Fantastic Experience with a Minor Food Policy Issue
I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place sooner! I traveled here today with my husband and my 4-year-old son. It was our first visit after hearing numerous recommendations from friends, family, and online reviews. I must say, we had a fantastic day. There were lots of rides to enjoy, and the indoor soft play area was excellent. I really liked the idea of paying at the door and not needing to spend more money once inside.
I do wish the weather had been warmer so we could have used the splash park, which looked amazing from photos I’ve seen. There were plenty of activities throughout the day, such as magic shows, which were great.
The only downside was the food policy. When booking online, I didn’t see any notice about picnics being prohibited. We only discovered this when we had already unpacked everything from our car and were about to head inside. We had to rush back to the car with all our food. While I completely understand the park’s allergy-related reasons and the effort to limit contact, which is commendable, it was still inconvenient.
My son has a dairy allergy, so I had specifically packed safe food for him, only to be told we couldn’t bring it inside. It felt a bit ironic since the on-site cafe within the soft play offered foods containing milk, butter, and ice cream, which can also cause cross-contamination among children in shared spaces. Fortunately, my son’s allergy isn’t very severe, but I can see this being a bigger issue for others.
We ended up having our picnic in the car and still had a lot of fun. I would, however, suggest adding some bins in the car park and perhaps a few benches, especially if this no-picnic policy stays in place. The only bin there was overflowing, so we took our rubbish home.
Overall, taking the food situation out of the equation, we had a lovely time and would absolutely return. I just wanted to share our experience to help make others aware of the food policy due to allergies.
