Stopped here driving through Twizel — the rustic shed vibe inside is actually pretty cozy. Lamb curry pie was solid, lots of tender meat in there.

Came for the beef curry and honestly it was so tender, fell apart with just my spoon. The flavours were warm and a bit different from what I usually get around here. Place is tucked away from the main CBD strip, easy to miss. Would go back just for that curry again.

The gluten-free salmon bagel was really good — nice and fresh, not too heavy. I sat outside in the sun and it was just a pleasant spot to take my time. Staff were friendly when I ordered, which I always appreciate. Would happily stop by again if I'm in the area.

Rhys the bartender totally made our night - he kept bringing us little tastes to try and was genuinely fun to chat with. Great spot for a catch-up with friends. 🍸

The chowder and calamari were really fresh, and the tuna steak was cooked just right. Good spot if you're after seafood. Booking ahead for dinner is a good idea though, it gets busy.

Stopped here on a chilly Tekapo afternoon. Fish and chips were decent, but honestly the salt and pepper squid was the standout. Crispy, well seasoned, not rubbery at all. Sat outside and it was pretty nice even in the cold. Would come back just for that squid 🦑

Been coming here for a while now, and the lake view from those big windows still gets me every time. Sat by the window with a cappuccino, just watched the water for a good half hour. Coffee's been consistent too, which is why I keep coming back. Staff were friendly enough, nothing to complain about.

Portions were solid and the pad thai hit the spot. Prices felt fair for what you get. Staff left us alone to eat, which I appreciated even with the place filling up.

Stopped by for dinner and grabbed the beef cheek — properly tender, fell apart without trying. Bar area’s got that cozy thing going, especially with the fire lit. Cocktails were solid too, not overly sweet. Only thing is it’s a bit snug if you’re not at the bar, but the vibe makes up for it. Service knew their stuff, friendly without hovering.

The shop is smelly. The staff is impolite and hostile. They will certainly not let you to have the catch-a-fish experience if you are late for within 15 minutes. A little poor old man with long white beard who dreamt of becoming a lawyer will come out to teach you to be punctual like attending an appointment with a lawyer or a doctor when attending a leisure trip ^o^ LoL. Be prepared to receive the long scolding from the little poor old man with long white beard if you would like to join this activity. Think twice before booking the catch-a-fish experience on-line as they will not refund to you just in case you are a little bit late.

The wine list had a solid Central Otago pinot that paired beautifully with the lamb. Service was attentive without hovering. A bit pricey, but the pour was generous.
