After Shuangliu's Peng showed us around their new Mingcheng Shopping Center, knowing I'm a foodie, he decided to visit this local restaurant, nestled on a hillside, called Xin Sanheyuan. Although it looks like a farmhouse, the dishes are all exceptionally well-prepared. While not exactly elaborate on the presentation (there's a hidden menu for a more sophisticated take), the flavor is paramount. The braised pig's trotters and tails are must-try dishes, and the braised crucian carp with pickled cowpeas is particularly flavorful. The stir-fried native pork with chili peppers is also a must-try.
