Came here for a quiet lunch and ended up staying longer than planned. The space is really chill, nice natural light, comfy chairs. Food was simple but fresh, the veggie plate did the job. Not too crowded on a weekday, which I appreciated. Prices are fair for what you get. Wouldn&#39;t mind coming back when I need a break from the usual spots.

I had my birthday celebration at Ilh&eacute;u. Gathered family and friends and everyone was happy with food, service, and the whole experience.  Expect a family managed place, not so big but large enough for groups. The food, homemade type but traditional from Madeira island. We had mainly &quot;espetadas&quot; - delicious tender meat, well seasoned, grilled to the point.  Of course we had to go for Poncha as starter drink and sangria. To have that Madeira feeling, we couldn&#39;t miss the traditional &quot;bolo-do-caco&quot;. We thank this lovely family for their friendly service, attentive to our requests and for the wonderful food experience. There was more but you must go visit O Ilh&eacute;u and find out the other secrets, no regrets!

Came here on a busy evening and the prices really surprised me&mdash;fair for what you get. The food was tasty, nothing fancy, but solid. Waiters were patient when I asked about the menu, which I appreciated. Just wish they had a bit more space between tables, felt a little tight. Still, good spot for a quick meal.
