"Three Cannons" (a type of glutinous rice ball) should be made fresh; the glutinous rice balls are coated in soybean powder, dipped in brown sugar, and sweet but not cloying. For a taste of local flavor, try "Chen Mapo Tofu"—the Mapo Tofu is so tender it melts in your mouth, the aroma of Sichuan peppercorns bursting on your taste buds, perfect with a bowl of white rice. For a more authentic experience, head to Yulin Night Market in the evening (5-minute bike ride). The cobblestone streets and red lanterns are perfect for taking photos. You can also watch shadow puppetry and try dough figurines. Have snacks in Jinli for lunch, and in the afternoon, visit the adjacent Wuhou Temple. It has a strong Three Kingdoms cultural atmosphere, and the red walls and bamboo shadows are must-see photo spots (tickets are 50 yuan, half price for students). Route 2: Yulin + Provincial Stadium (half a day) In the afternoon, you can go to the Yulin area. The Yulin Bar is a must-visit; even if you don't go inside, the signboard is great for photos. The surrounding Yulin West Road is full of artsy shops. When you're tired, find a cafe to sit in and experience the "slow life of Chengdu." In the evening, head to the Provincial Gymnasium (12-minute walk). If there's a concert or game, you can buy tickets to experience it. If there are no events, a stroll around the area is also very pleasant. Route 3: Chunxi Road + Raffles City (Half-day) Take the subway to Chunxi Road (3 stops). Visit the IFS climbing panda exhibit and explore Taikoo Li. Have hot pot for lunch in Taikoo Li. In the afternoon, go to Raffles City (1 subway stop). It's suitable for shopping and watching a movie, and the rooftop terrace offers great city views. Travel Tips Transportation: Prioritize the subway. Yiguanmiao Station provides direct access to Chunxi Road and Tianfu Square, avoiding traffic jams compared to taking a taxi. For nearby places like Yulin and Jinli, shared bikes are more flexible. Time: Jinli opens at 9 am; it's recommended to go early to avoid crowds. Yulin Night Market opens after 6 pm, and is most lively around 8 pm.
