🏯【Shizuoka Yoshida】A legendary fortress of the Takeda army! A "small mountain castle" with a stunning view of the castle tower🗻✨
#JanuaryDestinations2026 After exploring Kunozan in Shizuoka City, head west to Yoshida-cho, where history buffs and scenery lovers alike will find a "small mountain castle (Observation Castle)"! 🏯 This was once a crucial military stronghold fiercely contested by the Sengoku period generals Takeda Shingen and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Although the original castle is gone, a three-story "observation tower castle tower" has been rebuilt. This black castle stands majestically on a small hill!
The most stunning aspect is its view! From the top observation deck, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view. On a clear day, you can see the magnificent Mount Fuji, the vast Suruga Bay, and even the distant Southern Alps. This is a hidden gem where you can experience both historical charm and natural grandeur! 🔭
📝 Complete Siege Guide:
1. 🌙 Must-See Ruins: "Mikazuki-bori"
Next to the castle lies the "Mikazuki-bori" (crescent-shaped moat), a classic defensive structure of the Takeda school of castle construction.
This crescent-shaped moat was dug to block enemy attacks. The similarly designed "Maruma-de" (Maruma-de) is another precious Sengoku period relic, a must-see for history buffs! 🛡️
2. 🗻 A Photo with Mount Fuji
Want to capture the classic "castle x Mount Fuji" scene?
We recommend standing near the Nomanji Temple gate below the castle, or in the plaza of the park. The black castle against the backdrop of the snow-white Mount Fuji creates a postcard-perfect view unique to Shizuoka Prefecture! 📸
3. 🌸 Flowers in All Seasons
The "Oyama Castle Ruins Park," where the castle is located, is also a famous spot for flower viewing.
Springtime brings delicate pink cherry blossoms, while winter brings fragrant plum blossoms. Visiting during the blooming season, the castle is surrounded by a sea of flowers, creating more layered and picturesque photos.
4. 🎟️ Super Affordable Tickets
Entrance to the park is free; only the observation deck of the castle tower requires a ticket (only 200 yen for adults).
For this price, the unparalleled view of Mount Fuji is an absolute steal!

Chasing Sakura at Koyama Castle
#cherryblossom25 Koyama Castle in Shizuoka is a hidden gem, especially during sakura season when cherry blossoms beautifully frame the historic structure. The contrast between the soft pink petals and the castle’s traditional architecture creates a breathtaking scene, making it a perfect spot for photography and hanami. The peaceful surroundings and scenic views from the castle grounds add to its charm, offering visitors a serene escape into Japan’s rich history and natural beauty. Whether exploring the castle or simply enjoying the blossoms, Koyama Castle is a must-visit destination in spring.

【2024】Yoshida Park: Sea of Cherry Blossoms - Magnificent View
#樱花2024
Yoshida Park, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, attracts a large number of cherry blossom viewing crowds every year. A sea of pink and white cherry blossoms, with cherry trees blooming in succession in this vast garden, is as gorgeous as if the earth is covered with snow-white cherry blossom clouds.
Walking along the trail, cherry blossoms accompany you all the way, forming a dreamy flower tunnel, as if you have walked into a poetic and picturesque paradise.
The most amazing thing is that the park is surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom, which complements this dreamy scene, forming a magnificent painting that combines history and natural scenery.
Paris Park
The most anticipated thing in spring is the cherry blossom season. Neon lights make every place a scenic spot. In recent years, I have been going to a small mountain city in Yoshida-cho, Shizuoka every year. This flower viewing spot, known only to locals, is not crowded and very suitable for taking photos. Looking forward to the cherry blossoms in full bloom and enjoying flower viewing with friends.
