel has a large communal bath, as well as a coffee bar and ice cream. The mango ice cream was delicious, so staying at this hotel means we don't have to buy desserts or drinks. 😆
P.S. There are cherry blossoms near the hotel, so we could see them every day when walking around the streets. ☺️

Kiwamiya Fukuoka Parco Store
#fukuokatrip
The wait was 60 minutes but was well worth it.
The patty was so juicy and the shop knows what is the best to go with the meat: egg and their sweet house sauce. Argh, so satisfying. And the staff is so kind and attentive despite the heavy customer load. They even offered to heat up the hot stone twice with such kindness and they would make sure customers would have their coats hung during the meal.
Tori Mabushi
#fukuokatrip
This restaurant is very popular and famous for not only Hitsumabushi, a Nagoya specialty made with eel, but Hakata's specialty Hitsumabushi, made with Hakata chicken!
If you want to make a reservation, you can only make a reservation for the course, so make a reservation for the course on that day!
Reserve the [Dontaku Set] where you can enjoy torimabushi and Hakata mizutaki!!
The crispy skin of local chicken and the fat of the chicken are really delicious!
If you go to Fukuoka, you absolutely must try this!
Kazulog 5-star certification for stylish and good atmosphere.
Hyotan Sushi
#fukuokatrip
This is a place that I saved on Google
Map to go to while in Fukuoka. It was not until the third attempt when the queue was more manageable that we managed to get in after queuing for about 30 minutes. I finally understood why the queue was long - friendly service and quality sushi at an affordable price. Unfortunately the Uni Sashimi was not available, so we had to settle for Uni Sushi. But overall it was a satisfying meal.
Orenofurenchi Hakata
#fukuokatrip
I ordered 9 dishes including crab pasta which is not pictured. Including a bottle of champagne and each drink, the bill was approximately 20,000 yen. The portions of each item were large, making it very filling for 4 adults. They are all delicious. The meat is perfectly grilled. Live music is also available during dinner. Food and drinks came out quickly. wonderful! There is also a lunch course.
Overall, I am satisfied with the customer service, and I think it is the best value for money.

Great breakfast spot in a wonderful location with awesome ambiance!
Stumbled upon this place as we were walking around Fukuoka and decided to check out the menu for breakfast. So glad we did!
The ricotta pancakes were really delicious. But serving size as they come with 3 huge pancakes! The honeycomb butter was unique and tasty and the bananas and syrup complemented the dish very well.
Thank you for a great meal in a great location!

VILLA MINAWA
#fukuokatrip
A detached villa with an ocean view built on a hill where you can see the world heritage site "Okinoshima" from your room. This time I used it on a girls' trip.I was able to spend a relaxing time in a private space. The interior is bright and airy, and the interior and tableware are simple and stylish, giving a sense of the attention to detail. The amenities are also from the Thai-born natural brand THANN, and the towels are from Ikeuchi Organic, which are soft to the touch. Bath time is also soothing with a nice scent.Wifi is also available, so it was perfect for a workday!
DAIKANYAMA T-SITE
#fukuokatrip
My favorite bookstore in Tokyo. If you want to get various kinds of art or fashion books, this is the best place. They have also many English fashion magazines. All customers are stylish.
There are fewer children, so you can enjoy your time quietly. But it’s not a good place for families with small children. There is Starbucks on the ground floor a cozy cafe, and a shared lounge upstairs.overall awesome
Sequence Miyashita Park
#fukuokatrip
Excellent location, attached to the Miyashita Park mall with an abundance of stores and restaurants, close to Cat Street shopping. There's a park on top of the mall. Easy to catch a taxi in front of the hotel. Minimal service hotel, no concierge, cleaning every 2 days etc. Hotel has 2 washer/dryers which was nice. Rooftop bar is gorgeous but for some reason mostly empty. The Cafe in the lobby is convenient and usually bustling. The windows in the rooms amplify the sound from outside, but the main noise is from the train, and it didn't bother us. It was nice to have access to the mall on a rainy cold day when we didn't want to trudge through the weather for dinner.overall IT awesome
Not just a park but a hidden gem in Fukuoka
#fukuokatrip
What a hidden gem. Need to take a ferry and a bus ride to reach. But it’s worth it. It’s not just the flowers but the playgrounds and the interesting little shops. Can’t shout much about the food options.
Ferry frequency is once an hour; bus frequency is similar; so please plan ahead. Details are on their official website. Highly recommended! You can come every season!
Charm of Japanese springtime, Sumiyoshi Park🌸

Sumiyoshi Park in Fukuoka, Japan, blossoms into a fairytale realm during Sakura season. As cherry blossoms paint the landscape with delicate hues of pink and white, the park transforms into a mesmerizing paradise. Underneath the canopy of blooming Sakura trees, visitors are enchanted by the ethereal beauty and tranquility that envelops the surroundings. From serene strolls along winding paths to idyllic picnics beneath the blossoms, every moment spent in Sumiyoshi Park during Sakura season is a poetic celebration of nature's ephemeral splendor. For an unforgettable experience immersed in the timeless charm of Japanese springtime, Sumiyoshi Park is an absolute must-visit.
Suikyo Tenmangu Shrine
#fukuokatrip Fujiwara no Michizane is enshrined as a God of literature here in Suikyo shrine. The local place name "Tenjin" is derived from the name of this shrine. There were a few people and it was quite when I visited here. It seemed people drop in at Suikyo shrine to pray academic achievement.Small temple but quite relaxing. A quite area in the middle of the city.
They also is some fish there.
Sumiyoshi Jinja
#fukuokatrip Very peaceful shrine, even thought I went to the wrong place at first because there was no one. Good place to give your prayers and clear your mind. In between Tenjin and Hakata but it’s walkable.A small shrine that is nice to visit and relax in on your way to wherever you are going. No need to go out of your way to see it though, because there's not really much to see. But if you are in the area might as well pass by!
Kushida Shrine
#fukuokatrip Very accessible shrine to visit in Fukuoka. Not as crowded as other famous shrines in Tokyo and you could still walk around and have your own space. Very well decorated but doesn’t seem like a tourist destination. I guess Fukuoka is just a more quiet and peaceful city.Kushida Shrine, a Shinto shrine, created from year AD 757, has its beauty and greatness with simplicity and tranquility in design.
The Shrine has Zodiac Ehoban or Zodiac Sign hung on the ceiling of the entrance gate.
Its Kazari Yamakasa, 山笠, is on permanent display at the courtyard all year round [except June], which is full of traditional Japanese artist techniques, skills, and colors. A Yamakasa for Japanese folk religious practice is a portable shrine to carry a deity during a festival. Then, there are two types: the Kazari yamakasa (decorated floats) and Kaki yamakasa (carried floats for worships and riutals).
The Shrine is free for entrance, and it is popular with tourists and visitors who are in Hakata area for shopping in Gion section.
Momochihama Beach🫶🏻
#fukuokatrip
It's a pretty beach park, and there are several places to eat. It's not very big so I thought it would be crowded in the summer. Momochi Beach is said to be the place where Machiko Hasegawa invented Sazae-san, and there is a road nearby called Sazae-san Street.
This is also a popular place for couples and families! It's beautiful both at night and in the morning!
Futami Rock
#fukuokatrip This is definitely the rockier side of the island with a nice smooth alongside the coastline. I only passed by on a cycling tour but it was definitely the better part of my trip thanks to the beautiful view and sweet shade during the hot day.
The waves were taken at a calm dusk.
The sea is clear and it is a subject that changes its expression depending on the angle of view.
There was a bird on the rock next door...
Hakata Port Tower
#fukuokatrip The tower offers a good view of the town, and sea.a free look out place to see the port and northern part of the fukuoka city. not as tall as i inagined but tall enough to have a birds eye view of the surroundings.
because its free, so there are many tourists, be prepared to line up and considering to others, by not taking too long using the facility. they would ask you to register where you are visiting from and a name.
It's free, so that's really good.
You can watch the speed boat race from here as well.
It's kinda hot and the air is smelling like the rubber floor - but it's free.
Tochoji Temple
#fukuokatrip Tochoji Temple, in Hakata, Fukuoka, is probably the first Shingon Sect Buddhist temple or the first Buddhist temple in Fukuoka or in Japan, after Kobo Daishi Kukai or Master Monk Kukai returned from China, in Tang Dynasty, to Japan and landed in Hakata, in 806 AD, and built the Tōchōmiji Temple, which is often called Tochoji Temple- nowadays.
The Temple was damaged by wars, fires, and other natural disasters, because it was built mainly in wood. Luckily, with the patronage of the 2nd Prince Tadayuki of the Kuroda family, which was the lord of the Fukuoka Territory, it became the Bodhi Temple of the Kuroda family, its main worship hall and other temple's facilities were funded by the Kuroda Lord. That is probably also the reason why there are burial section, with tomb stones of the Kuroda Family members in a rear corner section of the Temple.
The Temple is famous for its giant wooden Avalokitesvara Buddha statue, which is taller than 10.8 meters and is seated in the Side Hall which does cost a symbolic admission fee for entrance. While the main worship hall has a few statues, it seems that main worship hall is primarily used for worship and other religious or ceremonial services, including praying, funeral, and other occasions.
Inside the side hall, there is also a special pass way which is structured and composed of various paintings for showing life and events in the Hell and how believers can strive to work through the Hell tunnel to the Eternal world by doing good deeds, a reflection of Karma or something about rebirth.
The Temple is in short walking distance from West Side of Hakata Station. Except the Side Hall for viewing Wooden Avalokitesvara Buddha statue, the Temple is free of charge for entrance.
Marine World
#fukuokatrip The show in the main pool is a lot of fun. The staff does a really good job at getting the crowd involved. It also changes based on seasons I am assuming. When we went in the summer they got into the water with the dolphins, but when I went in the fall they didn't. The dolphins instead had different tricks. It was nice that it wasn't the exact same show.
The other smaller shows are very interesting as well. I really enjoyed it overall. My favorite tank is the really large one with the sharks! So peaceful to just sit and watch them.
You can also get really up close and personal with the penguins. Overall, I recommend it.
Fukuoka Art Museum
#fukuokatrip
I came initially for the Yayoi Kusuma pumpkin, and became pleasantly surprised with the old and contemparary Japanese artwork on display, particularly the woman shooting out cherry blossoms! It is a compact museum, just right for a leisurely experience. There was also a nice student art showcase (always good to support youth and the art)!
For ¥200 this place wayyyy over delivers. You can do the whole thing in an hour if you are in a hurry. There's even a yayoi piece located outside that you can see for free. Many of the exhibits do not allow photos but the ones that do still have signs posted.
Ohori Park Japanese Garden
#fukuokatrip Ohori Park Japanese Garden
A tranquil oasis in the heart of Ohori Park featuring traditional Japanese design, a serene pond, and picturesque bridges. Perfect for those seeking a moment of tranquility amidst the hustle of nearby Daimyo and Teijin. 250¥ entrance fee. The friendly staff and the entrance spoke some English too which was helpful. With half an hour to 45 minutes you will be able to see all of it.
Cafe Nodoka
#fukuokatrip
It's a shop where you can feel the attention to detail in handmade goods. I also think it makes sense for the content. I would like to go again if I was nearby.
I had iced coffee and gateau chocolat. Iced coffee is made with care over time and has a good balance of bitter and sour flavors, making it easy to drink. I also liked the owner's atmosphere of not talking more than necessary. I lost track of time and got distracted

Nice, cozy new coffee shop right across from the Shitennoji temple with great specialty coffee and amazing desserts to go with.
I got a hot latte and the opera cake. They also have cookies and pound cake.
Definitely recommend giving this place a go. And I will definitely be coming back again.

This is the only one in the alley! The cafe I was working at. It seemed like a place that also sold ice cream. If you go in the morning, they sell sandwiches and coffee as a set menu. We each have the coffee we want to drink! The coffee wasn't all that delicious, but it was enough to give me a Japanese feel.. ♡
