Great stamina! A trip to Lishui unlocks the most enchanting spots in Jiangnan
Family, Lishui is truly amazing! Certified by "Chinese National Geography" as the "Secret Realm of Jiangnan," every ancient village, terraced field, and landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. Let me share a brief guide for you all~
Preparation
- Documents: ID card, student ID (for student discounts), senior citizen card (for elderly discounts).
- Clothing: Long-sleeve shirts and light jackets for spring and autumn; short sleeves, shorts, sun-protective clothing, sun hats, and sunscreen for summer; thick cotton clothes, scarves, and gloves for winter.
- Items: Power bank (photos drain battery fast), comfortable shoes (for hiking), rain gear (weather in mountainous areas is changeable), common medicines, stomach medicine, etc.
Must-Visit Attractions
- Jinyun Xiandu: Filming location for "The Journey of Flower" and "Legend of Phoenix," Dinghu Peak pierces the clouds, Zhu Tan Mountain’s morning mist with an old farmer leading cattle is very atmospheric, plus the Rock Study Room transformed from an abandoned quarry, filled with natural light and the scent of books inside the cave. Entrance fee 110 RMB (including shuttle bus).
- Yunhe Terraces: The largest terraced fields in East China, with over 700 layers, stunningly beautiful. In spring, the flooded terraces reflect the sky like mirrors; in autumn, the rice waves turn golden. The Jiujie Yunhuan viewing platform offers an incredible sunrise and sea of clouds, and the Baiyin Valley ancient village is also worth visiting. Entrance fee 80 RMB.
- Guyan Huaxiang: The thousand-year-old Tongji Weir water conservancy project plus the Dagangtou ancient town, a unique "half ancient weir, half painted village." Stroll along the cobblestone streets, see the century-old camphor forest, and take a boat to enjoy the Oujiang sailing shadows. Entrance fee 40 RMB (including boat ticket).
- Longquan Mountain: The main peak Huangmao Peak is the highest in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, at 1929 meters. Features plateau lakes, sea of clouds, rime frost, and primeval forests. The summer average temperature is 20°C, perfect for escaping the heat. You can also experience making Longquan swords and celadon pottery. Entrance fee 80 RMB.
- Shexiang Window: The core scenic area of Jingning, the only She ethnic autonomous county in China. Bamboo raft drifting and ancient village architecture are distinctive. In Dajun Village, you can watch She ethnic wedding performances and mountain song duets. Entrance fee 40 RMB.

- Jinyun Shaobing: Filled with preserved mustard greens and pork belly, charcoal-baked, crispy outside and savory inside, 5-8 RMB each.
- Anren Fish Head: Fathead fish from Qianxia Lake stewed with perilla, tender fish meat, rich soup, two ways to eat (fish head soup + braised fish body) for only 98 RMB.
- She Ethnic Black Rice: Glutinous rice soaked in black tree leaf juice and steamed, soft, fragrant, and sweet, excellent dipped in brown sugar, and you can try making it yourself.
- Mountain Delicacies Feast: Lishui is the "Mushroom Capital of China," featuring dishes like shiitake mushroom braised chicken and bamboo fungus stewed stone frog, so fresh you can eat three bowls of rice~

Itinerary (3-day tour)

- Day 2: Early morning watch the sunrise at Yunhe Terraces, play around the terraces in the morning; in the afternoon, visit Jingning Shexiang Window to experience She ethnic culture.
- Day 3: Go hiking on Longquan Mountain, experience traditional crafts, then return.

- Transportation: Attractions are scattered, self-driving is most convenient, mountain roads are many, drive carefully and safely.
- Seasons: Terraces flooded in April-May, golden rice in September-October, rime frost on Yunhe Terraces in winter, summer is best for escaping heat on Longquan Mountain.
- Gear: Bring mosquito repellent, sunscreen, trekking poles; ancient village stone roads are slippery, wear non-slip shoes.
- Photography: Best light at Guyan Huaxiang before 6 AM and Yangjiatang Village from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.
