🎯 Core tour route
Recommended route: Park main entrance (Stone Starlight Avenue) > Waterside boardwalk/Nanshan Lake > Forest trail > Liuzu Cultural Pavilion > Observation deck > Return
1️⃣ Stone Starlight Avenue
The first thing you see upon entering is the exhibition area showcasing Yunfu's unique stone culture. The road is lined with various stone carvings, and the path is paved with 324 types of small stone blocks, telling the story of Yunfu as the "Stone Capital of China." It is a great starting point to learn about Yunfu's stone industry.
2️⃣ Nanshan Lake & Waterside boardwalk
Walk along the lake with its open waters and tree reflections. The boardwalk is built along the lake, perfect for strolling and taking photos. The Fish-Watching Platform is a quiet spot by the lake where you might occasionally see egrets skimming the water—very healing.
3️⃣ Forest trail & Red camellia forest
The forest trail has 80% shade coverage, offering views of unique landscape forests and rare tree species. In spring, red camellias bloom, and at the turn of autumn and winter, the maple forest displays rich layers of color (interwoven light yellow, deep red, and orange), making it a great time for photos.
4️⃣ Liuzu Cultural Pavilion
Located halfway up the mountain, the Liuzu Cultural Pavilion is solemn and dignified, incorporating elements of Yunfu's Zen culture. Many locals sit here for a while after hiking to soak in the Zen atmosphere. Looking down from here, the entire park is filled with vitality, ranging from light green to deep green and the gray-green of distant mountains.
5️⃣ Mountain top observation deck
From the summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Yunfu city and the distant West River. Visit at dusk to see the city lights come on; the night view of the mountain city has a unique charm.
📸 Best photo spots
Spot 1: Stone Starlight Avenue
Stand in the center of the avenue with the stone carvings on both sides as a background. Use the texture of the stone to capture a blockbuster photo featuring the "Stone Capital." Low-angle shots are recommended to highlight the three-dimensional effect of the stone art.
Spot 2: Nanshan Lake boardwalk
Stand on the boardwalk by the lake with the water and reflections in the background. Pose sideways or look back to capture a peaceful, healing atmosphere. Early morning or dusk is recommended for soft light, and an occasional egret in the frame adds a touch of liveliness.
Spot 3: Maple forest (autumn/winter)
At the turn of autumn and winter, the maple forest has rich layers of color, and the sunlight through the leaves is crystal clear. Shoot upwards from within the forest, using the red leaves as a blurred foreground to capture the autumn vibe. You can also pick up fallen leaves to make bookmarks.
Spot 4: Liuzu Cultural Pavilion
Use the pavilion architecture as a background, combined with surrounding greenery and Zen elements like stone wooden fish, to capture Zen-style portraits. Wearing plain or Chinese-style clothing is recommended for better photos.
Spot 5: Mountain top observation deck
After reaching the summit, use the Yunfu city skyline and rolling mountains as a background for panoramic portraits or landscape shots. The light is best 1 hour before sunset, and silhouettes look great when it's misty.
