Surabaya Zoo is a well-known zoo in Indonesia, housing a wide variety of animals, including Komodo dragons and Javan tigers, which you can't see in Taiwan. For animal lovers or those traveling with children, it's considered a pretty good attraction. However, to be honest, there were news reports before mentioning that the animal care conditions there were not very good, with some areas looking quite old and management issues as well. But it seems like improvements have been made recently, and it feels like the zoo staff are making an effort.

During my 3-day stay here, everything was great. The service was excellent right from the moment I arrived. At breakfast, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu was highly varied, and my favorite dishes were the fried rice and beef steak, both deliciously fresh and cooked to order as requested. The restaurant atmosphere was pleasant, featuring an outdoor area where I could comfortably smoke during breakfast. The room is spacious, with a 140-sized bed that fits two people. The food is delicious, and most importantly, the service is incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooftop pool offers a view of the streets of Surabaya. The rooms are clean, and the bathroom is roomy. There's even a surprise slice of cake available upon request.
