At the south exit of JR Yaizu Station, there is a foot bath at "Yaizu Kuroshio Onsen," which is free to use. Kuroshio Onsen contains about half the salt of seawater and is a high-quality hot spring that is said to be good for health and beauty, including for those with a weak constitution. In the middle of the foot bath is a statue of a swordfish. Also, just down the stairs you can see a steam locomotive wheel commemorating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the railway. #Shizuoka

Shichisha Shrine A shrine located at 3-7-1 Omura, Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, founded in 1528 and rebuilt in 1807, dedicated to Tamatari no Mikoto. It is a 20-minute walk from JR Yaizu Station. Within the grounds, there is a stone monument that describes the history of the shrine, and next to it is a park with playground equipment. #triplucky2022

Koishikawa Park This park is located at 1-9 Sakaemachi, Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the railway, a steam locomotive has been exhibited in the park since May 1972. There are flower beds, a plaza, a jungle gym, swings, and more, and the Koishikawa River flows next to the park. The hotel is conveniently connected to Shizuoka Station South Exit via an escalator and through the adjacent building directly to the second floor of the hotel. I realized this on my way back — no need to take the street in the heat... sweat. Since I had some time before check-in, I visited the city art museum at the North Exit, which turned out to be a great way to pass time. They had an exhibition on Swedish tableware that was quite impressive. My room was a corner room with an L-shaped layout, which kept it quiet as no outside noise could be heard. The towel service in the hallway was a lifesaver, especially with the scorching heat, as I ended up taking three baths or showers throughout the day. Unfortunately, I couldn’t catch a view of Mount Fuji... tears. For dinner and breakfast, I enjoyed the hotel's buffet on the first floor. Perhaps due to their afternoon tea service, the cakes were particularly delicious. A nice surprise was the generous portions of local specialties like Shizuoka oden, seafood rice bowls, and roast beef — double the amount compared to other places. Since there were only two other groups of diners, I felt like I could take as much as I wanted... delight. However, the downside was that some dishes had gone cold, possibly because of low turnover. This was quite different from the guesthouse I stayed at in Yaizu the previous night, where food was constantly replenished despite a time limit. Breakfast was surprisingly busier than expected, though still not crowded, making it easy to take my time and enjoy a leisurely meal.

An all-inclusive hotel in Yaizu. It was my first time visiting, but I was able to enjoy absolutely everything since the price covers all food and drinks. You can relax in the lounge even before checking in. *Note: It gets so crowded here that it's hard to find a seat. The view is fantastic, and on a clear day, you can even see Mount Fuji! Activities require reservations, so make sure to book them as soon as you arrive! There are plenty of lounges to explore, so I never got bored. [Jigyosada] A 10-minute walk from Yaizu Station A local fish sushi restaurant located right in front of the port. I ordered the "12:00 PM Limited Nigiri" (1,408 yen), which was exactly what I was looking for. All 22 types of local fish nigiri (including tamagoyaki) are available in slightly smaller sizes than usual. Even though they're mini sizes, the toppings are impressive, fresh, and delicious. It's also nice that it comes with miso soup. It was a really fun experience trying some rare toppings. The rice is made with red vinegar, giving it a subtle color. I used the Go To Travel Campaign to save money on this trip! I was nervous because a typhoon was approaching, but I returned safely without any problems. I definitely wanted to eat Hamamatsu gyoza. There was a huge line at the restaurant in front of the station that I was aiming for, so I gave up and went to another restaurant. It was a little disappointing that the gyoza at Hamamatsu Gyoza, my first time at the original place, was different from what I had imagined. That is to say, they were very small, too crispy, the skin was hard, and they didn't feel juicy, and I got the impression that they were more like fried gyoza. Maybe I should have eaten them at a better place. For sweets, I chose Nanaya, which I also wanted to go to. The strength of the matcha changes depending on the number, so it was fun to compare the taste. The cake also had a fine sponge and was very delicious! For dinner, I chose Sawayaka, which everyone knows and which I've always wanted to go to! I was surprised when I cut it. It's really red! It was the best for me, who likes rare gyoza. My mother thought it was a little strange. It might be a matter of likes and dislikes. The next day, we had an early lunch, so we went to the market and ate at a restaurant. This shop is famous for the all-you-can-eat tuna until they say stop. They held it until the very last moment. It was very delicious. The desserts were from the famous Abegawa Mochi shop. The taste was good, but the service was very disappointing. To be honest, it was so uncomfortable that I didn't feel like I was eating, and the customer service was awful.
