Reasons for the Trip

I&#39;ve been staying home lately, and my body clock is completely messed up 😴. I originally planned to go to Zhuji to buy pearls, but since my driver&#39;s license isn&#39;t yet a year old, I can&#39;t use the highway, and the four-hour drive would be too tiring, so I decided to go somewhere nearby. I searched my phone for attractions near Huzhou. I&#39;m a nature lover and a foodie, so after comparing options, Shangsi&#39;an Town in Changxing really caught my eye 😎.

A Little Anecdote Before Departure

The next day, I was determined to get up early and explore, but I was so excited that I woke up a little after 5:00 AM. I felt sick from not getting enough sleep 😣. I had breakfast and tried to catch up on some sleep, but I ended up sleeping until 1:30 PM 🤣. After showering and getting ready, I left at 2:00 PM. I was about to give up, but then I realized that since I was in the mood to travel, it would be nice to see more of the scenery, so I embarked on this journey.

Road Conditions

The drive from my home to Shangsi&#39;an Town took about an hour and ten minutes&mdash;not far, but not close either. The national highway was incredibly crowded with large trucks, especially on the Changxing side. I drove with aplomb, but I finally arrived safely. 🙏

Village Scenery

Shangsi&#39;an Town is quite unique. An entire village has been converted into a tourist attraction, and the villagers still live there, brimming with life. 🧑&zwj;🤝&zwj;🧑 The entire village is paved with bluestone slabs, and strolling through them feels like stepping back in time. The village is mostly elderly, and the pace is leisurely, perfect for relaxing. However, a word of caution: there are quite a few dogs in the village. 🐶 Most are docile, but some are aggressive and start barking as soon as they enter the village. I was a little nervous as I left, fearing a raging puppy would bite me. 😰

The village&#39;s small river is quite charming. While the water is a little murky, it&#39;s fine as long as you don&#39;t play in the water. The riverbank is also paved with bluestone slabs, making for a relaxing stroll. The towering trees along the riverbank let sunlight filter through their branches onto the surface, and a refreshing breeze occasionally blew through, drying off sweat and sweeping away worries and restlessness.

Dining Experience

It was already 3:30 PM when we arrived in Shangsi&#39;an Town. After strolling around the village for half an hour, I was already ravenous. Since I was already here, I had to try some of the local restaurants. I found &quot;Shui&#39;an Wharf&quot; highly rated on Dianping.com, claiming it was a good value and delicious food, so I decided to give it a try. It&#39;s located right next to the pavilion, the village&#39;s &quot;CBD.&quot; I almost went to the wrong place, but luckily the owner was outside and kindly guided me. It was so heartwarming!

But I was even more impressed by the owner&#39;s wife. She&#39;s a gentle, beautiful woman with exceptional craftsmanship. Her preserved tangerine peel is incredibly delicious, refreshing and refreshing. In addition to the complimentary candied tangerine peel, I also bought three extra cans. Their pine nut wild rice was also delicious; I was amazed the first time I tried it. Since I went on a weekday, it wasn&#39;t crowded, and the seats were right by the river, allowing me to enjoy the view while I ate. I ordered a set meal, and I packed up any leftovers to ensure I didn&#39;t waste anything 🥢.

Post-meal relaxation

After dinner, I cracked some sunflower seeds and drank some tea 🍵. The sky was a clear blue, the breeze was pleasant, and I could occasionally see people washing dishes by the river. The relaxing feeling was truly indescribable.
