Water Bird Palace, Trang Province
“Wang Nok Nam” is a new tourist attraction on an area of 347 rai, Village 7, Khao Wichian Subdistrict, Wang Wichian District, Trang Province. Nature has created a large swamp on the seashore at the foot of Khao Wichian. Every year during January to May, flocks of ducks migrate from Siberia to live, nest, and give birth in this swamp. Later, the Khao Wichian Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) saw the importance of developing and upgrading this swamp to become a tourist attraction for the subdistrict. Therefore, it underwent a major renovation. In particular, a road was built around the swamp for walking, jogging, nature viewing, photography, and as an annual racetrack, whether it be a road bike or a vintage car competition. In addition, there is a meditation center at Tham Pu Suea and a Buddha statue, “Phra Wichian”, located on the top of the mountain, offering a high-angle view of “Wang Nok Nam” and the surrounding beautiful tourist attractions. In particular, on the eastern side, sculptures about the history of “Wang Nok Nam” were created because in the past, many types of birds used to live here, but today, there are only a few left. Therefore, a statue of a water bird, a sign for the water bird palace, and a look back at the past of the water bird palace were created. In addition, on the island in the middle of the water, there is a learning center for history, traditions, and culture in Trang Province and other provinces on the Andaman side. For example, “Manora Khao Wichian”, which is the birthplace of “Manora Tem”, the most famous in Thailand, has a replica statue on the island in the middle of the water. In addition, this area has very good weather, especially at noon each day because it is surrounded by water. It also creates a cool breeze all the time, becoming a new lung for city people to come and breathe fresh air. #Trang
