How many nights do you actually need in Cappadocia? The real answer depends less on the hotel-night count—and more on your flight times, airport transfer, balloon mornings and sightseeing plan. ⏳ 2 NIGHTS Two nights can work when: ✓ You arrive early enough to use Day 1 ✓ Your departure is late enough to protect Day 3 ✓ Airport transfers are confirmed ✓ You choose one main sightseeing plan With a late arrival or early departure, two nights can shrink to only one meaningful local day. 🌄 3 NIGHTS For most first-time travellers, three nights offers the strongest balance. You normally gain: ✓ Two central sightseeing days ✓ More than one potential balloon morning ✓ One organised tour ✓ One flexible exploration or recovery day ✓ Less pressure around airport transfers 🎈 BALLOON REALITY Book the first available morning when flying matters. Not because the first morning has better weather—but because a later morning may remain available if the first flight is cancelled. An extra night creates another opportunity. It does not guarantee: ✗ Daily operating approval ✗ Suitable weather ✗ A replacement seat ✗ The same launch area or flight path Always check the operator or booking platform’s current cancellation, refund and rebooking terms. 🗺️ RED, GREEN OR INDEPENDENT? Red and Green are useful market labels—not fixed official routes. Always confirm the exact stops before booking. 🔴 RED-STYLE DAY Best for a more compact central overview. Typical priorities may include: ✓ Fairy-chimney landscapes ✓ Viewpoints ✓ Museums or open-air sites ✓ Avanos or nearby village stops ✓ Less regional driving than a Green-style day 🟢 GREEN-STYLE DAY Best when an underground city, Ihlara Valley or Selime genuinely matters. Expect: ✓ More road time ✓ A longer day ✓ Stairs and enclosed spaces ✓ A selected valley walk rather than the full canyon Travellers who are claustrophobic, have difficulty with stairs or dislike long road days should check the itinerary carefully. 🚶 ONE TOUR + ONE FLEXIBLE DAY For most three-night trips, this usually creates a better balance than automatically booking both colour tours. Use the flexible day for: ✓ Göreme Open Air Museum ✓ A shorter valley walk ✓ Uçhisar ✓ Taxi-assisted exploration ✓ Rest after a pre-dawn start ✓ Weather recovery 📍 WHERE SHOULD YOU STAY? GÖREME The strongest short-stay and no-car default. Choose it for: ✓ Restaurants and tour agencies ✓ Common pickup convenience ✓ Local walking access ✓ Broad accommodation choice UÇHISAR Better for panoramic views, quieter hotel time and a more stay-led experience. ÜRGÜP Better for larger-town services, full-service accommodation and travellers using private transport or a rental car. ORTAHISAR Better for a quieter, targeted boutique stay with more dependence on arranged transport. For two or three nights, avoid changing hotels within Cappadocia. 🛏️ CAVE ROOM OR STONE ROOM? Check the exact room—not only the hotel description. Confirm: ✓ Window and natural light ✓ Ventilation and bathroom airflow ✓ Heating or air conditioning ✓ Stairs and luggage access ✓ Room-to-reception route ✓ Vehicle drop-off point A cave room may offer more atmosphere. A stone or conventional room may provide a more familiar layout, brighter windows or easier access. ✈️ NAV OR ASR? Nevşehir Airport usually offers the shorter road transfer. Kayseri Airport may still create the stronger complete journey when its flight timing, fare or connection is better. Compare: ✓ Flight arrival time ✓ Connection margin ✓ Shared-transfer waiting ✓ Hotel arrival time ✓ Final departure pickup Choose the airport that protects more usable Cappadocia time—not simply the one that looks closer on the map. 📸 WHEN DOES A 4TH NIGHT EARN IT? Add a fourth night for: ✓ Hiking ✓ Photography across several dawns ✓ Winter flexibility ✓ Poor flight timings ✓ Slower pacing ✓ Both central and distant route systems Do not add it only to “guarantee” a balloon flight. 📌 FINAL BOOKING ORDER FLIGHTS → USABLE DAYS → BALLOON MORNING → TOUR CHOICE → BASE → ROOM → TRANSFER Save this before booking Cappadocia. #Cappadocia #CappadociaTravel #Goreme #Uchisar #Urgup #HotAirBalloon #TurkeyTravel #TürkiyeTravel #CappadociaItinerary #RedTour #GreenTour #CaveHotel #TravelPlanning #JnATravelMoments

The day I landed in Istanbul, the air was filled with the scent of rosewater. I thought 30 days of visa-free travel would be enough, but after 10 days, I started checking if I could change my return flight – the romance here isn't just a filter, it's a feeling that touches your heart even when walking down the street. 🌉 Istanbul: A magical city, half European, half Asian Trip highlights: The dome of Hagia Sophia feels alive! Sunlight streams through the stained-glass windows, and even the patterns on the columns seem to tell a story 🕌; The 6 minarets of the Blue Mosque are incredibly impressive. Standing in the square, watching pigeons fly around the spires, time seems to slow down; take a ferry across the Bosphorus Strait, with Europe's red rooftops on one side and Asia's coastline on the other, enjoying the breeze and a cup of black tea. Itinerary: Day 1: Morning at Hagia Sophia + Blue Mosque (recommend going early to avoid crowds), afternoon exploring the Grand Bazaar (remember to bargain! Spices and lamps are highly recommended); Day 2: Take a ferry to cruise the strait, head to Galata Tower in the evening for sunset views, the night view from the top will bring tears to your eyes. Food recommendations: You must try the Turkish ice cream at the entrance of the Grand Bazaar! The vendor will playfully tease you before giving you a big scoop of pistachio flavor, so creamy it sticks to your lips 🍦; Don't miss the kebab stalls on the street corners. The lamb is grilled until it sizzles with oil, served with pickled cucumbers and flatbread, each bite is full of local flavor. 🎈 Cappadocia: Stay in a fairytale cave hotel Trip highlights: Waking up at 4 AM to chase hot air balloons is truly worth it! Watching hundreds of colorful balloons slowly rise from the valley, the sun painting the oddly shaped "fairy chimneys" golden-red – at that moment, all the early morning drowsiness felt worth it 🌅; Göreme Open-Air Museum houses thousand-year-old cave churches. Although the frescoes are faded, you can feel the warmth of history; the Red Line hiking trail passes through Love Valley, where the rocks are heart-shaped, and every casual photo is wallpaper-worthy. Itinerary: Day 3: Early morning hot air balloon ride (book 3 days in advance! It may be canceled due to bad weather), catch up on sleep in the morning, afternoon at Göreme Open-Air Museum + Love Valley hike; Day 4: Green Line day tour (includes canyon hiking, exploring an underground city – tiring but fun), watch the stars from the cave hotel terrace in the evening, the owner will offer apple tea, warm and cozy. Travel tips: Wear a thick jacket for the hot air balloon ride! It's cold in the mountains in the early morning; wear non-slip shoes for hiking, some sections are a bit steep. 🏛️ Pamukkale: A white wonder on the "clouds" Trip highlights: Pamukkale's travertine pools really look like cotton candy! When the sun is out, the pool water is crystal clear blue, cool to walk on barefoot, and you can see the travertine patterns at the bottom; The ancient city of Hierapolis is right next door, with Roman columns and a theater hidden among the ruins. From a high vantage point, you can overlook all of Pamukkale, the collision of history and nature is absolutely stunning. Itinerary: Day 5: Morning exploring the ancient city of Hierapolis (ticket includes Pamukkale, don't waste it), lunch at an ancient city restaurant for grilled fish, afternoon playing in the water at Pamukkale (remember to bring a swimsuit!), evening for backlit photos, the travertine pools will turn golden. Travel tips: You can only walk barefoot in the travertine pools, don't wear slippers! The bottom is a bit rough, walk slowly. 🌊 Antalya: The blue of the Mediterranean is a healing color Trip highlights: Kaleici historic district is like a mini Venice! Cobblestone streets are lined with colorful houses, bougainvillea blooming at the entrances. When you're tired of exploring, sit at a seaside cafe and watch the Mediterranean waves crash against the city walls; Duden Waterfalls are amazing, flowing directly into the sea. Standing on the viewing platform, seeing the "sea and waterfall" in the same frame, your phone memory will be full from all the photos. Itinerary: Day 6: Morning at Kaleici Old Town (buy handmade carpets and ceramic trinkets), afternoon at Duden Waterfalls + Mediterranean beach (bring a book and lie on the sand, the sea breeze will turn the pages for you). Travel tips: The sun is strong by the sea, remember to apply sunscreen; you can bargain at the small shops in the old town, don't be afraid to ask! ✨ Pre-trip thoughts Visa: Visa-free! Just grab your passport and go, 30 days is plenty. Currency: Use Lira, some places accept Euros and US dollars, prepare some cash (small shops may not accept cards). Language: English is generally sufficient, download a translation app, a simple Turkish "thank you (teşekkürler)" can help build rapport. Best time: April–May, September–October! Avoid summer (meltingly hot), spring and autumn temperatures are just right, and hot air balloons are more likely to fly. Flipping through photos at the airport on the day I left – the morning glow of hot air balloons, the dome of the mosque, the reflection in Pamukkale... It turns out romance isn't just an adjective, it's an everyday thing in Turkey. I'll come back next time to make up for the kebabs I didn't eat enough of and the sea I didn't see enough of!

The hotel is hidden on the hillside of the town, offering great value at just over 300 per person. Right downstairs is an outdoor pool and garden. The rooms are caves directly carved into volcanic rock. Lying in bed, you can see the unique rock valley outside the window. The rose-colored sky at sunset is stunningly beautiful. In the early morning, opening the window reveals hot air balloons drifting across the sky. The toiletries have the scent of local Turkish olive oil. Breakfast includes freshly made Turkish pancakes, honeycomb, dried apricots, and fresh cream. The lobby features a fireplace and antique rugs. The hotel has a great sense of style.

Hello, friends! I'm back from my autumn escape to Turkey and I'm thrilled to share my excitement. If you think the season ends in September, you're sorely mistaken! October in Kemer is perhaps the perfect time for a vacation. The sea is still warm (perfect for swimming), the sun is gentle, and the sweltering heat has subsided. You can sunbathe and swim all day, and stroll along the promenade in a light jacket in the evenings. But most importantly, it's the perfect base for excursions! And one of them completely changed my perception of Turkey. I've long dreamed of Cappadocia. Those "Martian" landscapes from films and photos, mysterious cave cities, and, of course, magical hot air balloon rides at dawn. And now my dream has come true! From Kemer, we set off on a long bus journey. The journey, including lunch stops and short excursions along the way, took about nine hours. Yes, it's long, but the view outside the window changed dramatically: from the turquoise coastline to the rugged and majestic mountain ranges and, finally, to the surreal valleys of Cappadocia. In the evening, we checked into a unique cave hotel in Goreme, the very heart of the region. Goreme is more than just a town; it's a living museum and the best base for exploring Cappadocia. The atmosphere here is incredible: stone houses carved into the same cliffs as the ancient dwellings, narrow streets, and the feeling of being transported to another reality. Early in the morning, while it was still dark, we were driven to the launch site. What happened next felt like a ritual. Even in pitch darkness, the giant spheres began to come to life to the roar of gas burners, tearing the night with flashes of flame. It was powerful, grandiose, and a little surreal. Our platform was elevated, and we could see dozens of fireflies lighting up all over the valley. When the balloon finally hovered in the air, we were invited into the gondola. Important lifehack #1: before landing, I asked the pilot which side would offer the best view for photos. He pointed me to a specific compartment. It saved my shots! Having found the right position, I got an unobstructed panorama. I advise everyone to consult with the pilots! And so we lifted off. And all around... Magic. Dawn began to break, and over 200 multicolored balloons rose into the sky with us. It was an incredible sight—as if giant soap bubbles had been released into the sky among the Martian landscape. And then the sun came out, and the valley was illuminated with gold and pink light. I still have goosebumps! What is Cappadocia and why is it like this? These landscapes are millions of years old. It all began with the eruptions of ancient volcanoes (the most important of which is Mount Erciyes, almost 4,000 meters high and clearly visible from many points). Ash and lava formed a soft tuff layer. Then wind and water took over, carving this rock into bizarre shapes. Harder basalt caps protected the tuff columns from complete destruction, creating the famous "stone mushrooms" or "peribajalars" (fêe chimneys). Nature, the sculptor, worked for millennia, and the result is before us. What did we fly over? Our experienced pilots masterfully maneuvered, lowering the balloon into gorges and lifting it above plateaus. We flew over famous valleys: · Love Valley: known for its... er... phallic rock formations. • Pigeon Valley: thousands of pigeon nests carved into the cliffs are visible. · Imagination Valley (Devrent): Here, the rocks resemble camels, seals, and Santa Claus. · Uchisar Castle: the highest rock formation-city. From the ground, it's a gigantic "stone fortress," riddled with windows and passages. From the air, it looks like a majestic beehive crowning the entire valley. This is the region's main observation deck! We weren't alone in this celestial ballet. Below, on the observation decks, tourists were taking photos of us, safari jeeps were speeding past, and guests with cups of hot coffee peered out of the windows of cave hotels in Goreme. A complete symphony of travel! Important lifehack #2: I didn't stop taking pictures. The phone was the first to give up, then the camera. Bring a power bank and spare batteries! And a neck pouch for your phone—it's so high, the adrenaline is pumping, you'd hate to drop it. The flight lasted about an hour and culminated with a pinpoint landing right on the truck bed! It was truly aerobatics. On the ground, a traditional champagne ceremony and certificate presentation awaited us—a commemorative certificate for conquering the skies of Cappadocia. And after the flight, it's time to discover earthly wonders! Be sure to visit the Goreme National Park and Open-Air Museum with its ancient cave churches and frescoes. And, of course, descend underground to the Cappadocia Underground Cities, such as Derinkuyu or Kaymakli. These are grandiose multi-level complexes where people hid from raiders, entire cities with ventilation shafts, churches, wine presses, and cattle pens. The scale is staggering and makes you wonder about the incredible ingenuity of the ancient inhabitants. How to plan such a trip? 1. From Kemer/Antalya: The most popular option is a 1-2 day bus tour. The journey takes 8-10 hours. To save time, you can take a domestic flight from Antalya to Kayseri or Nevsehir (about 1 hour). 2. From Istanbul: definitely fly to Kayseri or Nevsehir (1.5 hours). 3. Independent vs. tour: A tour eliminates logistics and often includes a night in a cave hotel in Goreme or Uchisar. Traveling independently gives you more freedom. 4. Hot Air Balloon Ride: The price varies greatly depending on the season. High season (June-September, holidays) is more expensive (from 250-300 euros). Low season (winter, late autumn) is cheaper (from 150-180 euros). Book in advance! 5. The main rule: flights are entirely dependent on the weather. Strong winds or rain can cancel flights. In October, the weather is generally stable and there are many flights. This trip proved that Turkey is more than just an all-inclusive seaside getaway. It's a country with incredible depth, history, and stunning natural wonders, such as the rock cities of Uchisar, the ancient monasteries of Goreme, and the labyrinthine underground cities. Cappadocia in October offers comfortable temperatures for excursions, warm sea water in Kemer upon your return, and the fulfillment of a childhood dream. I will definitely come back here again. Maybe in winter, to see these valleys covered with snow... Have you ever dreamt of drifting through the clouds while witnessing a breathtaking landscape unfold beneath you? My recent hot air balloon experience in Cappadocia, Turkey, was nothing short of magical, made even more special as we celebrated my husband's birthday amidst the clouds. Rising with the Dawn: The adventure began before the first light of day. Our group gathered in the chilly pre-dawn darkness, excitement palpable in the air. As the hot air balloons were being inflated, the hiss of gas and the vibrant glow of the flames created an atmosphere of anticipation. With the first rays of sunlight painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, we ascended into the dawn, leaving the world below in quiet stillness. Floating Among Fairy Chimneys: Cappadocia's unique landscape is dotted with fairy chimneys, towering rock formations that resemble something out of a fantasy world. From the hot air balloon, these geological wonders took on a surreal quality, casting long shadows across the undulating valleys. It was like drifting through an otherworldly painting, each moment revealing a new facet of Cappadocia's charm. Dancing with the Wind: One of the most remarkable aspects of the hot air balloon experience is the sense of serenity that accompanies it. Floating high above the ground, the only sounds were the occasional blast of the burners and the whisper of the wind. The pilot skillfully navigated the balloon, allowing us to gently drift over the landscape, offering a 360-degree panorama that left us awestruck. Sunrise Splendor: As the sun continued its ascent, the landscape below transformed. The valleys were bathed in a warm, golden glow, revealing a patchwork of vineyards, orchards, and quaint villages. The intricate details of Cappadocia's terrain became increasingly clear, and the whole experience took on an ethereal quality that is hard to put into words. A Sparkling Toast in the Sky: The climax of our hot air balloon adventure was a traditional Sparkling toast upon landing. Touching down in a field, our skilled pilot expertly guided the balloon to a gentle stop. As we stepped out of the basket, the crew greeted us with glasses of Sparkling, marking not only the end of an unforgettable journey but also a special celebration for my husband's birthday. If you ever find yourself in Cappadocia, don't miss the chance to embark on a hot air balloon adventure, especially if you have a special occasion to celebrate. It's an experience that transcends the ordinary, offering a unique perspective on one of the world's most captivating landscapes. From the pre-dawn inflation to the Champagne celebration at the end, every moment is etched in my memory as a testament to the beauty and wonder that can be discovered when soaring above Cappadocia, making it an extraordinary birthday celebration for my husband. At 2am in Cappadocia, I was hungry and unable to sleep (chicken & egg situation). Tried finding restaurants that were open around my area (Göreme, where most of the tourist spots and the cave hotels reside) but nothing was open. Found this restaurant "Konak Kebap Çorba" in Google Maps, among other restaurants. It was a ~20min drive in pitch black unlit country roads, so I was reluctant to head down. However, I did not regret it as the food was very well seasoned & perfectly cooked, and the prices were local Turkish rates (not tourist trap prices). Best of all, it's open 24/7 so your supper cravings can be fixed nicely. After the hearty meal, I took a stroll around the neighbourhood. It was quiet and peaceful to walk around. #valentinescape #mytripvlog #tripblazers #awesomepic #resort #foodie #turkey #passionpassport

When you visit Turkey, you should at least try to stay at one of the cave hotels. It was a new experience to be in the room with deem light and concrete rock all around. Such a romantic or scary vibe in room but surrounding area are great! Breakfast here is also international standard which I can take bread, eggs, ham and cheese. Truly an enjoyable breakfast with view. Walking around there's another cave building. Look like very plain on sight but actually amazing experience inside and within the area. #createwithtrip #cave #hotel #turkey #discoverturkey #urbanexplorer #turkeytravel #exploreturkey

Cappadocia—The Hot Air Balloon Town Floating in the Sky When people talk about the "hot air balloon town," they are usually referring to the town of Göreme in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. It is not a man-made theme town, but a fantastical landscape sculpted by volcanoes, wind, rain, and human civilization. Every day before dawn, the sleeping town of Göreme gradually awakens. Massive hot air balloons are ignited and inflated in the valleys, and accompanied by the roar of flames, colorful balloons slowly rise into the sky. As the first rays of sunlight crest the ridges, hundreds of "fairy chimneys," rock canyons, and ancient caves are bathed in gold. The scene before you feels less like Earth and more like a dream floating among the clouds. A masterpiece millions of years in the making The area around Cappadocia was once home to multiple volcanic activities, which formed vast stretches of soft volcanic tuff. Through long periods of weathering and erosion, the rock layers gradually transformed into spires, stone pillars, mushrooms, and chimney-like shapes, which locals romantically call "fairy chimneys." Hot air balloons are such a perfect match for this place because, when viewed from above, the winding canyons, layered hills, and strangely shaped rock pillars form a complete picture. The morning light constantly changes the colors of the rocks, from grayish-blue and pink to golden yellow, offering a different view every minute. A thousand-year-old civilization hidden in the rocks The wonder of Cappadocia goes far beyond hot air balloons. Early inhabitants discovered that the tuff was relatively soft, so they carved homes, churches, monasteries, and storage rooms into the mountainsides. Around the 4th century AD, Christian monks began establishing cave settlements here, and many cave churches still preserve frescoes from the Byzantine period. To escape war, people also dug massive underground cities. The Derinkuyu and Kaymakli underground cities extend deep into the earth, featuring living quarters, kitchens, ventilation shafts, worship spaces, and defensive passages, resembling another city hidden beneath the ground. Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia were inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1985. UNESCO introduction Must-visit experiences · Göreme Viewpoint: Perfect for enjoying the sunrise and the ascent of hot air balloons; even if you don't ride one, you can still capture photos of the sky filled with balloons. · Göreme Open-Air Museum: A concentration of cave churches, featuring the most representative frescoes and religious relics. · Love Valley: Famous for its uniquely shaped, towering rock pillars, ideal for hiking and photography. · Rose Valley and Red Valley: At sunset, the rock walls display spectacular shades of pink, orange-red, and golden yellow. · Uçhisar Castle: Carved into a massive rock, it offers a panoramic view of Cappadocia from the top. · Underground Cities: Witness the wisdom of ancient people living and seeking refuge underground. · Cave Hotels: Staying in a room converted from a cave is the most unique accommodation experience in the region. A deep description worth sharing The beauty of Cappadocia lies not only in the colorful hot air balloons in the sky but also in the land beneath our feet, sculpted by millions of years of time. At dawn, hot air balloons drift over fairy chimneys and ancient canyons; deep within the rocks, cave churches and underground cities still preserve traces of life from a thousand years ago. This place possesses both the incredible craftsmanship of nature and the wisdom left behind by humans facing time and war. Coming to the hot air balloon town is like temporarily leaving reality and stepping into a dream woven together by volcanoes, morning light, and history.

If you're visiting Cappadocia for the first time, it's best to base yourself in one place for two nights and explore the fairy chimneys, cave churches, and underground cities by area. The key is to pick the right place to stay first, then use three days to follow a complete route. If it's your first visit and you want easy access to restaurants and local activities, prioritize Göreme. It's centrally located, close to the Göreme open-air museum, and has more accommodation and restaurants. If you prefer quiet and value elevated views, consider Uçhisar. If you'd rather stay in a town that feels more like everyday life, consider Ürgüp. For a short first trip, stay in Göreme for two nights so you don't have to move your luggage just to change the vibe. When booking, check practical details such as whether the room has a window, stairs, and luggage assistance. You can reach Göreme from Nevşehir by bus, minibus, or taxi. Check connections based on your arrival time. Day 1 | Göreme village and cave churches Göreme's advantage is that accommodations, dining, and the cave sites are all concentrated, making it a good place to first get familiar with the landscape. After you arrive, settle into the village, walk the streets to see local restaurants and cave dwellings, and for your first meal choose common Turkish dishes such as kebab, pottery-baked dishes, or gözleme. If your arrival allows, go to the Göreme open-air museum and focus your time on the rock-cut churches, monasteries, and frescoes. Take your time at the sites inside the museum. Don't just take a photo at the entrance and leave. Between attractions and the village, choose to walk or take short vehicle transfers depending on how you feel that day, and check return transport and opening information before you leave. Day 2 | Zelve–Paşabağı and Avanos This area showcases clusters of fairy chimneys and riverside towns. Start at the Zelve–Paşabağı site, walk through the open areas to observe the rock pillars, cave dwellings, and valley scenery. The exhibits here are different from those at the Göreme open-air museum, so this site is suitable as your main stop for the day. Then head to Avanos, walk along the riverside, check out the pottery traditions and shops, and find a local restaurant for lunch or a snack. Don't assume there are convenient walking connections from Göreme to these spots. If you don't drive, choose a local day tour that covers the area or confirm minibus and taxi connections in advance. Don't try to cram multiple distant stops into one day at the last minute. Day 3 | Uçhisar and underground cities Uçhisar is a good place to finish with a high viewpoint. Start around Uçhisar castle, climb for views of the volcanic rock formations, then, depending on your fitness, choose a section of Pigeon Valley to walk. The valley paths are uneven, so wear shoes with good grip and plan your return via the same route or a pre-confirmed exit. If your return schedule allows, visit Derinkuyu underground city as well: it's a multi-level underground residential complex with narrow passages, so people prone to discomfort may want to skip it. The underground cities and Uçhisar are not suitable to link on foot. If you haven't rented a car, consider a local tour that includes both sites or arrange a vehicle separately, then head directly to the airport or station according to your booking. Museum hours, site access, and transport connections can change, so check official pages for current information before you leave. If a hot-air balloon ride is a priority, confirm weather cancellations and pickup arrangements with the official operator.

Just got back from Turkey with a sunburn and a cold... I'm honestly telling you, if you're thinking of going in September–October, think again! It's not that Turkey isn't fun, it's just that there are so many "downsides" to this time of year. Let me explain... · ✨ First, the good stuff: These places are truly worth visiting! Even though I ran into some issues, Turkey's romance is undeniable. Here are the must-visit highlights: ▫️Istanbul: Standing under the dome of the Blue Mosque, watching the sunlight stream through the stained glass, it feels like time slows down. You must climb to the top of the Hagia Sophia, and the sunset over the Bosphorus is breathtaking! Remember to haggle at the Grand Bazaar; the spices and lamps are so exotic. ▫️Cappadocia: Even if you don't get to ride a hot air balloon (I'll explain why later), you must visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum! Those thousand-year-old cave churches have so many stories hidden in their murals. Also, take a Red Tour; the Fairy Chimneys and Love Valley are perfect for out-of-this-world photos! ▫️Pamukkale: Walking in the white travertine pools with the warm spring water under your feet is super comfortable. Remember to bring a pair of flip-flops, as the bottom of the pools can be a bit sharp! The nearby ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, with its crumbling walls against the sunset, feel like traveling back in time. ▫️Fethiye: You have to try paragliding! Flying down from Mount Babadağ, the blue of the Dead Sea looks like a gemstone. The instructor will even help you take photos. It's a screaming, healing experience from start to finish. · 📅 How to plan your itinerary? Here's a 10-day route that doesn't backtrack. If you must go during this time, don't rush your itinerary! I tested this 10-day plan and it's just right: Day 1–3: Istanbul (explore the Old City + Bosphorus cruise) Day 4–5: Fly to Cappadocia (stay in a cave hotel + Red/Green Tour) Day 6–7: Bus to Pamukkale (visit the travertine pools + ancient city) Day 8–9: Fly to Fethiye (paragliding + Dead Sea beach) Day 10: Return to Istanbul for your flight home · 🚗 Transportation: Flying is the best way to travel between cities! Domestic flights in Turkey are cheap and time-saving (for example, Istanbul to Cappadocia is only 1.5 hours). Buses are cheaper, but they take 6–8 hours, and you'll be too tired to enjoy yourself. · 🍢 Don't miss the food! You must try these local flavors: ▫️Mixed grill: Beef + chicken + lamb, served with yogurt sauce and naan. It's finger-licking good! ▫️Testi kebab: The beef stewed in a clay pot is super tender, and the aroma when you open the lid is amazing. ▫️Turkish ice cream: Don't be fooled by the vendor's "dramatic" tricks! It's super creamy, and you must try the pistachio flavor. ▫️Apple tea: Available at street shops. It's sweet and refreshing. If you're not a fan of coffee, give this a try. · ⚠️ Here's the main point! Why don't I recommend going in September–October? 1️⃣ The weather is too "bipolar": It starts cooling down in mid-September. In Cappadocia, it's only around 10°C in the morning and evening—wearing a down jacket isn't an exaggeration. But at noon, it's scorching hot. The travertine pools in Pamukkale will burn your feet. You'll need to change outfits 3 times a day! 2️⃣ It's insanely crowded: Around China's National Day holiday, it's full of Chinese tour groups. The queue for the Blue Mosque is at least 1 hour, the Grand Bazaar is so crowded you can't move, and hot air balloon companies are fully booked every day. You can't even get a good time slot if you book half a month in advance! 3️⃣ Prices are skyrocketing: Airfare is 30% more expensive than in the off-season. Cave hotels are 2,000+ per night, and you can't even book one with a terrace. Even restaurants are starting to "overcharge tourists," and the value for money has plummeted. · If you really have to go during this time, promise me: bring a light down jacket + short sleeves! Book your hot air balloon 1 month in advance! Arrive at popular attractions before 7:00 AM (like Pamukkale, it's less crowded and not as sunny)! · In short, Turkey is truly beautiful, but going in September–October is a bit like "paying to suffer." If you can avoid these two months, your experience will be twice as good! I hope this post helps you! ·

I've stayed at many cave guesthouses in Cappadocia, but this one truly offers a rich, immersive experience that touches the heart✨. The hotel was originally an 11th-century Byzantine monastery. A thousand years of history are etched into the rock walls. Staying here feels like falling asleep with history as your pillow. The authentic cave structure requires little air conditioning, naturally warm in winter and cool in summer. During the day, it blocks out the outside heat, and at night, the cave interior is warm and comfortable, letting you fully experience the unique charm of stone cave architecture. The courtyard pool is the highlight of the entire hotel, surrounded by layers of flowers and greenery, like stepping into a romantic fairy tale garden. Sitting by the pool, feeling the mountain breeze and gazing at the oddly shaped fairy chimney rocks in the distance, the vacation relaxation instantly reaches its peak. The service here is especially warm and generous. The manager often upgrades guests based on room availability and offers welcome wine, adding a strong sense of ceremony. From airport transfers and hot air balloon bookings to tour planning and spa appointments, everything is arranged in one seamless service, saving you the hassle of coordinating on your own and making your trip much easier. The daily Turkish breakfast is full of ceremony, with a large, abundant spread. Handmade jams, local honeycomb honey, rich fresh cream, paired with various cheeses, breads, and baked goods, all bursting with authentic local flavors. Enjoy your breakfast slowly while taking in the karst landscape and mountain views. The location is about a 15–20 minute drive from the center of Ürgüp, away from the noisy main street of Göreme, quiet and private. For just over 400 per night, you can experience a cave residence transformed from a thousand-year-old monastery. The facilities, views, and service are all top-notch, offering excellent value. Highly recommended for visiting Cappadocia. Lie on the terrace early in the morning and watch the sky fill with hot air balloons rising slowly. In the evening, watch the sunset dye the rock layers orange—this is the unique romance of Cappadocia.

This was our first time visiting Turkey. Planning the trip was quite overwhelming. Istanbul, Cappadocia, Antalya, Ephesus... we wanted to go everywhere, but once we started researching, we realized Turkey is much larger than we had imagined. Domestic flights, airport transfers, hotels, and transportation between cities all needed to be sorted out. We both love traveling but prefer not to make it too exhausting, so we opted for a small group tour with 2-9 people instead of going on a self-guided trip. Looking back now, it was a great choice for us. Here’s a recap of our experience: 01|Istanbul Upon arriving in Istanbul, we explored the old town, visited mosques, and took a boat ride to enjoy the breeze along the Bosphorus Strait. This city is truly magical—one moment you’re walking through bustling streets, and the next, you turn a corner and suddenly see the sea. Our first photo together was taken here. 02|Cappadocia Cappadocia was the part of the trip I was most excited about before we left. We stayed two nights in a cave hotel and visited the underground city, Love Valley, Pigeon Valley, and the Göreme viewpoint. My favorite moment was early in the morning, before sunrise, waiting for the hot air balloons. Watching the valley slowly turn golden as the balloons rose in the distance was far more breathtaking in person than in photos. 03|D400: A Day We Both Loved Driving from Antalya to Fethiye along the D400 highway was one of our favorite days. On one side were mountains, and on the other, the Mediterranean Sea. We passed by Kaş and Kaputaş Beach, and even just sitting in the car enjoying the scenery was delightful. We stopped at places we liked to take photos. 04|Fethiye If the earlier days felt like traveling, arriving in Fethiye felt like the start of a vacation. We dedicated a day to a boat trip, visiting Butterfly Valley, the Blue Cave, and Aquarium Bay. Relaxing in the sun, feeling the sea breeze, and sitting by the edge of the boat together was incredibly soothing. Afterward, we visited Pamukkale, Ephesus, and Şirince Village. Our 9-day, 8-night itinerary looked like this: Istanbul → Cappadocia → Antalya → D400 → Kaş → Fethiye → Pamukkale → Kuşadası → Ephesus → Istanbul. Since we didn’t have to worry about transportation, everything was pre-arranged—domestic flights, airport transfers, and intercity travel. All we had to do was pack up and head out each day. ——— Shared by a guest Our small group tours include: 👇 2-9 people luxury travel groups 🚫 No shopping stops 🚐 Travel by business vehicle + airport transfers 🏨 Quality city-center hotels + cave hotels in Cappadocia ✈️ Includes 3 domestic flights within Turkey 🧑‍💼 Licensed local guides + full-time WeChat support If you’re interested in visiting Turkey but don’t want to plan everything yourself, leave a comment with your group size and preferred departure date, and we’ll provide a detailed itinerary. Just got back from Cappadocia, spent three days and two nights relaxing in Göreme, moving at the same slow pace as the local cats sunbathing on blankets. 📍Basic overview Located in central Turkey, Göreme is the heart of Cappadocia. Known for its unique volcanic rock caves and hot air balloon spectacles, most attractions offer combo tickets or free hiking. It’s perfect for couples, photographers, and adults looking to unwind. 🗺️Itinerary Day 1 Cave hotel rooftop → Göreme open-air museum → sunset at Love Valley Tip: Don’t sleep in if you want to see the balloons. Get to the rooftop terrace before 5 AM to secure a good spot. ✨Highlights The fairy chimneys and moon-like landscapes feel magical, with easy hiking. Early morning balloons fill the sky. Wearing a light-colored dress or solid jacket makes for stunning photos with soft natural light—no editing needed. 🍜Local specialties Pottery kebab (served by breaking the pot, tender meat with rich sauce, available at old town center restaurants), Turkish kebab (charcoal-grilled, eaten wrapped in thin flatbread), baklava dessert (paired with black tea to cut the richness, sold at roadside cafes). 🏨Accommodation recommendations 1. Guesthouses near attractions: Sultan Cave Suites, with a rooftop terrace facing the balloon launch site, just minutes’ walk to town center. 2. City hotels: Cappadocia Cave Suites, preserving century-old cave structures, featuring underfloor heating and an outdoor bathtub, convenient for shopping in town. 🎒Travel essentials 1. Protection: sunscreen, sunglasses 2. Carry-on items: light jacket, power bank 💡Practical tips 1. After flying into Nevşehir or Kayseri airport, arrange hotel pickup or shared shuttle in advance. 2. Hot air balloons are highly affected by wind. To capture panoramic views, get up early and avoid wearing flip-flops on the terrace. 3. Canyon and cave floors are uneven. Wear non-slip shoes and avoid climbing on slippery rock walls. 4. Don’t use flash photography inside cave churches. Respect local religious customs and historic buildings. Wrapped in a blanket on the terrace, sipping black tea, watching colorful balloons drift over the valleys, it suddenly feels like all the usual stress is unnecessary. This place is so romantic it almost feels unreal, and incredibly comfortable.
