We stayed at this hotel while in Heidelberg. Breakfast was complimentary so we had breakfast there 3 days. None of this would have happened if it wasn't for the free breakfast. There was a bit of everything. And it was fresh and healthy. It was definitely a great way to start the day. We had dinner there once. It was a bit pricey for our budget but it was worth it. The presentation was great; the taste was not disappointing. The service was simply amazing. The staff was attentive but not over the top. If you are not staying there, I recommend you treat yourself to dinner there. It will be a great addition to your trip.

In 2013, we drove downhill from the Black Forest to the Stuttgart Valley, and we were dizzy. In 2015, we avoided passing by Stuttgart. In August 2017, we went to visit Frank and Huashu, so we stayed in Ludwigsburg, north of Stuttgart. When we booked Schlosshotel Monrepos, we thought it was another castle hotel. When we arrived, we found that there were gardens, palaces, racecourses, several long lines of Porsches, and then a two-story Bauhaus-style building. It turned out that this was the hotel we booked. But what was surprising was that the hotel's French restaurant Gutsschenke had just received a Michelin star. I asked the front desk to help me make a reservation for 7pm. As a result, we went to have dinner in the drizzle. Although my fighting power was seriously reduced and I couldn't eat much, the dishes were exquisite and the service was in place, which was very satisfactory. The restaurant is decorated in a simple and quiet manner, without the sense of historical vicissitudes of the Michelin restaurant Le Gourmet in Die Hirschgasse Hotel in Heidelberg. There are 3 to 9-course sets, with prices ranging from 76 to 180 euros per person. We ordered a la carte, which was not expensive. Each of us had a main course, and the chef also gave us an appetizer and dessert to try, which was enough. The next morning, the sun was shining brightly, shining on the beige exterior wall of the restaurant, which was particularly eye-catching.

Delicious food and friendly service The staff was very kind and patient with us! The food was delicious and you can choose the spiciness and seasoning. I chose the traditional curry (Madras curry) and toppings (cinnamon and cardamom). The fries were delicious with ketchup and mayonnaise. The bread was also delicious. Ordered number 4, and the guy enthusiastically recommended sausages, one beef and one pork, and they were both delicious. You can choose the spiciness, but my husband can't eat spicy food so we just ordered the normal spiciness, which is not spicy at all for me haha

Bismarck, the Iron Chancellor, and Mark Twain, the literati, were both frequent customers of this restaurant. The fact that it has been in business for over 300 years shows how popular it is. I saw this restaurant recommended in a travel book about Taiwan, so I came here! It really won't disappoint you!
