Fermented bean curd chicken wings are a must-try snack in Chaoshan
"I ate fermented bean curd chicken wings for two days in Chaozhou," said a friend. I also ate two main meals and faced various snacks in the food street. What I wanted to eat the most was fermented bean curd chicken wings. My friend took us to the store where he ate for two days. When there are many people, you have to queue for two hours. Sometimes you may not be able to buy it after queuing, it may be sold out. When I went there, it was not yet cooked. You can't pay $ in advance, it is weighed, 35r per pound, about 7r per piece. It takes a long time to fry a pot, and there are people coming later. I just squatted in front of the pot, and the guy in charge of the chef is quite handsome. The new pot was basically taken by us. The fermented bean curd red of the chicken wings is really beautiful and appetizing. This chicken wing made with secret fermented bean curd red juice is a special delicacy in Jieyang. There are six branches in Chaozhou. I have also eaten here in Shenzhen. It is more authentic. It is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, full of pot flavor. Eat it while it is hot. It doesn't taste so good when it is cold. #Chaozhou Food #Local Food #Local Special Snacks
For me, I prefer Chaozhou. The Chaozhou people's relaxed, carefree nature and inherent warmth truly captivated me. We went to Guantang for beef hotpot. I casually asked the owner, "Where's the slaughterhouse? Can we go see it?" Without hesitation, the owner took us to watch the butchering of an ox. Seeing the jumping beef in person was quite a shock. The owner also warmly invited us for tea and a chat. In Chaozhou, it seems like no matter where you go, you're greeted with, "Come, sit down and have a cup of tea." I truly love this ingrained "leisure time, enjoy some tea" feeling. If you haven't been to Chaozhou yet, I highly recommend putting it on your travel itinerary.
