In its heyday, it employed more than a thousand people and has a vibrant history, and the buildings have been kept as authentic as possible. It has now been transformed into a high-end hotel and art center. Perfectly located next to the wharf, it's the perfect choice for a weekend getaway in Hobart, with easy access to the ferry to MONA and many restaurants. This hotel is very unique. There are many artworks to appreciate. It also has its own art gallery, and guests can take part in customized historical art tours. We had a room with a stunning sea view and the bed was huge and super comfortable. Very quiet, which exceeded our expectations. There were iPads to control the room facilities and a modern stunning bathroom!

But because I wanted to relax during the holidays, I booked a hotel to stay so I could relax. This time we stayed at the Movenpick Hotel, located in the city center, which was really convenient, 5 minutes from the pier and a supermarket nearby. The rooms are quite large, 300 feet, and the toilet is full of space. The bed was big enough and really comfortable. The hotel also has a free chocolate day from 3.30pm to 4.30pm daily with chocolate style food items to eat, although the quantity is small, but quite tasty. So if you go to Hobart, you might as well choose this one.

This hotel was great for a weekend staycation, especially its is within walking distance to Salamanca Saturday market! It located at the quiet part of the Hobart city but yet walking distance to all the attractions spot! Staff were super friendly and they really doing a great job maintaining the property, it’s clean and give you a young vibe! The bathroom was a real surprise with a fab rain shower and wall mounted shower, great for a hot shower after a day out! The restaurant bar was fun and modern and we do have our breakfast there, the variety is ok but food does taste good! Would definitely stay again next trip we come to Hobart. #staycation

Dinner was at Bar Wa Izakaya—absolutely delicious, with friendly service (just note, some dishes take a bit longer, so don’t go if you’re in a rush). After dinner, I headed out to Port Arthur for the Ghost Tour—spooky, fascinating, and a highlight of my trip! To wind down, I checked out the Green Room Bar at Wrest Point (which was pretty quiet for a Saturday night), then moved to the Birdcage Bar where the live music and vibrant atmosphere made for a perfect end to the night. We ordered salmon cream cheese bagels, croissants, cheese platter with a coffee and a local sparkling wine. The cheese platter did not disappoint, with a variety of choices, balanced flavors, and excellent wine. As for the salmon bagel, it was more ordinary, the bun was not crispy enough, the overall taste was okay but no surprise. The croissants are crispy and delicious, worth a try. Overall, the Deco Lounge has a comfortable and quiet environment, perfect for those who want to have a relaxing chat or sit down and enjoy a drink. However, there are not many food options, mainly light meals, so don’t expect to feel full. It’s also a good option if you’re staying at or passing by the Tasman and want to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.

#March Good Places 2025 Inside the Mövenpick Hotel in Hobart, we had a very satisfying dinner at the Tesoro restaurant. As an Accor Plus member, the happiest thing is that you can enjoy 50% off the whole food order, which is extremely high value! Speaking of the food itself, it was a surprise! We especially love their creative Citrus Bubbles Oysters, which are fresh and slightly tart, with a layered mouthfeel and flavor. The Squid Ink Risotto is a masterpiece, the rice is cooked just right, rich but not greasy, one of the few that is done so well. The overall environment and atmosphere were good and the service was very professional and friendly. Whether you are an Accor Plus member or a regular customer, Tesoro is a high-quality restaurant worth a try!

This time on my trip to Hobart, I stayed at Swissotel Hobart, and as a Platinum member, I was very satisfied with the overall experience! First of all, the hotel's location is very convenient, right in the city center, within walking distance to Salamanca Market, the wharf, or the MONA ferry. The room design is modern and comfortable, clean and tidy, with a great sense of space, making the stay very comfortable. As soon as I entered the room, I saw the welcome gift prepared by the hotel: a beautifully arranged fruit and chocolate platter, which made me feel their sincere hospitality towards members, with every detail well taken care of. Overall, Swissotel Hobart is satisfying in terms of service, location, and room quality. If you are an Accor member, it is definitely worth a try, with high cost performance and VIP treatment. Highly recommended!

#March Good Places 2025 This time I stayed at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Hobart, and the overall experience was great! Because we are a Marriott Platinum member, they helped us upgrade our room when we checked in. We also gave us breakfast for two and welcome wine, which was super courteous! The most surprising thing was that we arrived around 10am and they actually arranged a room for us right away, which was very touching! The rooms are stylishly designed, well-equipped, and have just the right view of the pier with great views. The whole stay was really chill and relaxing, and for a hotel of its level, the price was reasonable and good value for money! And it's also a historic hotel! If you are planning a trip to Hobart, it is highly recommended to try staying at The Tasman!
