The Jerai Hill Resort was one of the most peaceful places I visited in Kedah. Nestled on the slopes of Mount Jerai, the resort offers a refreshing escape surrounded by cool mountain air, lush greenery and breathtaking views. The journey up the hill was already an experience, with winding roads and beautiful scenery along the way. Once I arrived, I was greeted by a calm and relaxing atmosphere that felt worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I enjoyed taking slow walks around the resort, admiring the surrounding rainforest and listening to the sounds of nature. The cool climate made it the perfect place to unwind and simply appreciate the peaceful environment. One of the highlights was the panoramic view from the hilltop. Looking out over the coastline, paddy fields and nearby towns was truly breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset when the scenery became even more spectacular. Overall, The Jerai Hill Resort is an ideal destination for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with nature. The cool weather, scenic landscapes and tranquil atmosphere make it a hidden gem that is well worth visiting. 🌿⛰️✨

I spent only a night with my camper but for sure not the last time. Just an amazing place and for star lovers! take your telescope if you can, ther is no light pollution and a wonderful heaven. And sooo calm. Super hospitality Great setting with wonderful views and lovely welcoming hosts! It really is a lovely campsite – there were very few others staying whilst we were there and we chose a pitch at the far end of the site so really felt like there was no-one else around. Extremely peaceful. #spooktaculartrip Pulau Song Song is situated about an hour slow boat ride to the west of Yan, Kedah, south west of Song Song there is a rocky outcrop called Tukun Terendak, we did our first dive there. To the south of Song Song there are another 2 islands, Pulau Telor and Pulau Bidan, we didn’t dive there, but I believe it would also be interesting to dive there too. From Song Song we could see Gunung Jerai from the west, it looked gorgeous from that direction. There is this waterfall perhaps several hundred meter ASL, and at least a hundred meter tall that is visible even from Song song … I wonder what is that waterfall called? Batu Hampar?

This is not a popular tourist spot, but it is one of the most important archaeological sites for studying Malaysia’s early history. Bujang Valley, a civilization with more than 2,000 years of history, is located around Merbok in Kedah, covering about 224 square kilometers between Gunung Jerai and Sungai Muda. Archaeological findings show that organized settlements appeared here more than 2,000 years ago, and it was an important hub for ancient maritime trade. In recent years, the Sungai Batu site within Bujang Valley has revealed an ancient jetty, iron smelting remains, and brick structures. Some of these ruins date back to around the 2nd century AD, further proving that this was an early major port and industrial center in Southeast Asia. The place in Malaysia with the most ancient temple sites Bujang Valley is best known for its Candi (ancient temple) ruins. So far, archaeologists have discovered more than 50 temple sites. That’s the first impression I got when stepping onto Songsong Island 🌊 Located off the coast of Yan, Kedah, this island sits within the Jerai Geopark and is only accessible by boat from Sungai Udang Jetty. The ride takes around 20–30 minutes, crossing calm waters before the island slowly appears on the horizon. Surrounded by smaller nearby islands like Bidan Island, Telor Island, and Bunting Island, the whole area feels like a quiet cluster of hidden islands. Peaceful, remote, and far from city life 🌿 Once you arrive, the vibe is simple and raw. No luxury facilities, no resort comfort, just nature, sea breeze, and an escape from everything busy. The island is great for fishing, snorkeling, and camping. It’s the kind of place where you don’t really need an itinerary. Just slow down and enjoy the surroundings. Interestingly, Songsong Island also carries a layer of history that many visitors might not notice at first. There is a small burial area on the island, believed by some to be old graves, while others say they could be the resting place of Kedah warriors who once hid here during past conflicts. The island was also once used as a military training site, though that is no longer the case today. 🌊 The surrounding sea is surprisingly warm and rich in marine life.
