The bar manager really knows his stuff. Suggested a lovely Spanish red that went perfectly with the charcuterie board. Staff are friendly, no fuss. A bit pricey for the wine, but you're paying for the expertise.

Been coming here for years, and the crispy duck is always spot on. Never had a bad one. The rest of the menu is solid, but I keep coming back for that duck.

The staff really know their stuff about allergies. They took my nut allergy seriously, checked everything with the kitchen, and explained the prep for my dish. Felt safe ordering.

Decent Chinese buffet, and the evening parking is a plus. Their house red was a surprisingly good match with the roast duck.

Just popped in for a traditional afternoon tea. The vibe totally took me back in time, like stepping onto a period drama set! ☕️ The scones were warm, clotted cream was spot on. A lovely, quiet spot to unwind.

The upstairs tea room is such a lovely spot. The climb is a bit of a trek, but those comfy chairs and the view over the high street are just right for a quiet afternoon.

The full breakfast here is a solid deal. I got eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, toast, and a coffee for under a tenner. Portion was generous, everything was cooked well. Service was quick, which was nice on a busy Saturday morning.

Late breakfast turned into a roast. Beef casserole was hot, gravy was good. Solid portion for the price. Quick service for a weekend.

The fish and chips portion was huge, the fillet was practically hanging off the plate! Really fresh fish, which I appreciate.

The menu really stood out for me. They clearly focus on quality ingredients, and you can taste the freshness in every dish. The grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables was perfectly cooked, and the greens tasted like they were just picked. A lovely, relaxed spot.

Lots of choice here, the staff are friendly enough. But those donuts are the real draw - they're huge and only a couple of quid each. Really good value for what you get.

Loved the outdoor tables on Chapel St. Much calmer than the main road, great for watching the world go by.

Came after work for a quiet one. Menu's a bit smaller now. Food's decent for the price though. Quick service. Good drinks.

I always look for fresh ingredients, and their fish is spot on. The chips were crispy, not greasy. A solid choice when you want something simple and well-made.

The carvery had generous meat portions, and despite a few lukewarm vegetables, the overall meal was enjoyable and worth the wait.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. The portions are huge for the price, honestly. Got the grilled chicken plate and could barely finish it. Quality's solid.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel relaxed. The service was quick, and the seating inside was comfortable. A nice, easy lunch spot.

Came for coffee and cake with a friend. The slice of chocolate cake was huge, easily enough for two to share. Coffee was good too. We sat for ages and didn't feel rushed at all, which was nice.

Love these classic backstreet cafes. No frills, just good, honest food. The tea and coffee are straightforward, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s the kind of simple, unpretentious spot that feels like a proper local find.

Perfect for a quick lunch. The refurb looks great, feels clean and modern. Got the chicken pesto panini, came out fast and was tasty. Exactly what I needed on a tight break.

As someone who pays close attention to drink pairings, I was impressed. They had a good selection of wines that worked well with the gluten-free options. The staff knew their stuff when I asked for suggestions. Made the whole meal much smoother.

Love that they do chips in a cone! Such a fun option for grabbing a quick bite with mates. The salt and pepper chicken was a tasty choice. The place itself feels pretty modern and fresh. Perfect for a casual catch-up.

A decent local chippy with a lot of history. The fish is fresh, battered to order, which is nice. The chips are proper old-fashioned ones, not frozen. The vegetarian gravy is a good option. It's a solid choice for a classic meal.

The Christmas set lunch was spot on. Each course arrived piping hot, the seasoning was just right, and the presentation was lovely. A really solid festive meal.

The portions are huge and everything comes out piping hot. Really appreciate that for a quick, affordable lunch.

Found this place by chance. Portions are huge, honestly couldn't finish my plate. The lamb shank was spot on. Staff were really friendly and checked on us a few times.

The burger was really tasty, the patty was juicy and cooked just right. The fries were nice and crispy too. A bit on the pricier side, but you can tell they use good stuff.

The cocktails were fabulous, honestly. The food was nice too, but those drinks were the star for me. Good value, felt like a proper treat.
