Been coming here for years, and the minestrone soup is always spot on. £1.95 gets you the whole pot with a warm roll and butter. It's that kind of simple, consistent thing that keeps me coming back.

Had the Moo pie for lunch. Flaky crust, tender beef. Gravy was the star, really good. Lots of other pie options looked interesting.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect way to end the meal, and the local ale complemented the food beautifully.

The food was excellent and the ambience very pleasant. The only thing to note was the waiting time for the food to arrive and the fact that the reservation was lost. However we were sat straight away.

I had an incredible Sunday lunch at The Refuge! The roast beef was exceptional, and the Irish Coffee was a delightful touch that brought back fond memories. I can't wait to return for another meal.

Trip Gourmet Awards

just everything from entering to leaving was memorable.the only down side was dress code.the website promotes "dress to impress", no sportswear and we even received a phone call the day before to advise on dress code however, there was more sports wear worn than a football match on a Saturday afternoon, there was even one person with red socks and blue flip flops, no dress sense what so ever.aside from this the whole experience was perfect and we have booked again in a weeks time.

Right where to begin. Nice location and very nice inside. The staff are amazing very attentive and informative. We ordered around 7 plates. But my absolute fave was the oxtail sliders/burgers/ heaven on a plate with cheese!!!The food was amazing fresh and very well thought out.Loved the octopus and pork belly combo too!!I will be back and thank you.Literally my eyes rolled to the back of my head eating the oxtail!! 🫶🏾I would like that beautiful almond tart a little warm but that’s because I love a hot dessert with ice cream!

The service was excellent during our large work dinner at Albert's Shed. They took great care of our group, and the food quality was fantastic, especially the wine selection.

Celebrating our anniversary at The French was unforgettable! The attention to detail in the food presentation and the exquisite wine pairings made the evening truly special.

This restaurant offers a fantastic selection of authentic Spanish tapas, with generous portions that truly satisfy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or family.
