The service was so friendly and quick, it really put me at ease. The whole place just had a good, relaxed vibe that made the evening really pleasant.

The staff, especially Leera and Noah, were super friendly and attentive, which really enhanced our dining experience.

Great spot in Reading for a quick bite. Food was tasty, drinks menu is huge. Perfect for when you need something fast and good. They handle big groups well too. Solid choice.

The Tim Taylor's Landlord on tap was spot on. Good selection of real ales too.

The chicken and beef pies are solid, proper comfort food. Good spot for a pint.

The pork stew was rich and tender, perfect for a cold day with the fireplace going. The beef pie had a nice flaky crust. Prices seemed fair.

The staff here are so warm and chatty, really makes the whole place feel cosy and relaxed. Just a nice, friendly vibe all round.

Proper old-school pub feel. The roast beef was spot on, really tender. Staff were friendly and quick. Just a bit pricey for a Sunday lunch, but you get what you pay for I suppose.

Had a last-minute birthday for a friend here. The manager was so kind, squeezed a table for 12 of us in right before closing. Food came quickly and was tasty - perfect for a big group that just wants to chat.

The pretzel with rarebit dip is a solid snack with a pint. The bubble and squeak balls had a nice jalapeño kick.

Caught the match here last night. Love that they have the big screens for sports but it never gets too loud. The pool table and darts area is tucked away nicely, so you can actually have a conversation over your food. Solid spot.

Popped in for a quiet drink by the log fire. The snug was perfect for it. They had a decent selection of whiskies, which was a nice surprise. The one I tried paired well with the setting. A bit pricey, but you're paying for the atmosphere.

Paul was a great waiter, really on top of things. The sirloin steak and Canadian burger were both cooked just right. Everything came out hot and timed well. Made for a relaxed evening.

The set lunch bread and butter pudding was the highlight. The pudding itself was warm and soft, not too sweet, and the clotted cream ice cream was rich and cold. A really good combination.

The fish and chips were spot on - super crispy batter and those triple-cooked chips were a game changer.

Great spot for a quick lunch. The riverside patio is perfect when the sun's out. Had the fish and chips, came out fast and hit the spot. Just what you need for a quick bite between meetings.

I was impressed by the variety of meats and vegetables available. The service was attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience.

The Sunday roast is a solid choice, especially for a group. They handled our booking for ten without a fuss. The hand-cut chips were spot on, crispy outside and fluffy inside. My ribeye was cooked just right, though the portion felt a bit on the smaller side for the price.

The fish and chips were spot on! The batter was super light and crispy, and the fish inside was lovely and moist. The chips were great too. Also tried the fish finger sandwich, which was a real winner. Perfect for a casual catch-up with mates.

Stayed overnight. Staff were friendly. The eggs benedict at breakfast was spot on, runny yolk and all. Partner's pancakes looked decent too. Solid start to the day.

They've clearly been working on things. Staff were more attentive this time, service felt smoother. My main course arrived hot, which is a basic thing but makes such a difference. A step in the right direction.

Had the grilled octopus again since the new owners came in. It’s just as good as last time—super fresh and tender, with that perfect char. Really glad they’ve kept the quality up.

The real ales here are in top shape. Had a pint of their seasonal bitter, poured perfectly, with that proper cask-conditioned taste. Just the right balance, not too heavy.

The food here is solid. Had the fish and chips, the batter was crisp and the chips were proper. Portions are generous, you won't leave hungry. The steak and ale pie was decent too, good chunks of meat. A reliable spot for a hearty meal.

The upstairs room was perfect for our wedding meal. Jane helped us plan everything, and Katie and the team were so friendly on the day.

The full English here is spot on. I always look for places that use free-range eggs, and theirs were cooked just right. A solid start to the day.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. The full English breakfast was spot on, really hit the spot. The room was clean and cosy, and the old building itself is lovely. Felt very comfortable.

Mason was a great server, really friendly. They let us bring some decorations and didn’t mind a bit of extra noise. The chilli prawns were spot on.
