When people talk about Perak, Ipoh usually gets all the attention. But after spending a day in Taiping, I honestly think this charming heritage town deserves much more recognition. With peaceful lakes, century-old rain trees, colonial architecture, delicious local food, and a slower pace of life, Taiping quickly became one of my favourite towns in Malaysia. ❤️ My Experience The first thing I noticed after arriving in Taiping was how calm everything felt. There were no skyscrapers or busy shopping malls—just wide roads lined with enormous rain trees and people enjoying a relaxing morning walk. I started my day at Taiping Lake Gardens, and it instantly became my favourite spot. Watching the giant rain trees stretch gracefully over the lake created one of the most beautiful landscapes I've seen in Malaysia. I rented a bicycle and slowly explored the park instead of rushing from one attraction to another. The cool breeze, chirping birds, and peaceful surroundings made me forget about the busy city life. Later, I visited Taiping Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in Malaysia, before walking around the heritage streets filled with charming old buildings and local cafés. Before leaving, I couldn't resist trying Taiping's famous hawker food. The gardens boast lush greeneries, vibrant water lilies, flowers, lake views. Beautiful lake and garden that is locals favourite and one of the famous tourist attraction in Taiping, this place is highly recommended for nature enthusiast and photographers! I really love these 2 beautiful historical sites, a must-visit for history, architecture and photography aficionados. The All Saints Church(Gereja All Saints) is a unique wooden church with Gothic architecture design in Taiping, Perak. Founded in 1886 and consecrated in 1887, it is the oldest Anglican church in Malaysia. The Taiping Clock Tower would have been Taiping’s main square. It was popularly known as The Fort among locals. It was later rebuilt in 1891 as a fortified stone building. This local lake is a hidden gem that's truly a testament to the wonders of nature's resilience and community care. The scenery here is nothing short of breathtaking. Love this restaurant that serve a lot of western food. There are two floors. A banqueting place is specially prepared on the upper floor which can accommodate approximately 20 adult family members. Usually this place is a hot spot for foodies and couples and families. Have a wide selection of local and western cuisine as well as a few choices of cakes. The lamb shank is good, nice marination. But they serve with a whole lot of mash potatoes underneath I do not know for what. We also ordered crazy chocolate milkshake, it is so nice and sweet. The toilet are clean, they even have Muslims prayer room. I drove a motorcycle to Kuala Lumpur and made a brief stop at the Taiping Highway rest stop. The greening project of the rest stop is quite outstanding, and the surrounding environment is quiet and pleasant. Here I found all sorts of delicious food and drink to satisfy my hunger and thirst. Moreover, the toilets in the rest stop are very clean and sanitary, making people feel comfortable. Overall, it was a pleasant place to stop and made the trip more relaxing and enjoyable. Now the trees have to be proped up to preserve it. ❤️It is a Good thing that cars are not allowed to drive through under the cars!!! There are many paths for walks, exercise and even bicycles for rent. There are cycle boats for rent to ride on the lake. ❤️This Garden has been well taken care of and lots of beautiful greeneries good for photos. I Saw White flamingos and you can White Dots on trees in the evening when the flamingos nested.
